- Hello Everyone! Today I am doing a Shelee Art Bloom on a fun Fall Pumpkin Lazy Susan I found at Target. I have found that my bloom cells have been melting lately and it has been very frustrating SOOOO I went to the Shelee Art Facebook Group for some answers and I wasn't disappointed! In my previous video I show my solution. Here again I am playing around with another varnish to wet my pigments and I actually don't know if its the varnish or my consistency that made theses cells melt BUT I still actually love it and I'm not mad that my cells melted a bit. I hope you all like this piece as much as I do! I have listed all of my colors and recipes below.

PILLOW PAINT: PPG Multi-Pro White & Pastel Base in Eggshell
POURING MEDIUM (mixed with all paints except CA):
Valspar Ultra High Gloss Paint/Primer Base C (from Lowe’s) Untinted Paint
WET PIGMENTS TO DISPERSE: SMALL AMOUNT OF VARATHANE TRIPLE THICK - WATER BASED
PAINT TO POURING MEDIUM RATIO:
TUBE PAINTS: 2 OZ PM TO 1 TSP PAINT (ADD ADDITIONAL PAINT IF NEEDED)...

Good morning, Tara! I love your pumkin! The new TLP's are really pretty. I like the contrast between the gold, NAG, and the bloodstone. It made the perfect color for a pumpkin. I Love functional art! I think it's wonderful when just your average person can have some original art in their home. I'm sure that your sister loves this time of year because sage goes perfectly with fall colors. I personally always loved mustard, deep purple, and sage together with lots of gold and copper, of course😏. Give your sister a squeeze, I just found out that mine passed away. Life is so short, but creating gorgeous things like you do and sharing with others, it is a big, beautiful, and full life!😊🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁

Hi there. I love these colors. They were not on my buy list for today’s order. But they are now. I cannot wait to order my TLPs tonight. So I am loving these colors together. I think that the bloodstone is stunning. Wow. Beautiful. So I have been in love with melting cells. I’m finding that blooms are in the eye of the beholder lol. Simply gorgeous and we don’t have target in Alberta any longer🥹was thinking , do you leave the lid off of the housepaint or pouring medium paint to thicken it a little?
Thanks Sherry! I’m sorry Target isn’t available there. 😩 I have left the lid off of my pillow paint to thicken it up before but I always forget to stir it often and I end up with huge skins on top. I usually will use a little bit of gel gloss medium to thicken up my paints a tad but forgot to do that this time. Oh well…live and learn right?!?!?!😆❤️🙏🏻☺️
When I use thinner paint my cells melt so I am surprised at how thin yours is.
Hi Karen! I have found that its the josonja varnish that causes cell melting...not necessarily the thin paint. I have completely eliminated varnish in my blooms and have had fabulous results even with thinner paints.
