"By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest."
The excitement in your review says it all. Definitely Looks like a winner Francis!! Cheers for the review. Can't wait to see this in action. You're very right regarding aluminium axles. They do catch a lot easier than good quality plastics.
Great unboxing Francis. Super job of describing the Pros and Cons too. Feel the same as you about VP now having provided us with an extremely versatile vehicle for a friendly price. The new VFD Twin transmission's DIG/OD functions are perfect for my typical crawling needs over a wide variety of terrain in my local Sierra Nevada Mountains. Will initially build the kit totally stock with high-end electronics and trying to keep it light. Body and fenders are really kewl. Approach and departure angles look great. My initial "want" items will likely be to add brass steering knuckles and change to lighter springs.
Right on, thank you. It looks like they didn't gift too many of these to reviewers which is a good thing. Really amazing execution on Vanquish's part to keep it secret, release it and have it available and shipping in volume on the same day.
Enjoyed this video, glad you have one and look forward to you getting it on the trail. 500$ plus electrics is a good price point, I hope to put one of these together soon. "You dont know where you're going if you don't know where you came from" wise my friend. Have a great weekend!
It's ok since we're not interested in that deal. Folks who get free stuff from some companies are often not allowed to say anything negative. So it is very difficult to be objective when placed in that position.
Looks neat. About molded plastic axles over aluminum, I have just broken 2 front axle housings on my 10-3, so for me it's primarily about durability. Im sure the brass portal housings and covers played some part in the breaking, but I perfer that added weight
This rig really intriguing to me. I do not have any vanquish rigs only wheels. I haven't built a kit in a long time. So what do you think Fran, this or a Scx6. I have some "Garage Funds" to help stimulate the local economy. After you get some run time with both it would be great to get a recap vid. I know that they are not the same but I would like to get one of them.
Hoping that will suggest what best ESC and Brushless Motor Combo, Steering Servo and the additional servos for the next video. More power. Just ordered this kit.
Great review Francis as always, very in depth, I was waiting for your video ever since I heard about the new vanquish crawler, I still prefer the old body shell but it’s a killer rig! 👌
Great video, I heard the weight was around 7lbs with a battery. Not bad in my opinion. Most of my rigs are 7+lbs. I was set with the rigs we have. Until this came out ordered one yesterday can't wait to get it.
Francis, love your channel, your advice got my Gladiator sorted! I also just purchased this bad boy via your link, hope it helps the cause. On your next vid would you be able to recommend some budget conscious ESC/motor and servo options for the vanquish please? Cheers from New Zealand.
Hey Francis!, Thanks for sharing this video! :D Quick question. When you say a 550 motor doesnt fit; is it like it phiciscally cannot be screwed to the transmission or you can modify somehow the chassis to make it fit
550 motor is too long. The bad part is brushed motors on this rig really need to be 550 for the weight. So it becomes more necessary to go with a brushless 540 to get the power to match this vehicle.
@@RCReviewChannel Does having a brushless setup do a number on battery run time? I like to go for hikes in the mountains with my Element Enduro and usually I have to head home before the battery is kaput. Thanks.

Fairly new to crawling. Are these vanquish kits worth the near double price tag with electronics over a trx4 defender? I know value is always subjective and look forward to the shootouts vs the rtr rigs
been hoping you would get one, i will be looking forward to your review! i'm in the market for a new rig and i like the new bronco from traxxas but i think i will wait lol
The axles seem like a pro to me. Plastic slide better then metal and they have brass sleeves to make them beefier and add weight down low. I will know for sure soon enough, Mine is already on the way.
For me, it's a pro. I have metal axles on one vehicle (out of 50) and although more realistic, it doesn't work as well. For the brand loyal, many will want Vanquish metal porn.
@@RCReviewChannel thanks! I’m trying to decide between this and the sendero kit to put into comp class 2. By the time I add the brass to the sendero, they are pretty similar in price. Do you have any thoughts between the two?
You can always lock it out if you don't envisage using it... but it's there for the future if you change your mind, plus it means they only need to manufacture one gearbox going forward for all models.
Can you tell me (please) if the diffs are locked or open or switchable? If I have to guess they are always locked, but why there is not a single reference to this anywhere on line? Please confirm actual set up of the diffs. Thank you in advance.
I wish manufacturers would leave out all the electronics on some of these higher priced kits to save costs also. I personally like to pick my own motor/esc , servo etc anyway. The Cross RC emo kit I bought was close to that but still came with a motor! Maybe you could put a word to these companies not to waste time adding that stuff to some of these higher end kits?
Hello sir, i'd like you to give an advice. I watched a whole lot of your reviews. Now i wanna buy a crawler but i cant really decide which one. Trx4, the new bronco, any axial scx10 or the new vanquish or even the ols vanquish.. like honestly I DONT KNOW. I like them all. I'd like to get an interieur which the bronco hasnt and i'd like to get one who performs well, just like trx4 and stuff like that. It would be nice if you could tell me which one you wouls recommend most?
Once you buy one. You will want them all. Trust me and everyone on here. I suggest something with lots of parts already available , soo your not stuck with a RC you can’t fix. Scx10 is a good start or even the gen 8 Scout ii. Hope I helped you Nico.

I bought my last three VRS4's because of the axles, transmission, and the metal towers and panhard mount. Which are things I've bought separately and put on other brand rigs also. This kit just took all the stuff I bought a Vanquish for away. I'd rather buy a chassis kit and some axels. This kit just lost points for Vanquish.
Junk wheels and tires holy crap would’ve expected better I am a fan of the plastic axle however I like no overdrive patch that it’s OK but still not worth the money🤷🏻♂️
This sounds familiar. I’d be careful with smaller companies & new tech. I recently purchased a Carisma Coyote 2.1 because of these same reasons. I went out & it fell apart on the first time out within 30 min of average use. I was shocked. Weeks later after contacting Carisma it sits unusable because I have no parts & Carisma has dropped the ball regarding the issue. Lack of parts & customer service in the US unfortunately has made a bad combination. I now have a brand new Rc sitting broken with no parts to repair it. I’d buy something more common with more parts available. I’ve learned my lesson the hard way & trusted a company to be professional & provide support to there customers. It’s sad that something that should’ve been fun turns out to be a 300$ paperweight that is useless. Bottom line be careful what company you buy from.
Vanquish is a 100% legit company that have been around for years making market leading quality parts and products.... strides ahead of Carisma. Sorry you got ripped and is one of the biggest gripes Josh from Vanquish has about companies like Carisma and the parts battle new owners get.. Cheers

You were talking about aluminum axles but I was under the impression that vanquish used chromolly for the axles housings.
CNC machined aluminum axle housings on their metal axles. They use some chromoly parts for the internals.
