Because you asked! My first kit was a Phoenix. Your fantastic build was a great inspiration for me. Your tips really made my build turn out exceptional. I would love to show you a picture or two. Since then, I have built a half dozen cralers and trail rigs. I also purchased the gray Phoenix rtr when released. Vanquish quality and design are great value.
The gf got me one of the vs-410 straight axle builders kits for Xmas and a week later I bought myself the Phoenix portal kit. I full built up the portal kit and have fell in love with it. The straight axle kit is at a roller state. I have big custom plans for it. They definitely have made an affordable kit and rtr will still maintaining the quality of their higher priced trucks of the past.
I drove a Phoenix at our local track. Although it was capable it had quite some slop in the drivetrain. I was a bit disappointed and rather drive my trx sport.
Thanks for the video Chris. Always a pleasure. I have a VS4-10 Pro kit before Vanquish ever released an RTR. It is one of the rigs that always gets loaded into my truck when I go somewhere. May have to pick one of these up. Someone is bound to start producing scale Willys Jeep pickup parts for this shortly. Love to see someone fabricate a Willys Jeep Wagon. Hint, hint.
Great vid. I built my first phoenix kit this spring. It was a FANTASTIC build! love the technical transmission part of it. However, I did not put all the servos in it so that I could take full advantage of the options. When I got it out on the trial the predictability of the rig was great. it definitely felt very planted and heavy down low. It was a great driving experience.
Wow what a beautiful spot, looks great out there driving around, I like it. Well appreciate you sharing I’ll catch you on the next one until then peace and chicken grease 😁🤙🤙😎
I love your videos and creativity! I started with Axial kits years ago and jumped on the Origin when it dropped. I have all the VS4-10’s except for the Ultra (was pissed about the quick release after the pro) and Fordyce. The Phoenix is killer and has a Zoku chassis now and is easily my favorite rig
It definitely needs a vintage weathered paint job to give it that 50’s jeep look. Even some over spray onto the tyres where the owner did some fender repair would be kinda cool
Really enticed by this one Chris. Would be good to have one rig that was entirely stock for once, and keep that way. And still want to use it of course. This may be it.
VS4/ 10 Pro I’ve been driving for I think about four years now, when it first came out. I would say probably about 1000 miles or more of driving, I’ve only lost two screws that came loose. It is on the second body and I have another one still in the box. Probably a couple more years I will probably have to get new axle housing they are getting beat up
I might have considered this truck as I feel like the value is there but I just got the element builders kit 2 with an ecto body and 1200 fusion se to go with it.
Hi I love watching your videos I learned so much from you. I was wondering if you paint body’s for people I have a vanquish Phoenix that I would love for you to paint. I am a type one diabetic and I would love you to incorporate that on the body as well thank you so much for supplying such great videos. You’re one of the best or the best on RUclips thank you.
I'm considering a purchase or either the VS4-10 Fordyce or the Phoenix. I like the looks of the Phoenix better. I don't think I care about the transmission differences. The price difference is only 20$ at this time. Any other major factors I should consider? Also, great video and info. Thank you for sharing!
Do you think this surpasses the TRX4 out of the box? I don’t own one but you always here people saying they’re the best! I tend to feel there a lot of traxxas behind those that rage about them!!! Great video
Great platform, great rtr. However, this is not budget friendly. At 20 dollars less then the full vanquish rtr with dig and selectable overdrive ready out of the box. I dont see this selling well. This needs to be priced at the 399 price point.
Thanks the the video. I’m looking to add a servo winch to mine. Can you please let me know if you think channel 4 would work for this on the factory transmitter?
I think this is more of a trail truck rather than a crawler. Its basically a VS4-10 Pro with a different body, plastic axles, different wheels, and less beefy upper links.
my "stock" vanquish rtr rivals some 2000$+ custom rigs with only a fusion pro 2300kv in performance, i tried weighted wheels with smaller tires and it was boring as it was too easy, only place it does not perform as much as lcgs is on sidehilling but is close, anyway i run it mostly stock to have to drive it carefully, nothing else can do as much stock
Very nice in-depth look at the Fordyce, Chris! Excellent value for sure!
Agreed! Very nice and detailed testing on yours, good to see it stand up to all the abuse. 🙌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@hemistormrc Josh and I both are looking forward to what you do with this one!
Fordyce is an area in California that off road vehicles enjoy. Many miles of trails that require seriously capable rigs.
Good to know! Curious to see if it will be an option to visit it some day.
They allow people to drive offroad there? That's amazing, not much freedom left in California.
Cali still has the only lawless city in America, so cali has less rules but higher prices to live.. for no real reason. Well dumb voting lol
I ran that trail years ago on an ATV. It's VERY tough. It makes the Rubicon trail seem like child's play.

I love my VS410.

That is awesome! Sounds like you have gotten the bug! 😆👍🏼

Sounds like a great stable of trucks you have there!
Another great RTR offering from Vanquish. Awesome video Chris.
I have a pair of trx4's. I would love a vanquish. They seem to be the total crawling machine!!
I drove a Phoenix at our local track. Although it was capable it had quite some slop in the drivetrain. I was a bit disappointed and rather drive my trx sport.
@@rofufoja right on.. I would like to try a vanquish but at the end of the day I wouldn't be surprised if the traxxas won me over anyhow😎

Right on! I hope for more body styles too, quality on these shells and their accessories is spot on.

I love my 5 VS410s, my 3 Phoenixs crawl amazingly

Nice back yard Chris !!!wish I could come visit ….
Great video! I agree. Lots of personalization potential to this modernized classic look body! Brilliant move on the new bead-lock wheels. Have fun!
Totally agree! Looking forward to seeing what we both can come up with for this new cab shape. 😄👍🏼👍🏼

Nice work on the video! Super scenic running footage as always. 👍
Fordyce There’s a trail that is at the beginning of Cisco Grove. It’s a amazing trail for off Roading
Foam degreaser cleans tires very good .
Simple green works well also
Looking forward to what you do to upgrade it
Licking stuff you shouldn't be licking 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That is what my mom told me when I was ten. Never a dull moment Chris! Thanks. 🤜🤛

It definitely is a great addition to the fleet
Still jealous of your backyard! 🙌🏼🙌🏼😁
Looks like the J concepts creep body

I love all my vanquish trucks an I’ll have this one to

I bought a lot of the guts of those truck long before getting a full kit for fun truck
You should do a starry night paint job on the blue body!!!
Great review!!! I really want to get this one now.
Cool truck, like it 😃👍👍👍

Can both body interchange? Thanks
Please post more videos
Looks great! Just hoping vanquish would’ve came out with something new instead of just a new body.

❤❤
No-one tells me what car parts I can and can’t lick.
for $20 savings I dont see the point in buying it unless you really like the body
why would someone pick over the Phoenix model? just wondering
I agree. For $20 more, you have options to add later on if you want like high overdrive and dig. With this you are stuck with what you have
I think this is more of a trail truck rather than a crawler. Its basically a VS4-10 Pro with a different body, plastic axles, different wheels, and less beefy upper links.
nice;))
🍻👍🍻

Highly disappointed that everything is going rtr. I would pick this up in kit form but not in rtr. Some of us enjoy the build more than running them.
I think Vanquish is overrated. They‘re cool but not more capable than other good crawlers.
