    As usual, I learned something new and was reminded (Very important) of the things I need to do to get a successful piece. I really don't need to be "wonked out" I think I'm enough of that in life and my paintings😄. I'm just going to have to do my best until I use the can of 7300 I have. I wondered if you would get the best of both products. (I love experimenting) I don’t have these products on hand as I have to drive 50 miles to get them or I would try right now lol. But I thought I’d share the idea with you. I will probably try in the future. Also, have you ever tried beer gloss enamel to get pearls? Thank you for your videos, you’re a blessing! Happy painting!

    Can a latex enamel give you pearls if thinned down, I having a hard time with some paint by Sherwin Williams called Opulent and its eggshell but it says enamel on the can. Its really rich and thick. Hard to use as a pillow so I wondered is it because its enamel. Its really white, extra white. And I have lots of satin enamel from DecoArt, so I just want to know if its the wrong type for pillow or pearls. Thanks so much!! Its nice paint! I got it free. Hope I can use it.

    • @PiecesofTaraArtistry
      @PiecesofTaraArtistry  2 года назад

      Hi Bramstayer. I have never used that type of paint. It might not pearl because it is an Eggshell Finish. What you want to look for is Satin Finish. It really is the Satin Enamel that you want to use to make pearls. That being said…you can try it in the recipe. I honestly can’t tell you yes or no because I have never tried it. Sorry I couldn’t be more help. ☺️❤️🙏🏻

      @@PiecesofTaraArtistry thanks for your time! Its not the paint that's the problem, I know that now; its me! I had some paint mixed in the bloom PM for 2 months & I was trying to use them but instead I thinned them out and they became nice thinner transparents & i did a Molly-inspired puddle pour with 2 swipes of Aussie Floetrol. Its ok & at least i didnt waste any paint. I will be trying some coloured pearls with YOUR method one day! Still learning the basics. There is a video of yesterday's work if you wanna see it. For people in other countries that want to follow recipes like these but we don’t have the same product names that you have , is there something special about these particular name products, or can we substitute for something similar, for example, with the behr satin enamel that everyone mentions could I use any satin enamel or is there something different about the behr brand ……or the liquidex brand etc etc …. I know your floetrol is very different to ours , I’m Australian, your floetrol costs a fortune to get delivered here ….

      So, because I’m not in Australia it is hard for me to recommend products. That being said, yes you can substitute satin enamels. Behr is just one that is known to work here in the US. DecoArt Satin Enamel is one you may be able to get in Australia. You can substitute your floetrol as well. The reason for Liquitex PM is as a binder because you are using so much water it needs a binder to help keep the pigments together. You could substitute any binder. Here is a video you could check out by Julie Cutts there is Australia. She gives options for your country. Hope this helps!
