- there is so much going on!! roy is making me cry, we've tied 7 times in a row, football is life but also death, but also just football. Rebecca is dating but not anyone special enough or deserving of her, Keeley stays being incredible, Nate is cracking the whip and we have some therapy going on. I can't wait until we see Roy back with the group in some capacity, like watching a game and I really hope we start winning so we can get that promotion!!!

Best part of the show, you don’t really need to know about soccer, football, cause the main character doesn’t know either.

My perception of Dr. Sharon is that she is establishing boundaries with the coaching staff right from the start. She's not there to be their friend, she's been called in to fix a problem they could not fix.

Phoebe's cursing tally was 1,236 and Keely's response was, "Impressive!" When Dr. Sharon asks Nate what their record is batting around the paper ball, he says 1,236 and her response: "Impressive." She's clearly trying to maintain a little professional distance, at least at first. But her attitude does make you uneasy.

17:38 - a goal scored from a corner kick is called an "Olimpico". It's crazy rare to see one. IIRC, Argentina won the Olympics with one in the 1920s, and the name just stuck. Before the World Cup, the Olympics were the soccer 'world championship'. Otherwise, Roy's 'stuck by lightning' speech was what let me know S2 was going to be amazing!

Dr. Sharon is an essential addition for this season. We were about due for someone in Ted's life who just isn't automatically charmed by his whole personality. I love Ted the character. But I can never entirely stop thinking that in real life he would be soon become insufferable.

Roy has been offered a pundit job at Sky Sports. Sky is a TV and internet channel in England, and Sky Sports discusses...sports. The show Sky wants Roy for discusses football every week and consists of 3 or 4 retired football players (aka pundits) with a moderator who presents topics and keeps the discussion moving.
In the US, we call that "ESPN."
@@elbruces Yeah, I've seen some ESPN on RUclips, it's just as bad as Sky Sports, maybe worse. I share Roy's opinion of the whole genre. Everything I've learned about English football I learned from independent UK football channels on RUclips.
The Presenter of Soccer Saturday - Jeff is not an actor he was the presenter of the show for over 20 years.
The 2 commentators Arlo & Chris are again not actors they are actual commentators (Chris was an ex footballer, even played for England)

When Keeley & Roy are sitting by the River. I used to work on the island behind them. It’s called Eel Pie Island it was infamous in the 1960’s for bands playing there. (Eg The Rolling Stones)

Roy is one of the best characters in TV history.
Without spoiling, I'll say that while you eventually could encounter moments in the show where you don't love him as much (or you may still...) ALWAYS have trust in the show writers (Brett Goldstein... Roy himself... is one of them) with regards to him.
