@@OldLadyReacts I am going to join you on your journey as a South East Londoner who has attended 1,770 Football matches, so I have Subscribed. You will love this series and this is set in Richmond, one of London's 32 Boroughs on the edge of South West London and an affluent area. They actually filmed this at Crystal Palace in South East London, which is why Richmond play in Red and Blue, the real colours of Crystal Palace and the stadium is all Red and Blue. You have your first verbal warning for saying "soccer" though😀
Please let me know if this is inappropriate, but here are the faces that I recognize in these first 3 eps and from where. I love British TV and you said you did, so... Rebecca - the Septa "Shame..." in GoT Higgins - Spratt in Downton Abbey Coach Beard - Jesus Loves Marijuana singer in one eps of Community Ted Crimm (The Independent) - an amazing little series called The Book Group Mae (pub owner) - Margaret the Slitheen in Doctor Who and Fleur in Midsomer Murders My first concert was also Alabama. Oh, that's so funny that your first was Alabama too! I love it. Mine was as the MN State Fair. I didn't realize that about Higgins, I totally remember him now! I haven't seen Dr Who (I've seen some but not all) or Midsomer Murders but I'm sure I know that pub owner from somewhere, I just haven't figured it out yet.
So glad I ran across your channel! We have similar reactions plus you add cultural, cinematic points I don’t know. Great editing, pithy commentary, fun personality. As soon as I get a bit ahead financially I’m going to add a tiny bit of tribute to show my appreciation. 😊

I'm definitely curious to hear the perspective of someone who is an actual football fan. Do you find the technical language to be accurate, for the most part at least? We do have a team here (MN United), but I never have seen a match.
@@OldLadyReacts Yes, in general. It is extremely rare for a new Manager to get heckled before a ball is kicked though. lol There are 92 Professional teams spread over the 4 main English Leagues:: 1/Premier League(accepted as the World's greatest( 2/ "Championship" 3/ Now, bizarrely called "Division 1" and 4/ "Division 2". Every team in every league plays each other, both, Home and Away and then after 38 games in the Premier League or 46 games in the other 3, a Champion is crowned and 3 sides are Promoted or Relegated each season. There is a $240,000,000 between playing in the Top 2 leagues !
Ted Lasso is a great series. Although that bit about it being a sport to stop boys doing the naughty is bollox. Football/soccer basically dates back to the middle ages as an organised way for two villages to have a fight/party :)
@edreed9189 it actually is part of the history of football. "The importance of football for character development took a ridiculous twist in the Victorian period. The Reverend Edward Thring, the eminent and powerful headmaster of Uppingham School, believed he had come up with a solution to the onanism epidemic facing Victorian Britain. He identified masturbation as symptomatic of weakness, and argued that the best way to stop boys ‘self-polluting’ was to toughen them up through football." But you are right it wasn't invented because of it. It did play a part in it though.
Nowhere near old enough to get the Supreme Court reference to pornography in it's original time frame, but I did appreciate your knowledge of the quote.
I'm looking forward to watching you watch this series. It is definitely one of the top three series I've watched over the last 10 years. With welcome to wrexham being number two. Peace!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Ted Lasso! You WILL enjoy the rest!
I'm already so into it!

The Book Group is the one that had The Hound from GoT right?

The Book Group has been on my list for a while now.
@@edreed9189 yes! I think the actor's name is Rory McCann or something close. It also has the Uh-May-Zing Michelle Gomez
@@OldLadyReacts Higgins also, makes music and I was shocked when I recently saw him interviewed as he looks quite different from his unsure character.
I recently binged Ted Lasso. Totally worth it.
Looking forward to your reactions!
Share the fun!

92! I had no idea there were so many. Are those all over the world or just in the UK? There are only 32 in American football!
This show is sooooo feel good. youre gonna love it!
