It's the episode that defines if you're going to like the show or not. Everytime I convince someone to watch Lost, I'll say: watch it till eps 4. Then you'll decide. If the person is not convinced by this episode, then just let her go.
That ending reveal of Locke on the beach scene is absolutely amazing. The music building and building, then Locke getting to his feet and standing there with a smile while everything around him is in total chaos. The scene hits me so much more now then when I saw it in real time.
Although comparing people hitting themselves in the head and becoming artistic to the spine injury is silly. I'm not saying that something like what was depicted couldn't have happened - I don't know - but the biological circumstances are entirely different.
lmao yeah, where I'm from it just means you have bored kids nearby. I've tossed a few up myself, now I'm laughing imagining someone wasting their time trying to find a prostitute or something in my boring old suburban neighbourhood.
You guys have such great observations that very few others have on their first watch. This is one of my favourite episodes, those last 5 minutes are incredible. Could see Hogwarts starting to tear up!
I was so glad when I saw you guys were reacting to LOST!!! It was one of my favourite show's I used to be excited every week to watch it! I love the editing in this the Shannon Boon edit I am dying laughing LOST will always be one of my favourite shows, especially the early seasons.
My favorite Lost ep. is The Constant. I can’t wait till they get to it. The ending of that episode is soooo emotional and powerful. I’ve watched it dozens of times and it still makes me cry.
@@HogwartsReacts Wasn't the Bosom Buddies theme song Billy Joel's "My Life"? Even back then I thought that was pretty interesting - using a "real song" instead of writing one for the show. Hmmm...looking it up on Wikipedia...it says in syndication and home video they replaced "My Life" with a different song. Music rights are so complicated. Reminds me of one of my other favorite shows, "Northern Exposure" which had a ton of quirky songs sprinkled throughout the series but when it was released on home video all the songs were replaced by generic "elevator music". Ugh.

I'm saving up my pennies to buy it. And we are still better off than Dawson's Creek fans because when that show came out on DVD they couldn't even get the rights to THEIR OWN THEME SONG. I am not kidding and it is hilarious to me.
Oh man. Your reaction to the Locke reveal at the end was absolutely the reason why I watch reaction videos. I was one of the few who was "lucky" enough to watch this show as it aired, and to this day I have a lot of my own little nitpicks and theories about things that I may or may not get into in future comments. I am in this for the long haul, let's go!
I still have tears while watching the last scene even though I have rewatched the entire series around 7-8 times, his happiness among the chaos that is happening after the crash, for everybody else the crash is their absolute low point of life but for Locke it is his destiny.

Love this new series, guys. I was a BIG fan of the show when it originally aired, but I have actually never seen any of the episodes more than once. So, this is very cool to "relive" them -- and have things called to mind again that I had completely forgotten about. I can't wait until Hogwarts and Crew meet Desmond for the first time. ;-) Cheers!
One of the things I remember about watching the first season was trying to figure out what GENRE this show was. What are the "rules"? Is it sci-fi? Fantasy? Or are there logical explanations for everything? So fun!
@@jmwild1 Regarding Star Wars - I personally don't consider Star Wars to be science fiction. I guess I'd call it "space fantasy" or something. The "science" (i.e. the space ships and laser guns) aren't really important to the story. The same story could've been set in a fantasy setting. For me, in science fiction the science should be integral to the story - like "what if robots were indistinguishable from humans". Just my two cents.

When I was a kid growing up in 70s England, there was 2 reasons for pumps/trainers/sneakers being on a wire. 1. A bully threw their victims pair up there as a 'joke'. 2. Someone threw an old pair up. Don't think is was ever anything to do with drugs or prostitution.
Where i am from; White shoes hanging typically mean someone is ..(dun dun dun).....simply drying their shoes out from a wet nasty hike or outdoor activity...LOL! Didn't know in the city it has some hidden significance ..baha! Anyway, love being back and watching Hogwarts react to Lost! I went away for a while after GoT, but now i'm back on another journey with you guys :)

Whenever I recommend LOST to friends, I tell them to get past the first 3 episodes and wait to decide after watching Episode 4, as that defines how the stories are told hereafter. So good!!

Dipping back again after so long. Her making the statement about the muscles being atrophied after not using his legs for four years is spot on. That's why it can't just be, the airplane crash fixed him. Whatever happened, completely erased and reversed his condition. That in itself absolutely points to some kind of higher power.
