I built my Truggy to race but during my first test drive off the track I was Shocked how amazing it drove compared to all the the other rtr vehicles I’ve driven advertised as bashers. Perhaps it’s time to start talking about how these vehicles are great on and off the track. Not to mention how fun it is to build a super high quality kit.... it’s just expensive. That being said plenty of people buy 3 rtr bashers and endless upgrades trying to make it strong.
Learn to drive buddy. Tekno and M2c equals minimal breakage. I absolutely send my M2c Kraton and it laughs at me 💯This truck doesn’t compare to mine with upgrades but I’m buying one anyway and to the Moon it goes!
I’m leaning towards an overpowered basher, as in crazy power. I just think it will take the power and handle super well. As for the body. Put some Christmas wrapping on it, it looks like gift boxes 🤣 Thanks again for sharing Rich. It’s always a joy!

Nice video, sound a bit like a Tekno fan boy though. 😂 I wasn’t amazed by my eb48 2.0 build, but on the track? Yes for sure! One thing I caught is you confused what diff you shimmed when showing the manual around 11:22. As you clearly earlier showed the one shim in the front diff. No big deal
Yeah, I noticed that when I edited the video....and was so tired, I was confused too. The first bulkhead I built took a shim....but that can change from person to person.
I wonder why they don’t make the a arms smooth on top. Seems like dirt would not accumulate as bad if they did that. I’m so undecided what truggy to get. I have an MP10T already and still on the fence what to buy next. Great video.
Thanks for watching. I’m sure it’s to make them lighter….with that, I’ve never seen a Tekno arm break. I’d go with a modern buggy…..Kyosho is a great, but a really dated design
The cutouts make the arms lighter I would agree, I just wonder why they don’t make the cutouts face the ground so dirt doesn’t settle in them. Seems like there’s a reason why the smooth sides don’t face up?
Puzzle piece replaces the center diff brace to the center diff cage part. its how you still use the screw on the cage. Many people including myself do not use the center diff brace on our EB 2.0.
Wow! Amazing detailed build review 🤩 exactly what I was expecting 👌 Upon seeing this video I don't think you can bash this ET. All the adjustments are clearly made for racing. It would be nice for Tekno to keep the 48.3 kit around and make it specifically for bashing.
@@afrewer94 I always oil the oil rings, on every shock I build....but it was a known issue on the 2.0’s. I believe one of the team drivers even had a hack for it.
I am under the impression that the silicone oil will only make that o ring swell. So I used sone green slime grease, and it was much easier to thread on.
Racer. This is looking like an awesome kit from Tekno, sadly also desperately needs an aftermarket body that covers the front shock tower, though looking at the second set of mounting positions for the body mounts they definitely knew it was coming. Not only does this look incredibly ugly imo, it's also not ideal for newer drivers who might be flipping their car more often than a pro. If you have a body covering the tower it will not dig into the dirt surface if you land on it. Sure it won't be able to fend off a "death blow" but I already see my fair share of bent Buggy shock towers after seemingly small incidents. This thing is both heavier and the shock tower is longer, creating much more leverage.
Just speculation, but I believe it was being tested at a race earlier this year....and might have lead to the revision....but I might be wrong. Just like with the EB410......Tekno is on their like 40th revision of the bulkheads trying to make it always better for us, the consumer. I applaud them for this
Parts, build and quality - the Tekno wins by a bit, IMO. The TLR is nice, but loses on a crucial step/part missing in the manual and overall unlikable items like the motor mount. I prefer the Tekno motor mount and in general, all of the electronics mounts in the Tekno.
For pure bashing is there really much benefit to this over the mt410? It's obviously a newer design but they added much to it that would be good for bashing?
Short answer is no. All of the updates that came out with this car all had racing in mind. There’s nothing that wasn’t already there with the mt410 and the et48.3 for bashing.
That’s exactly why they designed it the way they did.....traditional (or now vintage) truggy bodies have a parachute effect and have little to no downforce like the new Tekno.

No, if you want both buy both. Overall it’s best to just get both
you'll likely spend just as much converting as you could buy the ET48 2.0. Short list - arms, driveshafts, turnbuckles, bulkheads, diffs (f/r) shocks, shock towers, 17mm hexes, body mounts, braces, chassis plate

It all depends on how you out fit it....but it's highly unlikely that the demographic that this truck will target won't already have a radio, batteries and charger.
