Michael Giacchino's score does an amazing job of elevating every scene.
"I'm not an emotional dude" Bookmarking that one! 😂This show still has that affect on me now after about 10 rewatches and the music definitely plays a big part. Michael Giacchino who did the score for the show is just incredible and he's responsible for so many great movie soundtracks these days too (he won an Oscar for his work on Pixar's UP).
This was the episode that hooked most viewers to Lost.

Nothing to apologize for..an all time classic episode. This was the episode of LOST that reeled me in for good....I knew from this moment onward that LOST was like no other TV show ever made....and this is just the beginning....LOST is a crazy good show with more twists and turns than a 5 mile colon inside a tornado....hope you're ready... small edit....THE greatest show ever...
So happy you are watching Lost. Yes, it's the music. Did you hear the boar squealing when Locke was looking up at the "thing"? Maybe Locke didn't kill the boar. This is my favorite show. Please stay with it. Your audience will grow once the word gets out to all of the faithful Losties. Be blessed.

Did you catch the interesting sounds as Locke's 'TPS report flashback' cut to black? Probably not, seems like most viewers don't...and "That's just really implausable..." Well, welcome to Lost 😂. If you rewatch this ep (and a lot of others) you catch a lot things you missed...like when he's on the phone with Helen, there's a machine on the table, which stimulates his leg muscles to help keep muscle mass. And his boss Randy's unofficial middle name is 'd-bag.'
You're 100% correct about the music as many have said. There's been several Lost music concerts over the years, and there's one coming up in Oahu (where almost every scene of the show was filmed) April 27th. If I'd found out about it sooner, I'd be there, bummed I won't make it.
I went to the concert! It was absolutely amazing! Hopefully they do more :)
