- Acrylic pouring pearl cloud-over technique, inspirational video. This was a really fun commission painting, I love the size, depth and drama with this one. It reminded me much of the beautiful Australian Eucalyptus. I hope they love it!

I’m an at home mama/ professional and experimental artist. I do commission and gallery work in my small mountain community, Sandpoint Idaho.
Basecoat:
* 2 parts floetrol
* 1 part artist loft flow white
* 1 part satin enamel
* .25 part GAC 800
* Water to thin
Puddle Paint (colors):
* 1 part paint (less with golden fluids)
* .5 part floetrol
* Squirt of liquatex pm
* Water to thin, similar consistency to base
Cloud over mix:
* 1 part floetrol
* 1 part satin house paint
* Touch of satin enamels
* Acrylic paint color if tinted
* Water to thin

Sarah, your work is exceptionally beautiful, and in all, your style and grace shine through. I can identify a Sara Taylor a mile away, lol! Yep, you've got a fan and "student" here, binge-watching you and others you collaborate with. I'm still at the stage of mixing the paints just right, then going through quarts of it with bad pours! Just when the paint is perfect, I think I get nervous when pouring and need to slow down with the tilting, work on composition. It takes time (and courage!) to just relax and work within the process, let it happen organically. And then leave it alone!!! Thank you for all the time & effort you spend showing us how you do it!

Hey Laurie! Thank you so much. State fair! I love it! Honestly, I think anybody can be self-taught. I have a bit of art background but nothing major. I will say that ever since my early teen years I really enjoyed art, watercolor and acrylic. Fluid art has definitely been my most successful medium! I don’t think I’d get into as much detail about the basics of some other RUclips artists. Tammy Anderson is incredible teacher when it comes to fundamentals. Depending on the style that you like I’m also happy to recommend other good teachers! I learned from studying old MelyD videos... And I mean studying them! When I started practicing it was pretty bad, I had to scrape a lot of canvases before I got used to thin paint. From there it really grew into my own style.
