- Fluid art inspirational video! Back at it with this large painting. Im using a few different techniques here in a free form style. This was all about rich purples and contrasting warm colors. I introduced a solvent based paint called Vitrail that dramatically changed the look of the painting and I LOVE it! PLEASE when using this type of paint wear gloves and a full respirator. The body is a temple.

When I watched you create this stunning piece one word kept popping up in my mind, "chrysalis ". This painting went through so many metamorphoses it was like watching a butterfly coming to life from a caterpillar. It was fascinating and it filled me with questions. Ha! It can be stressful.. on both sides of the screen. I ended up with way to much paint and had to make a big move 😂

If so l love how the orange mixed with gold looks more subdued. Fascinating painting, love abstract. I love to watch you create! I am in awe, and I want so badly to paint like that. You inspire a hunger in me to create. This painting is awesome as are all your paintings. I was sad to see the beautiful burgundy reduced to just the one corner, and although I am not an orange lover I really like the vibrancy of the orange color which was pretty much gone by the end. I hope I see you use those colors again.
So glad you loved these colors, I did too! To bring out the hunger and other artists is what I’m starting to live for, I absolutely love that!

I did laugh when you cupped your hands and scooped up excess paint in the middle. Thin acrylics look like water color a bit. This is a good technique for a large canvas as it is hard to tilt such a large canvas, too heavy. Love the outcome. Thanks as always.
That’s so funny, yeah, it was one of those moments where I just realized I had too much paint on the canvas! Sometimes that’s how it goes… Lol

I just fell in love with you all over again...for about 20+ reasons! This is BRILLIANT. It is as bold and brave as I have seen you in a long time. First I love BIG! I especially love the various ways you added subtle texture. Everything was purposeful, rather than the randomness of much fluid art. (Too much!) The colors choices were such that it also impacted depth and movement. You new "video system" enhances everything. OK...I need to stop before this becomes a book chapter listing all 20+ reasons I love this piece and you. 😉 But I have a question...why did you put on a respirator? Was it because that was when you used the solvent based paint?
Michelle, you are just absolutely incredible, the way you love on me and support me is just so beautiful. Thank you! The solvent based paints do put off some older, I do like to put a respirator on, especially when I’m working with this much of it! I actually might step away from it until I get a HEPA air filter in my studio.🙏❤️🙏❤️

Hi Sara! How are you using the vitrail? I have been trying for a long time in my painting and don't get any of those beautiful cell formations. they are just blob/dots in the pour. Is there something you mix the vitriol with? thank you!!
I don’t actually mix it with anything, I think part of the reason I get such a big cells with this particular technique is because the paints are all mixed, extremely thin.👍

Sorry for late reply, yes, it is a self and pains. I’m actually kind of moved away from them because of the fumes.

I mix the white mixture with GAC magic, the colors are all mixed with just GAC 800 flow troll, and Liquitex p.m.

Vitrail that I used at the end does put off fumes., I do recommend using gloves and a respirator, when using solvent based paints.🤙
The acrylics I’m using for the rest of the painting, or not nearly as toxic.
What did you use for the sand
Liquatex sand medium, worked great!
