- Hello Everyone! Today I will be pearl cell Dutch pour with a black base and go old pour over! This is unique because typically metallic paints do NOT work well as a pour over color BUT with Modern Masters Metallics it's possible and BEAUTIFUL!

Materials I used in this demonstration:
10”x20" Gallery Wrapped Level 3 Canvas (ARTIST LOFT)
Amsterdam: Sky Blue Light, Titanium White
Modern Masters: Pale Gold
Rustoleum Metallics: Champaign
This Little Piggy Pigments (TLP): Zeus
Colored Pearl Recipe:
4 parts Behr Satin Enamel Deep Base 7753 Scuff Defense OR 2 parts Behr Premium Plus Deep Base 7300
3 parts US Floetrol
2 parts tube paint or 1 part fluid paint (to tint)
1.5 parts Golden Gloss Color Pouring Medium (Or 1 prt GAC800 & 1/2 prt Liquitex Pouring Medium)
Water to thin (approx 4 parts depending on Behr satin enamel ratios)
White Pearl Cell Recipe:
2 Pts Behr Premium Plus Deep Base 7300 or 1/2 pt DecoArt Satin Enamel White
1/2 part Artist Loft Paint
1/2 part Apple Barrel White
1/2 part Liquitex Titanium White
3 Parts US Floetrol
1.5 Parts Golden Color Pouring Medium Gloss (or 1 pt GAC 800 plus 1/2 pt Liquitex Pouring Medium)
Water to thin (approx 2 pts)
Pouring Medium for PUDDLE/POUR OVER/DUTCH POUR paints:
50% Floetrol 50% Golden GAC 800 (or Golden Color Pouring Medium Gloss)
Puddle & Dutch Pour Paints mixed 1 pt paint to 5 pts PM and water to consistency (tube paint approximately 1 part water, fluid paint no water) (This is the ratio for highly pigmented paints like Golden, Amsterdam, Pebeo, etc)
No silicone used for cells. It was all the layering of the paints that made those cool effects.

I think it's so cool! It has a wild African feel to it. Different is good! You wait someone is going to contact you soon and want this piece. Every painting I'm not in love with, somebody thinks it's genius. This was a nice surprise, I've been sick and feverish all night. So when you popped up it gave me a boost. Wow 😲 Taraaa!?! Regardless if the dutch pour portion dried bad or not you brought this baby back to life!!! Thanks Johanne! Yes, it’s not good for a pour over color…BUT what I forgot to say is that rustoleum metallics ARE good in the dutch pour portion because they will hinder too many pearls from popping up in dutch pour part. Oops…probably should have mentioned that. 🤦🏻♀️❤️☺️🙏🏻

What supports or leg do you use under your canvas?
Hello Georgia! I used jumbo push pins under my canvas mostly. Unless I am using my spinner and then I use cups. 🙏🏻☺️❤️
How much water did you add? Its not in the recipe card? I figured 2 pts paint so 2pst water and its not celling.
1st of all the consistency needs to be very thin to where in creates a vortex when the paint is drizzled off the stick 1 inch from the surface of the paint. Each paint is different in viscosity so you will have to determine how much water to add. 2. Are you using satin enamel only in the base paint recipe? You only use it in the base paint. The pour over colors have no satin enamel. They are just paint, floetrol, gac800 and water to thin. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask! ☺️
