- Hello Everyone! Today I will be pearl cell puddle pour & dutch pour combo. This is unique because typically metallic paints do NOT work well as a pour over color BUT with Modern Masters Metallics it's possible and BEAUTIFUL!

Materials I used in this demonstration:
10"x20" Gallery Wrapped Level 3 Canvas (ARTIST LOFT)
Amsterdam: Sky Blue Light (straight from the tube)
Modern Masters: Pale Gold
This Little Piggy Pigments (TLP): Ballet Slipper
Custom Blue Grey
Custom Light Blue Grey
Colored Pearl Recipe:
4 parts Behr Satin Enamel Deep Base 7753 Scuff Defense OR 2 parts Behr Premium Plus Deep Base 7300
3 parts US Floetrol
2 parts tube paint or 1 part fluid paint (to tint)
1.5 parts Golden Gloss Color Pouring Medium (Or 1 prt GAC800 & 1/2 prt Liquitex Pouring Medium)
Water to thin (approx 4 parts depending on Behr satin enamel ratios)
White Pearl Cell Recipe:
2 Pts Behr Premium Plus Deep Base 7300 or 1/2 pt DecoArt Satin Enamel White
1/2 part Artist Loft Paint
1/2 part Apple Barrel White
1/2 part Liquitex Titanium White
3 Parts US Floetrol
1.5 Parts Golden Color Pouring Medium Gloss (or 1 pt GAC 800 plus 1/2 pt Liquitex Pouring Medium)
Water to thin (approx 2 pts)
Pouring Medium for PUDDLE/POUR OVER/DUTCH POUR paints:
50% Floetrol 50% Golden GAC 800 (or Golden Color Pouring Medium Gloss)
Puddle & Dutch Pour Paints mixed 1 pt paint to 5 pts PM and water to consistency (tube paint approximately 1 part water, fluid paint no water) (This is the ratio for highly pigmented paints like Golden, Amsterdam, Pebeo, etc)
No silicone used for cells. It was all the layering of the paints that made those cool effects.

Love, love, love this technique of your’s, Tara. It’s my favorite - I’ve gotten so-so at doing this - one in particular got many comments in my acrylic pouring group on Facebook. But I’ve got a long way to go to . It’s by no means an easy technique and not only does it take practice, but the results may not always be what you want. That goes for any pour technique actually, but this one is my favorite so it’s one I’d like to really improve on. Thank you, Tara, for your wonderful instruction and sharing your beautiful pieces with us. ❤

Thanks Patty! Sooo…I would do a test tile before you invest in a canvas with th AL Gold. Honestly most golds will not pearl. The Modern Masters are different…I think because they are opaque and semi-opaque paints. They react differently than most metallics. That being said…if u try the AL gold let me know. I’d be interested to see how it works! 🙏🏻☺️❤️
