- Hello everyone! Today I am sharing with you the a soft and serene pearl pour that I was experimenting with some more earthy neutral colors. All recipes are below!

Materials I used in this demonstration:
1 - 11"x14" Level 2 Artist Loft Canvas
Modern Masters: Pearl White
TLP: Caramel Drizzle
Golden Fluids: Titanium White, Burnt Umber
Custom Blue/Grey
NEW WHITE PEARL CELL RECIPE:
3 Parts Flood Floetrol - US
1.5 Part DecoArt Satin Enamel - Pure White
1.5 Part Golden Color Pouring Medium Gloss
2 Part Blickrylic Student Paint - Titanium White
NEW COLOR PEARL CELL RECIPE:
3 Parts Flood Floetrol - US
2 Parts Behr 7300 Satin Enamel - untinted
1-2 Parts paint of choice (or .5 part fliuid paint)
1.5 Golden Color Pouring Medium Gloss or GAC 800
Pouring Medium for PUDDLE/POUR OVER/DUTCH POUR paints:
50% Floetrol 50% Golden GAC 800
Puddle & Dutch Pour Paints mixed 1 pt paint to 4-5 pts PM and water to consistency (This is the ratio for highly pigmented paints like Golden, Amsterdam, Pebeo, etc)
No silicone used for cells. It was all the layering of the paints that made those cool effects.

I've never been a fan of brown either. I think the avocado green and brown shag carpets and brown everything😬 in the 70s and early 80s turned me off. But, since watching Cathleen, I've learned to embrace these new rich browns. Your custom blue has a cool tone to it, and it harmonizes beautifully with the carmel drizzle. You described it perfectly, Tara, it is very serene. And to me, the peacock pearls give it that modern pop that makes it really pleasing to look at. I can't wait to see your larger piece! I'm sure your client is thrilled! If it was me, I would want both pieces!😊 I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁

I really love this piece 🤎. Tara regarding that pearl white & titanium mix, do you mix that the same as the rest of your colors? You & Sara T. get it to play nice but my basecoat keeps eating mine lol.
Thanks so much! So as far as the white pour over paint… I do mix it exactly the same. That being said I am not a fan of using Amsterdam titanium in my pour over paint. It gets eaten up…so it could be the titanium white you are using. Just a thought…🤷🏻♀️🙏🏻☺️❤️
@@PiecesofTaraArtistry nice, thanks so much for the info. I use golden fluid to tint but I think I used too much deco art in my base. Still trying to find that sweet spot.
@@bostonbutterfly4473 Thst could definitely be the case. Are you using the DecoArt colored satin enamels in your base or the white? And how much are you using?
@@PiecesofTaraArtistry yes. Half part to 1 part artist loft… I didn’t measure so it could be a bit more. I’m currently toying with adding small amounts of it to the translucent base coat. (Unfortunately made a big batch), I need a spinal fusion so I thought I was doing myself a favor lol.
I tried to pearl past winter with not luck, finally seeing you use specific products. I am asking for clarification on two products. 1(Modern Masters Pearl White- this is not the similar name at hobby lobby, correct. I only fond it after I googled it. 2)decorate satin ename Pure Whitel I can only find on Amazon and only able to buy 2 or 3 jars of it, not able to buy 1. Getting these two items gets pricey. Love the result, but need to know I am buying the right things. Is there an easier way to communicate with you. Willing to do a video lesson but want to have all I need before I do that. Joanne

1. Modern Masters Pearl White can be found at Hobby Lobby in 6 oz jars but is not to be confused with the brand that Hobby Lobby sells which is Masters Touch.
2. Decoart Satin Enamel Pure White is available from Amazon, Decoart directly, Michael's and other retailers in the US. Outside of the US I am unfamiliar with where to buy them and what quantities they are available.
