- Is your well water giving you grief? Are you unhappy with the safety, taste, smell, discolouration or staining caused by your well water and need to know how and where to start to fix it?. You’ve likely heard of water softeners, iron filters, UV systems and even RO’s but what do all of these things do, where are they installed and what order do they go? Do you really need all of these for your family?
Basically, we clean up the water to remove the dirt, color and impurities so your water won’t stain your fixtures and then we disinfect it so it’s safe for your family.
A Spindown filter is used for very coarse filtration. These use centrifugal force when the tap at the bottom is opened to flush out the debris. You would need to manually open the valve at the bottom periodically, usually once a week or more often if a lot of dirt is present, so they aren’t an automatic system. Shop Spindown filters here waterestore.com/search?type=p...
Filter housings with a coarse sediment filter to do the pre filtering. If the dirt amount isn’t too bad, and usually from a well it isn’t, you could use one of these to prefilter your water before any water filtration equipment like an iron filter or water softener to protect the equipment by keeping the dirt out. The filter element will need to be changed at least once a year or more frequently if they become clogged. Sediment Filter video • Which MICRON sediment ...
Our HUM Automatic backwashing sediment filter is used when you have so much dirt in your water that you’re constantly replacing sediment filters. These are great because the dirt accumulates inside while you’re using your water and then every 4 days or so they back wash to flush out all of the debris, automatically. Makes life easier for you, no filters to change and no chemicals are involved. Automatic backwashing filter video here • How Does a Nextsand Au...
If you have iron and or sulphur in your water, you’ll need one of our HUM FOB, FOC or FOK iron and sulphur filters. These oxidize the iron and sulphur out of your water, trap it inside and clean themselves every few days to flush out the debris. Once again, no filters to change and no chemicals to add. If you’ve brown water caused by tannins, this is where the tannin filter goes. After the iron and hardness have been removed. Tannin filter here • Do You Have IRON or TA...
By now, we’ve cleaned up the water and removed anything that would stain any surfaces, so we need to disinfect your water to make sure that it is safe and bacteria free for your family. So what do you need in well water filtration for your family? We would be happy to make a recommendation, but we need to know some information before we can help you. We need to know your water chemistry, in other words how hard your water is and iron content and a few other parameters. If you don’t have a lab report, you can always mail us a water sample for FREE testing to:

Gary has been a huge help in giving me the knowledge I needed about my well water filtration needs. I found his videos are full of information and very simple for people that don’t know anything (like me). I have emailed him back and forth and his staff, as well as called and talk to him and his staff. Everyone has been very patient and understanding with me and helping me to understand what I need for my well water filtration solutions. I can’t thank them enough for making me feel comfortable with what I needed to ask of my local plumber here in USA TN

Gary I have set up my system now which I go from well to filters to pressure tank then to iron filter/ water softener. I found this works for me
Good to hear! just make sure those filters before the pressure tank never get clogged becasue if they do you will burn out your pump.
@@GarytheWaterGuy yep it’s always a good idea. You shouldn’t have to worry about pump burn out because of the cut out switch which is now functioning awesome because I’m using filtered water to the switch. It’s the main advantage of prefilter to the pressure tank and switch. But, your right that is something you learn living on a acreage look after your water system and it will look after you. It’s way better I think to have a pre filter with a whole house filter. I didn’t have it before and my water was brown and there was even pipe scale in the water. I bought a prefilter and iron filter but I still had crappy water. Now it’s pre filter, whole house filter, iron filter. I also use chlorine tablets down a shallow well even though I had the water tested because well water is a wild card. Eventually I am planning on a RO system because of its purity.maybe when I win the lottery
Oh man! You took out all the good stuff from the water. I remember I was just drinking water directly from the river. Lol! Good video!

I just bought a home with a well and this really helped me understand how the filtration works. I am wondering though, I have a family of 3 including me, and a 46 ft well that holds 70 gallons of water, will that be enough to use and not run dry?
Depends on your wells recovery rate.
Enjoying all this information! New to being on a well. We did have a new well pump installed (our system was mainly original 1979) Recently, we also added an iron eater air filtration system (before this, the water smelled so bad all the time) & there is an existing softener. As of a month ago, I am doing hair at the house & noticing a faint smell again. While watching this, I don’t think we have a spin down. Would that be in-line with the filter & softner??
The spindown goes before everthing else but it will not remove smell, only sediment (dirt).
Hi Gary the Water Guy, thanks for a great video.
Would you please explain how a whole house filter without backwashing works? Where do sediments go? Thank you.
It stores all the dirt inside of it until you replace it with a new one.
@@GarytheWaterGuy thanks for a response. So, when a water filter manufacture claims that their whole house filter will last one million gallons meaning we are good for one million gallon of water? How do I check the water without sophisticated devices. Thanks Gary.
Very good info. I believe a softener resin filter to about 2 microns. What size are sediment filters in the video?
Softener resin typically filters down to about 30 microns. Prefilters like this 7525 are a good choice waterestore.com/products/pentek-filter-20-big-blue-sediment-dgd-7525-20bb-155356-43 and filters just before the UV need to be 5 micron.

Great video Gary. I am installing a complete water system in our home in Baja Mexico. The water supply mostly is from local wells that have become salty recently due to the extreme drought. I plan on adding a pressure tank prior to any filtration, etc. The water is supplied by a pressurized pipe so a well pump is not required. Will the pressure tank and pressurized supply water be enough to supply water to the faucets or do you think I need to add a pump?
I really don’t know. I would try it without, you can always add the pump later
Great video, i have an iron filter and water softener that was installed last fall and still seem to have some issues with staining. Watched your videos and will do the regen on both today before filling up the hot tub. What do you recommend for turning water off when away from the cabin?
I would have your water tested both before and after the equipment for iron, tannins and hardness. This video addresses what to do when away ruclips.net/user/shortsZAVzIkbzY4k
Super helpful! Thank you!
I am having water in my brine tank in between regeneration cycles. (Eco-Water EEC 1502R40 Model)
I replaced sediment filter, cleaned brine tank (and removed the salt sludge) replaced the Venturi valve and cleaned the float. Still, the water is injected into the brine tank but not removed from it. Any suggestions?
First, check to see if you have a pre fill or post fill water softener. See this video ruclips.net/video/GedMruLfXhY/видео.html It it is post fill, that is normal, if it is pre fill check to see if it is drawing all of the water out of the brine tank during the brine cycle.
Great Info, other than the sedimentary filter that you showed needs maintenance, do any other filters (like the backwash automated ones) need maintenance? In the future, I want to build my home for a potential family of four, however, I'd like to use a water well for our water supply and would like to know the cost effects of doing so.
Just the UV system filters and UV lamps need to be replaced annually
Hey Gary, Great video! quick question, can water softeners become non-functional if allowed to sit? We recently purchased a home and the previous owner left a disconnected softener unit that's dated 2019 but has been disconnected for a couple years. We were considering putting it back in service.
Great question! It’s definitely worth a try.
Thank you for the video. How come the a sediment filter isn't installed before the bladder tank? I had to keep replacing the pressure gauge on mine. I have recently figured out that I can just clean it out instead.
We do not install anything before the bladder tank because if that became clogged, you would burn out your pump. You are far better off to flush out your tank periodically, like once per year.
What would be the difference if you put the iron filters before the expansion tank as opposed to after?
Great question! The problem with having it before is that if it ever became partially clogged the pressure switch would signal the pump to keep pumping and burn out your pump. Not recommended.
Hello Gary great video and very helpful. If I add a water filtration system to my well water that is operated on a pump, will the pressure lower and if it does how do I fix to get better pressure.
We have installed thousands of these and have never had a complaint regarding lower pressure. They do lower the pressure but you will not notice any difference.
Thank you
Hi Gary! Great Video! I'm on a well, with 5000 gal holding tank and pressure tank. We have a tiny house rental unit near the well/tank that I would like softened as well as our main house up the hill a ways. Softening the water at the well location would mean utilizing the soft water for the house, pool and yard irrigation. (all suffer from scale build up). Is this too much for a softening system to handle?
It all depends on how much water you use and your water hardness. Can you calculate your daily water usage and have your waters hardness tested?
The sound effects are a useless distraction
Awesome video, just bought a house and this is so helpful. Indont believe we have a UV filter. Is our water safe to drink?
The only way that you know is by having it tested
Hi Gary, Your videos are very helpful. I have well water and I need to replace my water softener - someone recommended installing an Aquafeel water filtration system which would include a water softener. Before I invest in this system I wanted to know if you are familiar with the system and what your thoughts are using such a system.
Aquafeel water filtration uses the same Clack valve as ours but they use the older version. Should be okay but I prefer ours waterestore.com/products/hum-deluxe-water-softener-30-000-grain
I use a sediment filter before the booster to keep it clean also
Just as long as you make sure that filter never gets clooged.
Excellent video with great information. Thanks.
Would you recommend a chlorinator for the well water system?
Few months ago, I installed a sediment filter, then an auto backwashing sediment filter, then an iron filter, then a water softener, but the water deteriorated recently, with a small bad taste and smell. I know it is hard to know without a water test, but Should I try a chlorinator? Because the water has deteriorated, do you think I need to do some type of maintenance?
Yes, if it has deteriorated, I woudl look at maintenance first. I hate chlorination systems becasue they are complex, need a lot of maintenance and expensive. Plus, where does that chlorine end up? In your septic.
Great Video, now a subscriber! I am looking at an UP/Down flow calcite filter. Will this work for me to increase my ph levels? And is there any downside to using this type of acid filtration as opposed to a regen version? Thx!
It will work but I prefer the regen version as it mixes up the media when it backwashes so it lasts longer waterestore.com/products/ws-neutralizing-filter-calcite-1-0-cubic-foot
Thank you soo much.
You're welcome! Please share video with friends and family.
Can you place a filter between the Well and Pressure Tank? I believe that my tank gave out prematurely due to unfiltered water entering the most sensitive part of the system which is the badder. Thanks for the info in advance.
Yes you can, but I don’t recommend it. If that filter ever gets clogged you’ll burn out your pump
Thanks for the info!
So just to be clear in my head…
Well water to well water tank to water softener to water heater.
Is this the right flow of water?
Correct. Please share video with friends and family!
Hello Gary, Great Video! I have city water to my house and well water for my sprinkler system. i like to get a filter for the well water as back up for drinking water. is this possible?

This is a great video! Though my question is if a water softener goes before or after the uv light since the source comes from surface water that hasn't been treated by a municipal water plant? I bought a Rheem water softener and in the instructions they mention that if the water source could contain microbials (bacteria) they don't recommend to install it before a proper disinfection such as chlorine or uv light, so this is my dought. I know that well water is different than surface water in different aspects though.
Typically surface or lake water is soft so you don’t need a water softener. This video of mine talks about lake water ruclips.net/video/ml-oMaCplaE/видео.html

Hi Gary
I have arsenic in my water (3 & 5).
Where would the arsenic filter go in the line up? From what I read, it sounds like I would need to chlorinate the water before it goes to the arsenic filter to convert arsenic 3 to 5.
It goes after the iron filter but before the softener.
Gary, I have 0.084 Lithium in our well water. We installed a RO system under our sink, but I'm concerned about the water for the farm animals, and pets. Hi Gary, I plan to put all the water filters in the water well house. I'm just confused about the Reverse Osmosis filter, does that go connected to the line going to the refrigerator only? Or can it be placed on the water well house?
It goes to the fridge and a dedicated faucet at the kitchen sink which is why they are typically installed either under the sink or nearby in the basement or crawl space.
Here in the US, any water testing company you recommend to test water? I am on city water and seems like build up of calcium- white paste on a lot of the shower heads along with a red/pink scale in the shower or toilets if not cleaned often. What do you recommend I test for first?

No problem at all. I have pretty much all you see in this video since my well water is pretty bad but I still have great flow. Thanks for watching and please share video with friends and family.
If you don't change the sediment filters eventually it will dribble out but the rest of the system shouldn't make a noticeable difference.

@@GarytheWaterGuy Thank you so much. I noticed I have the 10 inch version, is there a huge difference between getting the 20 inch over the 10 inch? What are the benefits?
What I have found is the more filter you need to get good water, the lower your water pressure is going to be. Is there a way to install a large water holding tank installed after all the filtration systems, that would automatically stay filled, so a pump could work with this supply to supply water to your house, and keep water pressure up. I have tried a pump but it seems to not be able to pull water through the filter fast enough, basically captivates for lack of water. Do you know of any videos explaining how to do this?
As mentioned in this video almost no one would need all of the equipment shown. Yes, the more equipment you have it can affect the water pressure but as long as the equipment is in good shape the affect is minimal. Yes, you can install a storage tand with a repressurization pump like thiswaterestore.com/products/walrus-hq800h-self-priming-booster-pump-1-hp to pressurize water for the whole house. This video talks about it at the 3 minute mark. ruclips.net/video/SCANIla-NAU/видео.html

Hi, Gary, The once very good well water here suddenly has what I think may be white water mold. They say it's recognizable as looking like bits of tissue throughout the water in a clear jug, which is exactly what it looks like. After running the water through a piece of cloth, the white stuff left is very slimy. The water also stinks, and the smell seems more like sewer, and not a sulfur smell, but I could be wrong.
The property does not belong to me, and I am only here temporarily so I just need something inexpensive and basic to take care of my drinking water. Can you please offer advice on a filter or whatever to get my by for a short time? Thanks for your help...Kenny
You would need a Reverse Osmosis drinking water system like this waterestore.com/products/hum-cottage-water-75-gpd-r-o-drinking-water-system-with-guv-5s
Is there a big blue filter for removing iron taste and smell?
Iron yes but not the smell.
Great info in between those really annoying sound effects
Yes, we tried something new and it didn't work as well as I was expecting.
Where are these tanks and filters installed? My house is on a short crawl space. There wouldn’t be room for something as large as that softener system.
In a sutuation like yours, they would be installed in a closet or the garage.
If I wasn't planning on drinking the water and just needing the water to be good enough to put into an RV holding tank for use with sink for cleaning and toilet. Would I only need the sedament filter and uv filter? Or would I need more?
Assuming there is no color in the water, yes, that is correct unles it is very hard or has high iron.
Would the colour potentially cause degradation of the tank and hoses? Or would I be fine if it's a bit tinted.
Thanks.

Gary I need some help with a system please. We had this water treatment unit installed about 15 years ago. It has proven very effective but as part of a rebuild of the house the equipment was disconnected and we can't locate the information on the system that we need for set up.
The Iron removal unit was a WATERITE INC Mod. # is obscured but might be P339-10A TC 11.
It has a control head that resembles one you use in your video but the place where that unit has an air intake filter that you remove during the refresh process is fitted with a removable blanking plug and it appears the air for the unit is being introduced by a venturi type fitting in the well supply line. Between that device and the unit there is a Braukmann automatic air vent but it is rotated to the off position so not sure it does anything.
I’m concerned about that venturi device as a way to introduce the air needed as it represents a significant obstruction to the flow from the pump and must increase the head the pump is working against quite a bit.
Could the plug be removed from the control head and an air filter intake unit put in and if so would it likely continue to work as well as it has?
Great question, you have an "old school" air birm system. You are correct that they restrict the flow to create a venturi affect to draw in air to oxidize the iron out of the water. See ruclips.net/video/sx_j7W9z9FQ/видео.html Unfortunately your valve and your tank will not woirk with the air draw system. I had the same situation in my house and had to repalce the whole system. See ruclips.net/video/eZLeqXhbrAY/видео.html

hi…. for the sediment 1or5 micron filter, big white one, would there be one which the housing is clear so you can see if the filter is dirty?
Yes, we have these clear ones waterestore.com/products/viqua-awp40c-v-filter-housing but keep in mind that just because the filter looks dirty it doesn’t mean that it isn’t still filtering
@@GarytheWaterGuy thanks Gary, quick turn around on the answer.
Hi Gary
I’m in process of connecting our well to our new constructed house. I am no familiar with any filtrations system. A person from Gulligan company came and tested our water and recommended a sediment filter and 10” water softer which will removes some Iron in our water , he said we have a low iron problem s, but needs to be removed, also recommend reverse osmosis filter. Well, I have no problem with his recommendation, except the cost. Does your system provide the same functionality and we need to install R/o in basement with pump to go to 4 locations, can we do the same with HUM system. I would appreciate if you could answer to my concerns, because I want to install these before moving to the house.
Thank you
Yes, our equipment will do those things. If you can email us at info@waterestore.com and let us know where you are located we can help you.
We draw water from lake. If we use automatic backwash sediment filter, where should backwash be piped to? Back to lake? drywell? Pumphouse is at shore. House 70ft away and 20ft above.
you can just run it out on the ground out from your house. it is just water and sediment coming out. no chemicals or other substances coming out of the drain line.
If you don’t have freezing temperatures you can dump it outside. If you do have freezing flush into a dry well or septic tank.
@@GarytheWaterGuy EJ Robinson is right that it is just water and sediment. However, I asked because a plumber once said environmental rules might require it go to septic tank. Not practical in our case. Couldn't find a rule other than for swimming pool filters which can be discharged to ground.

So, it looks like it is an internal copper pipe degradation problem. Do you have a manufacturer that has such a filter. Thank you.
I have never seen one.
Ok, thank you!
Hello, I must ask, what is the difference between a 35,000 grain and a 64,000 grain water softener? Thank You Sir...
This speaks to its size or capacity. The 64,000 has almost double the capacity of the 35,000
So the spindown and backwash filters, etc. they need drains, that drains where? Can you update the graphic to show this?
The spindown drains into a bucket but the Automatic backwashing filter, iron filetr water softener and tannin filters all need drains. They can connect to any drain like a sump pump, or directly to your aBS drain lines above the the system under the floor above.
I'm exhausted after watching this. Do the last two filters remove the salt that the softener puts into your water? I don't like cooking or drinking salt pellets.
Yes, the reverse osmosis system removes any sodium that is in your water from before or after the water softener.
thanks you :-)
You're welcome! Please share video with friends and family.
How can I send you a sample of my water to figure out what system I need for my water? I have a lot of iron, I use at least 2 filters a month and still have to use iron out to wash white clothes and I use it in my toilet and other iron removing chemicals for other things like the bath tub, sinks...etc
Just follow the info at this link waterestore.com/pages/free-water-test-evaluation-the-water-estore
What’s the pressure drop after the filters, can’t the bladder be installed after all the filters ?
The amount of pressure drop would depend on a lot of factors but you would never notice it. No, the bladder is always before the filters. Otherwise if something before the bladder tank became clogged you would burn out your pump.
@@GarytheWaterGuy Interesting, I thought that a multi element filter would slow the flow significantly. I’m guessing the bigger filters have more surface area and less restriction, probably way more costly…Could a second bladder be installed after the filters, acting as a reservoir, to maintain pressure if need be ?
Do you still use all of this for city water?
Actually, you only use what you need not all of this for well water. There is much less for city water. Check out this video ruclips.net/video/8WqclY1aDdg/видео.html
Shouldn't the pressure tank be past the filters so there is no pressure drop after the filters?
No, the problem with doing it that way is, if ever a filter became clogged your would burn out your pump.
@Gary am from South Africa and I want to start water bottling business please advice with steps to follow to operate
Really your question is beyond the scope of this channel. But, You'll need to get your water tested to find out what treatment process you need to make the water the desired level of quality for bottling.
We added a whole home UV system as the water is testing bad, It failed with 2 Coliform after the install, So we had a pipe installed off the system so it was all new... and it failed again with 27 coliform... do I need to shock the well? I thought these systems were the way to go and killed it all
I'll bet whoever installed it did not disinfect the household plumbing as part of the installation. The problem is, the disinfected water will come into contact with the infected water that is downstream of the UV and reinfect it. This video explains how to disinfect it for your family either now or preferably, when the system is installed ruclips.net/video/cQyNRu5LqOM/видео.html
We Watched your video(Thank You) very helpful indeed. We have another issues after performing these steps...While running the water to remove the chlorine the well ran dry. What is the next thing to now.. We did the removing of the filters running the chlorine until smell and taste(spit) was gone and then put brand new filters in and that's when we ran dry when trying to run the water to make sure it was free of coliform and chlorine... Do we need to replace the filters since we ran the well dry or do we carry on as normal. We have had nothing but problems with this well, It was my fathers home now Estate And we are buying the home,,but no one can give a mortgage in Canada without water passing with 0 coliform. HELP
Any filters that remove plastic Phthalates?

I realize this is showing all possible filters but would you place a cartridge sediment filter before your backwashing filters? Since most home owners are not the best at keeping up with the maintenance of their filters, aren't you worried about them effecting flow rate during a backwash of one of your backwashing filters? Doesn't your Iron filter also remove sediments? Why no Chlorine/Hydrogen Peroxide injection? Don't you want to kill the bacteria before it passes through the filters so the slimly byproducts does not coat the medias inside the filters? That would make the costly replacement of UV bulbs redundant. I know it's residual income, but wouldn't killing the bacteria pre-filter be more effective and help oxidize so the filter can preform better? How well do the piston seals and spacers of those Clack valves hold up to well water?
No, I don't recommend a sediment cartridge filter before the Automatic backwashing filter. That's the backwashing filters job. Yes, iron filters can remove some sediment depending on the media. I don't like chemical injection systems, those chemicals will end up in your septic system. If you have bacterial iron you would need a chemcial injection system but that is about the only time I would recommend them. Yes, with a chemcial injection system you would not need the UV system, but chemical injection systems also require their fair share of maintenance. Not all filters are compatible with the chemicals used for chemical injection. Clack pistons and seals hold up extremely well to well water. We have been using them on well water for over 20 years.
What ppm should my water be at with a Whirlpool whse33? Thanks
After the water softener your hardness ppm should be 0.
@@GarytheWaterGuy thx Gary
*My farm has almost all of these filters for our system, but we also collect rain water as a primary source before our well is used.* The only thing hooked up to our well all the time are our outdoor hose spigots. Everything else goes through these filters before use within the house. My neighbor ratted me out for rainwater harvesting, and now I am in a dispute because I will not allow any Gov't officials on my property to inspect. They actually flew over my farm and took pictures from the airplane, and are suing me for access. *The judge has thus far denied their warrant applications, and I am currently in the process of burying all of my rainwater tanks & lines. I have also decided to construct a 'green wall' to screen out my neighbor (which also blocks her 'mountain views'), and along the road frontage.*
LAND OF THE FEE AND HOME OF THE SLAVE
I wish you good luck.
Hello, my well water was tested today, it has no iron, ph level are normal and it showed a small amount of sulfur. The water color is also brown. What kind of filter should I need. Thank you
Did you have it tested for tannins? If you have tannins you need this filter waterestore.com/products/hum-tannin-water-filter-removes-colour
The sound effects need a filter also. Great info though.
Noted! Please share video with friends and family
Just had my water tested as we have had some discolloration and staining. Thought it was from Iron but thinking now it is sediement. What solutions would be appropriate to add? Currently we have no filtration or water treatment solution for our well water. Have lived here for 8 years and only now are we having this issue.

Don’t forget to add is the water hammer arrestor.
Interesting you should mention that. I can't honestly remember the last time we installed one of those, likely 10+ years and have not had a concern whatsoever.
hi, our well water ph is real high about 10-11 and its about impossible to grow a decent garden cuz the ph of our water is so high. is there anything we can do?
You would need to add chemcials to your water (or soil) to compensate.
Why wouldn't I put a spin down or cartridge filter before my pressure tank?
Because if it ever clogged you would burn out your pump.
@@GarytheWaterGuy Thank you so much. I enjoy your channel and have learned a lot from it.
I have a sediment filter before the booster and I can see how dirty or how much iron discoloration their is and change it every two to three months works great just stay on top of it
Great video! My only complaint would be the sound effect that gave me a minor heart attack each time even when I anticipated it! Your voice level could have been higher...great and very helpful informative video!😀😉💯💢💯💥💫👌👊💪🤙hopefully my comment will be received as friendly and helpful...that is my intent.
Yes, that was one of my first attempts at adding sound affects to make it more interesting but they are on the loud side. Newer videos use sound affects better. Please share video with friends and family.
@@GarytheWaterGuy I figured as much that was a learning curve. So easy to criticize right? To be fair and honest, I never looked at how old the video was Well, I remember being taught to give helpful critique and interact with others without fear. You are a great, knowledgeable fellow, & obviously haven't fallen off the turnip wagon eh?. So, thumbs up to you Gary! Gold stars and A+'s👍👍💥💫💥🤙👌Onward and upward always learning eh!
I would use sediment filter before the storage tank.
Nope. If you did and it ever became clogged you would burn up your water pump.
Why no retention tank?
Because this is a chemical free system which does not require one.
why not put the sediment filter before the pressure tank? Don't the sediment goes to pressure tank and fill up the pressure tank?
Great question! If the filter ever became clogged your pressure switch would not shut off the pump which would burn it out. This is why we don't add any filtration before the pressure tank. Better off just to flush the pressure tank periodically.
My well water's ph is 9.8 and it really dries out my family's skin (very itchy) How do you fix that?
I have a Kenmore resin pellet water softener.
That is very high ph. Sorry I don’t know how to fix it.
I purchased a new home, and it doesn't have a sediment filter, it goes straight to softener. Is this a problem?
Depends, are you on a well or city water. If city water not necessary really as it's treated at the municipal plant, well systems depending on water quality may be a good idea. Also some softeners have a filter built inside of them like Hague units, again it all depends.
On city water you should have a carbon filter before the softener to remove the chlorine. Well water, a sediemnt filter will help protect your water softener from dirt clogging.
I was learning so much from the video that i didn't even notice any sound effects until i read the comment section...lol.
Glad you liked it. Please share with friends and family.
I miss when I could just drink water out of the tap.
The Industrial Revolution changed all of that
Very informative...but yes sound effects are too loud and annoying.
Thank you for the info.
Glad you liked it, sorry about the sound affects annoying you.
What about air gas in the well water
I have never heard of it.
@@GarytheWaterGuy you can light a match and put under and a flame will start
What about nitrates?
The reverse osmosis drinking water system will remove the nitrates
