    Thanks Wayne for your helpful video. I have one of these systems newly installed...well recently. It was due for a filter cartridge change and while I thought I'd figure it out, your step by step video gave me the confidence to get it done without a hands on tutorial by the plumber...$$$ cha-ching!
    I now can do this easily thanks to you and your wife!

    Forgot to mention the yet another blow dryer to the rescue technique. Didn't have to move through the subsequent options, all of which I would have availed myself of had that become necessary. Having a great day indeed, thanks to you! (74 y/o F, for your records).

    Hi Wayne, I've a similar system here in Ireland. The filter is outside facing a north-facing window in the shed and I noticed some green algae growth inside, but no other dirt otherwise. I figured I better change the cartridge quick in case the algae are releasing any nasty bugs. Your video was very informative and I feel much more confident completing the job now. Thank you very much for the confidence boost!

    Thanks, I had an issue when I was changing my filter for the first time on a new filter housing. Your mention of checking the gasket led me to look, and here the gasket had fallen out of the housing when I had removed it, so naturally water was spraying all over when I turned the pressure back on. It led me to look for the gasket, and that fixed it.

    Is it common for the black O ring on top of the cartridge canister to stretch out considerably larger than the groove it's meant to sit in?

    • @DIYwithWayne

      Hello Matthew, I have never had that problem, so I'm not sure if it is a common problem. Maybe someone else has encountered this and will offer an answer or a solution. . Thank you for visiting and have a great day.

    Hi Wayne
    Just saw your video. I’m having a difficult time removing cover for filter. Which direction do I turn it left or right? Thank you

    • @DIYwithWayne
      @DIYwithWayne  Год назад +1

      Watch the video again at about the 1 minute mark. If your filter is oriented like ours with the handle pointing at you, turn the handle to the left. This will loosen the filter cover. Good luck with your project and have a great day.

    • @diannaofodile7727
      @diannaofodile7727 Год назад +1

      I got it! I had to hit handle with a mallet a couple of times to
      loosen it. Turned it left, and unscrew it. Thank you so much ❤

    ...Thanx Wayne...enjoyed your video & I'm thinking of getting filtration system like yours since we do have hard H2O in central Texas...I feel probably using a single filtration system though since there is just my wife & I in a 1700 sq.ft. home (medium) should be sufficient...do you agree w/ that...?? Do you have an "AO Smith" filtration unit or another type; just wondering your experience w/ what you currently using...? (& am considering purchasing myself based on current ratings of course... ;-) ) -Thanx for video; was great...!! ;-)

    • @DIYwithWayne
      @DIYwithWayne  3 года назад

      All we have is the simple filter in the video. We are very lucky with our well water. It is Ph neutral and very good. Our only problem is fine grit that clog's up the strainers on our faucets. So the filter takes care of that. You should look into a water softener instead of just a filter.
      Thank you for visiting and have a great day.

    How can you rinse out the filter canister at a sink when you have the house water supply turned off there at the pressure tank??

    • @DIYwithWayne
      @DIYwithWayne  3 года назад

      You can hold the canister under the mount and slowly turn the water on a little. Be sure to have a bucket under the canister incase there is a spill. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.

    Considering a filtration unit (similar to yours)...but didn't mention (new subscriber) when the filter needs changing...once monthly, or quarterly...etc.??

    • @DIYwithWayne
      @DIYwithWayne  3 года назад +1

      Hello and thanks for visiting. How often you change the filter will depend on your water supply. We change ours every 3 to 6 months or so. We are blessed with very good well water. Our problem is small grit in the water. If you notice a decreased water pressure at your water taps, it is most likely time to change the filter. Thanks for visiting and have a great day.

    What if no red button on the top?

    • @DIYwithWayne
      @DIYwithWayne  Год назад +1

      There should be something there to release the pressure but if not, just make sure the water pressure is off and you should be OK to remove the cartridge. The red button also helps to let the air out after installing the new cartridge. If you don't have a way to release the air, just know you will get a lot of air at the sink until the air if flushed out of the water lines. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.

    How to install a filter for a Awuasure water softener

    There's no need to deal with air in the plumbing after replacing the filter. To avoid getting air in the water, press the red pressure release button until no air escapes the canister from the top of the canister AFTER filling the filter canister but BEFORE opening the supply valve to the house!
