Just sharkbite fittings and Teflon tape on any threads. It looks like he did what I needed to do, and used a 1" to 3/4" pvc reducer from the in/out ports on top of the filter so as to connect to a 3/4 sharkbite then to 3/4 tube or pipe
I had a AO WH water softener. 400T is there a way I can reduce the amount of times back wash is done. Five weeks later I had to fill the tank with salt again. It’s only two people in my hise
Are you happy with your setup? Do u notice any difference at all? I was thinking of purchasing this along with the hard water softener that Lowe’s offers. Thanks !
Yes I am. This filter works as advertised and seems to be good quality. This one is just a pre-filter so if you want good drinking water from the tap I would get this pre-filter, the tank filter, and the water softener. The whole system should run under $1000. Hope this was helpful
On the filter itself on the in and out connections what type of connection threading and size is that, again I mean on the device itself? Thank you to whomever responds
When I first installed the unit I did not notice any drop in water pressure. It's been a little over 3 months now and I have noticed a very slight drop in water pressure. I'm actually still very satisfied with this filter. I will be changing out the filter in a month or so, and I will be installing a pressure gauge so I can better document it's performance.

@@johnr5150 nice job John. Looks like you spent a small fortune on Shark bites lol.
Yea it only comes with 4 screws for the mount. Makes perfect sense AO Smith. SMH
what size o-ring does this use?

1" fpt
I notice you didnt add a grounding wire, is that not necessary with pex? Just got mine
Homes with pex piping use grounding rods, if you have pex piping grounding the system is not necessary
Do you notice any drop in psi or a decrease in water flow?
Not at first, but as i got closer to the 6 month mark i did notice a bit of a drop. But notjing too bad
Does that get attached to the water heater ? How much did it cost to buy?
No, to where main water supply enters.
What is that bracket number
I just bought one. Did yours come with the filter itself ?
No just the housing unit, i had to buyh the filter separate
Mine didn't. Don't think they do.
They dont i have been looking at it for a while
Did it decrease your water pressure ?

@@johnr5150 Hey thanks John that helps a lot. I expected it to drop a little when it starts getting dirty. Thanks again
David
