I've been torn the past couple months between a TLR 8ight XE, Associated RC8B3.2e, and this for my first real racing rc car. I believe this video pushed me to the Tekno.
What a fantastic review and breakdown. This is the closest I’ve come to a tekno so far. What a beautiful kit. Now I know why people say “get a tekno” they’re pretty rad. Awesome video. Very thorough and meticulously done.
10:57 you will see that if you align the servo horns properly, as in, where the servo spline goes in the horn, you will notice that the aluminum inside hole one matches with the plastic horn.
This is an amazing update, I love my EB48.4 so I’m not ready to retire it yet but when I do this will be the easy choice. I don’t think I’d sell my EB48.4 I’ll keep it as a spare or loan out buggy and just for ripping around
What's everyone's thoughts on tekno eb410.2?? I'm getting back into racing after 15 years out of hobby either that or kyosho mp9e,losi 8ight or 5.0 elite!!! I'm in Memphis TN area
@@TheRCNetwork lol...what if I don't want 'therapy'? TLR makes outstanding vehicles. Besides, between TLR & Associated, I'll take TLR 999.9 out of 1,000 times.
I completely agree! After speaking with them in depth at the 2018 DNC - they truly have the consumer/racer in mind. They only come out with the next version if it warrants it, not like other companies that need a 2020 version from their 2019 version.
Serpent has had the bearing on the sway bars since their 811 Cobra buggy. In fact many Tekno users are buying the Serpent Sway bar spacers are they are metal.
I just got a mugen mbxe and now tekno comes out with this!!! Dammit I want this one instead 🤣. Great job on the review Rich. Looking forward to the complete build and running video.
I think this is the next step for those that have a Arrma Typhon or maybe the SCT crowd that are tired of replacing bodies. That's how I progressed from others to Tekno.
I'm trying to decide between 4 cars either this buggy, or the eb410.2 tekno, losi 8, losi 5.0 elite, or kyosho mp9e?? Getting back into racing after 15 years ago
This buggy looks great! The only dislike i have is that the ESC is pretty much bolted straight into the chassis plate, i'm affraid of all the abuse the ESC is gonna receive from it hitting the ground. I guess a thick protective gel padding is in the books for it.
Yeah, many people double up the double sided servo tape, or use the Kyosho Zeel tape (spelling) - I've never lost an RX8 though...and I've stuck them to many chassis plates, directly
I'm in Memphis TN area and looking at getting back into racing after 15 years ago and I'm new to area looking for race adviser or buddy to pit with and teach me different setups ??
Gotcha, so overall gaining about an inch to make a little more wiggle room on mounting the electronics. It looks awesome in the video so can't wait for more info. Keep up the good work!
No idea. Tekno only updates a car with a full new model when it's significant. They always make small running changes during the lifespan and include those parts as the model matures. A great example is the bulkheads - they had several versions of the bulkhead and kept refining it till they got it perfect
Tekno moved it back about an inch (my approximation) to make more room for the electronics (ESC and Motor) . It's not by much though....as to effect the way it handles....but yes, very similar to the Hyper 9e (that was my 2nd ever 1/8th scale buggy)
Is the hyper 9e still competitive?? I'm looking at getting back into racing after 15 years I like the tekno eb410.2 as well as well as losi 5.0 elite, or kyosho mp9e?? Any thoughts??
Vape Clouds901 whoa, slow down! 😃. Make sure you’re looking at one class of buggy - the EB410.2 is a 4wd 1/10th scale, the Elite 5.0 is a 1/10th scale 2wd and the hyper 9e and MP9e are 1/8th scale 4wd buggies - all are complete different categories. The first thing is to find where you’re going to run/race it.
Tekno RC's are a HUGE step above from the RTR's that are out there. Once cool thing is that when you're ready to upgrade, you can take most of the electronics from the Typhon and drop them in the EB48 - just to keep costs down
What's YOUR favorite NEW feature of the EB48 2.0?? 🤔
Everything..lol. I think I'm going to upgrade my old kyosho's and order the EB, and the NB. Great video, thanks for the info.
it's overall sexiness.
The larger diffs put a big smile on my face 😁
I like those front arm, my buggy arm always twisted like that after couple of race, tekno twist it for good reason.
I always love your video quality, watched this twice, so amazed both your video and the tekno!
Metal hinge pin inserts! Brilliant love that. Super smooth and free no reaming.
Yep, I was puzzled at first...had my 4mm arm reamer already out! lol
I've been torn the past couple months between a TLR 8ight XE, Associated RC8B3.2e, and this for my first real racing rc car. I believe this video pushed me to the Tekno.
The TLR is a close second to the Tekno.....but the Associated is a complete joke of a buggy....much better options than Associated
I know this is going to be good, smashed that like button first second in. Looking forward to seeing all the awesome quality details Rich!
So, when are you going to retire the Arrma and get this??
The RCNetwork I really should. Our local track doesn’t run 1/8 anymore so it’s a big spend for limited usage. Thinking about it. 😁👍
@@netcruzer Time for that DB48 V2 than. Or?😁 How much room is there exactly for the motor and esc (overall length) ?
What a fantastic review and breakdown. This is the closest I’ve come to a tekno so far. What a beautiful kit. Now I know why people say “get a tekno” they’re pretty rad. Awesome video. Very thorough and meticulously done.
Once you build one, you will know what RC should be about. There's so many kits these days that fall WAY short
10:57 you will see that if you align the servo horns properly, as in, where the servo spline goes in the horn, you will notice that the aluminum inside hole one matches with the plastic horn.
Yep, I noticed that. I'll still compare the EB410 version just to see if it will make it more streamlined
Dang what an amazing kit, unreal engineering and looks like they didn't miss a thing. Awesome review as well very well done.
Thanks Don - They outdid themselves
I’ve been thinking about getting a Tekno. This video sealed the deal. Wow I am impressed. Thank you.
Wow, glad to help....you've picked a great one!

I'm thinking about this kit or the eb410.2 or losi 8 or 5.0 elite any thoughts??
Thinking of getting the MT410. I’m very impressed by the quality of the kits. Also the options available.
They're great products - especially coming from anything RTR. You'll especially see when assembling this
Fantastic review and video! I've got one ordered, hopefully it ships very soon. It will be my first 1/8 scale so I'm quite anxious!
Nice! It's a very nice kit and build

A lot more improvements than I would have thought. Looks awesome. I want one 👍
Yeah, there's so much to cover.....really liking this thing!
Ok...I'm sold. Thought I was going to be a TLR-only guy (for off-road race vehicles), but this kit is one that could seriously disrupt that "plan".
Sounds good, the Tekno kit comes with after purchase therapy to rid the previous brand

Great now I want it, thanks a lot lol. A ton of great upgrades from the .4
Yep, a complete new RC, in fact
Just built mine up and thanks for the advice to get that aluminum servo horn cheers
Glad to help!
Looks amazing and looking forward to seeing you Finished painting, always love your color schemes!
Thanks DD - All electronics are in, just need to paint the body and glue tires......well, and film and edit 😉
Tekno are killing it 🙌😎🤟
A great indepth look of this weapon Rich 👍👍
They really went all out.. love the hubs and that cheeky little rear uni 🤩
Thanks RcA! They did a great job on this one
Awesome video review! Would love to see another video of it running at the track!
Yep, I'm planning on a couple of run videos after the reveal video (fully ready to run). Stay tuned, and subscribe!
Screams high quality. Gigantic sun gears and bearings on the sway bars wtf!
Yeah, Tekno has outdone themselves on this one.
Serpent has had the bearing on the sway bars since their 811 Cobra buggy. In fact many Tekno users are buying the Serpent Sway bar spacers are they are metal.
Good to know on the aluminum bits. Thank for commenting
Amazing review Rich!
Thanks Buddy!
The RCNetwork your welcome. Noob question here, can this be converted to something similar to the DB48?
I'm getting back into racing after 15 years I'm looking at the tekno 410.2 kit, losi 5.0 elite, 8ight RTR or kit, kyosho mp9e
i have never wanted to build a 1/8 e buggy as much as i do now.
Welcome to the club....but you gotta finish the Mattzilla first!
@@TheRCNetwork lol, I deserve that dont i?
Wow sweet!! Now the real question.. How does it drive!?? I’m waiting for the test drive video! Well done!

I just got a mugen mbxe and now tekno comes out with this!!! Dammit I want this one instead 🤣. Great job on the review Rich. Looking forward to the complete build and running video.
Thanks buddy! The Mugen is no slouch, but I do like a good Tekno!
Wow!! Amazing video for an amazing buggy 🤩 so many set up options 😵 As a Tekno basher I don't see anyone getting this for anything but racing 👍
I specifically got one of these 2.0 buggies to "bash" with 😉.Badlands already glued up👍 .

Thanks Brian, lots of work, but well worth it by all of the great comments!
Thank goodness you linked the chapstick! 😂 Great video, on what looks to be a great buggy.
You never know, there's people that ask....seriously, they do! 😬
Nice vid. Have some questions about the battery tray. How to fit 4s pack like Gens Ace with balance lead in the middle?
Not quite sure yet....haven't fitted mine yet, likely it will just get folded under the strap

What's the chassis width of the EB48.4? Just curious in the difference of this one (5.75in) and the previous model.
Just the plate was 4.5" on the EB48.4, but the side skirts extended more than the 2.0's, but still only about 5" max
Gotcha, so overall gaining about an inch to make a little more wiggle room on mounting the electronics. It looks awesome in the video so can't wait for more info. Keep up the good work!
looks like a premium product. My mugen is jealous

Are Tekno coming out with a new eb48 2.0 kit for 22 ?

This is definitely my next rc 👍 looks amazing not digging the body but I bet it flys great💯
The body is strictly performance based
What an awesome presentation again! Let's hope this time I don't get a divorce
Thanks buddy! Wishing you well.....
Freaking sweet, cant wait for mine to arrive, do you by any chance know if the NB48 2.0 body fits ?
I don't believe so - the cut outs for the motor and the NB48 has an even wider body (wider side skirts from the chassis plate)
@@TheRCNetwork ok, love the NB48 2.0 body, just dont have the NB yet to test fit it
This buggy is superior 👍👍
I'm agreeing on that one!
