This is absolutely beautiful and amazing technique and great end results! Thank you for sharing this beautiful painting with us it’s so inspiring and very creative!
Oh my gosh we get to see your Beautiful Face and studio. It’s so good to see you. Oh my gosh those colors are so refreshing to eyes. I always watch your videos in the morning and I get hungry and now I want white chocolate with cranberries mmmmmm. It’s so pretty Meta
Hi Meta, I just met you on this video and believe I might follow you to the ends of the earth!!!! Lol….. I’m just starting on pearls. Watched several videos with recipes, ordered more products I didn’t have yet and could you believe I’m waiting to pick up AL white at Michaels and watched the Sarah Taylor video talking about how the current AL white is a different recipe and modifications are needed with even more products I don’t have. Super frustrated! So, back to researching and I stumbled on this video. Absolutely love this piece. The simplicity. The clean, clear pearls. Phenomenal! Absolutely love your recipe. I have all the parts. Yippee!!! Going to give it a try now. Thank you!
Hi Mary Beth, I'm so happy you found this video too! I absolutely adore Sarah Taylor, but I've never mangaged to find the products she uses, and I am HUGE on keeping things as simple as possible! lol Wishing you all the success on your pearl pours! Be sure to check out the step-by-step mixing video, The consistency is really the key to success!
I wasn’t as successful on my first attempt as I had hoped to be but I will try again tomorrow. I have an odd theory about wooden stir sticks sucking up the water from my cup of mixed paints while I’m mixing the other colors so that it ends up being too thick when I’m ready to do my pour. I used wood today because I wanted a break from washing the plastic ones every day but I’m going back to plastic tomorrow
Lovely. I think I will try this tomorrow!! I need a mental break from tax work!! I have all the products finally!! Thank you for such a nice explanation 😎❣️
You may have just saved my sanity. I tried so hard last night to do this as my new jar of satin enamels came in the mail w some other paint stuff. I watched videos, took notes and failed HARD. All i could say was how frustrated I was because when i do something right, i don't always know what I did, and when i do it wrong, I've got to pinpoint the wrongdoing. Not willing to waste more paint i decided not to go nuts trying more last night and come back maybe today. I'm going to try this with just the 2 colors to spare my paints. Also i am certain my paint was too thick even though i thought it was thinned out. Beautiful work hun!!
I'm so glad it helped you! And as someone who tries and failed many times with this technique I really understand the frustration. The paint needs to be really thin. Like really, really, thin. The key is to add water very slowly. So it doesn't break the bonds of your paint. But add water until the paint doesn't even leave a trace when it drizzles back Into the cup. That's how thin it has to be to get this kind of effect.
@@MetaPours yes. I only do a cap from a water bottle at a time. I've accidentally surprised myself by adding water by gently pouring it in and ending up w way too much. Not to sound nursery rhythmy, but once the bonds break the paintings will fall. 🤣🥺
I love it .. I would like to see a video of you do the mixes .. because I’ve got the stuff to do a Pearl pour .. and I’ve not got brave enough yet to try it… I just wanna make sure I’m doing it correctly and not wasting the paint
I am always trying to remind myself that as well! It's easy to take things too seriously. This is my down time, my relaxing time. So lets laugh and have a good time.
@@MetaPours Agreed! Even if I feel discouraged and want to cry and give up, I try to remember those amazing paintings that I accidentally did and know that can happen any time!
I tried your recipe and it worked great. I experimented too and cut out the floetrol completely. 1 pt acrylic flow and 1 part satan enamel paint with a smidge of liquitex then water to thin. Top colors: mont marte paint with water only. Got tons of pearls. Would love to send u the pic.

Love the look of this piece, how long a time before you shouldn't try and add some embellishment to your painting? Love the gold you added. Yes would like a video on your mixing satin enamel paints
That' a good question Barbara! I've never added wet paint to wet paint embellishments more than an hour or so after I pour. If the paint is at all tacky I wouldn't suggest it any longer. I have added embellishments after the painting has completely dried though!
Omgosh Joanne, I just realized RUclips held one of your comments for review. I think because it linked your channel? (which is awesome by the way) And now it's just gone... I just wanted to tell you that I never saw it, or I would have been over to check out your channel much sooner. You're so talented, and I'm glad you started a channel!
Nicely done! Since you are using a 2:1:1 ratio of Floetrol, satin enamel, and Artist Loft, the amount of water you need for the desired consistency should be the same for each size batch. Have you considered premixing the water with the Floetrol? It may save a little time since Floetrol mixes easily with water. Then you can mix the diluted Floetrol with the satin enamel and Artist Loft.
I love this and can't wait to try your recipe! I have attempted many without success and so I'm hoping this time it will work! Love this piece, simply beautiful!

Sometimes less is more. Thank you for sharing your process.
Thank you so much Mew I really appreciate that!!! I do use floetrol to mix my colors as well. Here is a video to how I mix my paints (In general) ruclips.net/video/f6hOwO_SgG0/видео.html I can't remember if I was adding a "dash of Liquitex" yet when I filmed that video. But I do add a small amount of Liquitex Pouring medium whenever I'm mixing paints because regardless of technique, I find the Liquitex helps my paintings dry with a lovely satin finish I prefer over the matte finish Floetrol alone will create.

Hi Tara, only the white base has the satin enamel in it.
What is the date on your Artists Loft flow acrylic? They changed there formula and the ones dated 2020-22 will give you the pearls cells.
It's Artist Loft Soft Body (not sure when they changed the name) and the date on the bottle says 2021-01. I bought it at my local Michaels a couple of weeks ago.
