You probably figured this out during the edit, but while Sun was talking about her English studies (she didn't learn English as a child) and her plan to leave Jin, you were talking at length about just how much you don't know Korean. Sun changed her mind at the last minute at the airport. You also talked through much of the dialog about Jin's job and how it affects their relationship. You've seen enough to understand Sun and Jin now, but don't worry - it will become more obvious as time goes on.

@@shadowcatreacts Further to what the above person said, after Sun got the puppy as a present, she asked Jin if he remembered when just getting her a flower was enough? So a year+ or so later when they were at the airport and he pulled out the flower, it reminded her of what they had and that she still loved him.
To clarify the airport Sun/Jin thing: They were on a planned trip, she was supposed to slip away unnoticed at 11:15 from the airport to get picked up. When she saw the flower, she had a change of heart and couldn't go through with it. And then they got on the plane.
I’ve always interpreted it as the flower reminds her of who Jin used to be and she desperately wants to believe that the Jinn she married is still in there.

I just can't get enough of people's reaction to their first time watching this great show! I wish I could go back to watch it again for the first time. :)
You edited out probably one of my favorite Charlie lines in the whole show. "I would have thought C's." After Kate says her shirt was full of bees. LOL

No, I don't think he knew she was going to leave. I think she was struggling with the decision, and when she saw the flower, I think she believed there was the man she fell in love with, somewhere inside of him still. So, she stayed.
I won't say there's no duds, there's a couple. But even a dud episode of Lost, to me, is still pretty good.
@shadowcat : Shy, I have been loving this rewatch! I have been watching along with Community (which I watch all the time), but because of your watch, I have dived back in for my first rewatch of LOST in about ten years! Yay!! I was an original-run LOSTy. When I tell you this show was iconic! Following the day it would air, it was all that my colleagues and I would talk about! Shy, as much as you're liking this now . . . well, It's about to get *really* good!

I personally at least "like" every episode of this show, but there are some noticeable standouts either way for sure. You're going to love it based on how in you already are.
Lost does a twist, every episode. This episode’s “twist” was Sun speaking English. May not be a BIG twist compared to others, but that’s the episodes reveal/twist.
As time goes on you'll learn more about Sun and Jin. They end up being one of my favorite couples.

Sun speaks English. We've split into two camps. Two bodies found in the caves, with two stones. Walt's birthday is 8/24. Jack wasn't checking out Kate's butt when he had a perfect chance. 😜
I would rotate the camps. 1/3 stay in the caves/shade and rest for the day, while 1/3 manages the firewood/signal fires on the beach, while the other 1/3 gathers supplies and hunts for food. But we don't have time for rational solutions!

Okay I watched like half this episode yesterday and I don't know what it says about me that during the fight between the guys I wanted them to make out lol. The husband is also Fire Lord Ozai in the new live action Avatar show on Netflix and his fine ass hasn't aged a day. That beautiful, beautiful man is a vampire is2g. So far my take is I don't care if any of the survivors die but if anything happens to the dog I will have an emotional breakdown. '____'
Anyway I'm gonna go binge the rest of this show lmao. Kinda rooting for the island.

Only 3 episodes of buffy in one month? Come on girl , I am not saying you should rush through rhe show but only watching 2 or 3 episodes a month isnt going to get you anywhere, it would take you years to get through the entire series if you even watch the entire thing which is 💯 percent worth the watch.
It seems most unlikely at this point, but Jin's and Sun's relationship will turn out to be the most beautiful love story you can imagine.
youre understanding of korean isn't great. you probably shouldnt talk on when words should and shouldnt be used and 'derogatory' words if you arent even sure what they mean.
I wasn't talking on when words should and shouldn't be used. I was saying that I know in a lot of cases 당신 is not a great use of 'you', and can be considered derogatory, but there are obviously cases where it's fine and I'm not familiar enough with Korean to know all of the cases when it is/isn't. What exactly is so bad about saying that?
What are you going on about? She didn't claim to be the arbiter of Korean, and she happens to be right.
당신 (dangsin) is a tricky word to translate directly to English but it basically means:
1. you (used in a literary, formal way)
2. honey, dear (specifically between husband and wife)
3. you (used in a negative tone, usually in a fight, which is probably what her friends meant by "derogatory" and why they told her not to use this word since its usage is tricky, especially for a foreigner learning the language)
4. you (used to indicate the person being explained in a sentence, which is the case here as well since the character used both 당신 and 당신의)
