She denies any wrong doing "whatever I supposedly did!", she makes out with a married father while his family is away, she abuses her "friend's" powers at the hospital, she physically attacks a cop at the hospital, she wants to steal her "friend's" car, she causes his death, she runs from the law. What a good person.
And self righteous "You really think I'm capable of that?" So she's saying she's not capable of drugging someone...just giving the idea for someone else to drug someone...and attempts to steal someone's identity. IDENTITY THEFT IS NOT A JOKE!
You are not alone in your feelings about Kate. That said, I think EL did a great job with the character as she was written, but Kate is not in my top 5 for sure. Big vote YES on the tier list at the end of the season. 🤙🏻
I like Kate. She's not a bad person. Not in my top 5 but not at the bottom of the list either. A bad person wouldn't put an oxygen mask on the man who arrested her. A bad person would have run away instead of saving the man who gave her to the marshal for $23,000 from his burning car and would not demand that this same man receive that amount of money. A bad person would not save the banker from the thugs and would not have asked that no one be hurt during the robbery. A bad person would not go to see his dying mother. A bad person wouldn't ask their childhood friend to get out of the car multiple times. So okay, she makes bad choices, she doesn't want to go to prison, she's manipulative. But it’s true that the other characters have always made the right choices, own up to their mistakes and do nothing to achieve their goals. Oh no, they do that too. There must be some bad people on this island, and not just Kate. 😂 But I guess it is a question of opinion.

This is my least favorite episode of the whole show too! I hate it on a re-watch, it just slows show down before awesome 1st season finale. P.S. You remind me Artz a bit with your mannerism! He is a funny Lost character, I like him a lot.
