Thank you Sara! This technique is definitely in my head…I’m ready to start experiment with some new stuff tho too…I’ve got some things in my head I’m trying to work out…lol. Thanks for your support! ❤️☺️🙏🏻
Tara, thank you so much for this very detailed video. Before I found you and watched several of your pours, I had watched a few tutorials but some artists wanted us to join and buy a class to learn this mixing. I don't have that extra $$ that they are asking to show the mixing procedure. Just a few of you do. I truly thank you. I did not have golden pouring medium. I had Floetrol, and was experimenting with ratios, but was not having any luck unless I added a little silicon. I will go buy some golden and I wrote down your amounts. Water I will guess to the right consistency. I love your channel, happy painting!!😊
Finally I found someone that gave a clear and understanding receipt.Thank you for your knowledge and sharing with us. With all the money I have waisted buying all the wrong ingredients. Bless you ….and no Australian Floetrol….your paintings are stunning….love it, I’m so happy I stumble with your video…..😮😊❤

Hi Tara, ive been watching your dads art and have been blown away ! At first glance I thought he was a real beginner and didn't know what he was talking about , well that lasted about 10 minutes ! Untill I saw the finished product ! WOW WOW WOW - He has it down !! I love his art ! So classy and they all look great on a wall. I mean really nice stuff. I would pay big bucks for his stuff. Now im checking you out. Ive only begun to look and what I see looks really very nice ! Im so glad I came upon you both thank you
Thanks Audrey! My dad is very talented and I’m glad you like his work! His work is for sale if you are ever interested.☺️ Thanks for watching my channel too. I hope I don’t disappoint! 🙏🏻☺️❤️
I don't know why it took me so long to find this particular video but a huge thank you Tara!!! The colored pearl cell recipes work great! I've made up abd tested the primary colors and a few metallics, perfection 👌 😍
I know I’m in the old videos. But I wanted to see how you make sure Payton I found this those pieces are gorgeous and Tara. I gotta tell you you have beautiful hair. I love it.
I love this. Thank you for sharing all the details. I admire artists who aren't afraid to share their techniques. I want to try this and hope it turn out half as good as yours!
Love this because the pearls do not EAT up the details of the main colors/background. Looking forward to trying your recipe! Thank you for sharing-they are both gorgeous.
I think this was the best tutorial and very much appreciate all the details, especially explaining the “why’s”…so appreciate your time for this! And the diptych is beautiful! Thank you again!
Your so welcome Kathy! I really appreciate your kind comment. I like to know the “why’s” so I try to pass on what I learn. I also really appreciate your sweet comments always! ☺️❤️🙏🏻

Great tutorial! Really learned a lot and appreciate all your effort. Great to see differences betw tube and fluid paints. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge. Be well.❤️
Tara, what an excellent video , now I have a better understanding of the satin enamel deep base and of your paint mixing. Thank you 🙏. I’m going out tomorrow to buy the satin enamel deep base and hopefully my cells will turn out this time,
Thank you for your time in doing this tutorial, very informative. Never done a pearl pour. With this info, I will sure try one or more. Beautiful results.
Thank you Tara for a fantastic tutorial on how to mix the paints to your recipe. I loved the end result they are gorgeous paintings I'm in the uk and have only been pouring for 1year and still trying to master all the techniques but I'll get there eventually 👏💜🌈 .
Great Tutorial Tara! Very detailed and informative. I love how you actually measure out each part of the recipe, there have been so many questions regarding it and I think this will really help. Love the demonstration at the end. Love the colors and the composition. You have this technique down. ❤❤❤👏👏👏👍👍
Very nicely done my friend!! Wow! I’m super impressed. You put a lot of work into this. Thank you! Don’t you just love those dollar store containers. I use them to measure sometimes too! Thanks again
Great info! I learned a lot. Now let's see if I can put it into practice. I think I'm going to start with just deco art white base to simplify it for myself. Should I use the recipe you have posted before? These paintings remind me of gold coins found in Mediterranean waters. Wonderful!😊🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅😁
Thank you so much, Tara. So from this video, I gather that if I want to scale down the amount of paint color, for example to 1 oz of paint, I’d mix 2 parts house paint, 1.5 parts floetrol, to .75 of the Golden?
Thanks so much and I have one last request. If you have time, could you perhaps do a video demonstrating how you use your color/house paint mixes? Can you pour any dark color other black, for the dump coat?
Thank you so much. That was great and looks easier. Still wondering if I can use my Liquitex Satin Enamel with the new Golden gloss medium??? I only have one window to open for fresh air and I'm in my daughter's house...
Hi Patricia. I’m not sure exactly what you are saying. I’m a little confused. Are you asking if you can use the Liquitex with the Satin Enamel? If so the answer is yes. You can use either the Liquitex Pouring Medium or the Golden Color Pouring Medium. They can be substituted for each other in this recipe. If that’s not what you mean please clarify. I’m also not sure what that has to do with ventilation. I’m really sorry I’m not sure I’m following you…but I’d like to…☺️
Thank you so much for the tutorial Tara. You did a great job. Took screen shots and now I'll transfer to my notebook. Will try this today. God bless. Stay safe. ✌BTW, the paintings were awesome. Beautiful colors. You are so talented. Your dad too.
@@PiecesofTaraArtistry Good morning Tara. I made up your recipe yesterday but cut everything in half. Also do not have Gac or any pouring medium except for a couple squirts on Liquitex pm. I got nothing. I used Amsterdam white and Floetrol with water to thin. I have Behr satin enamel deep base untinted interior with primer. I did it 3 x. I'm wondering if it has to be the exact one you have or have you used another? I may keep trying but I may move on to something else. You are a great artist and tutor. Be safe.
I’m sorry you didn’t have success. Amsterdam white might be the problem. If you are going for white pearls my other recipe is better with the artist loft white. Amsterdam paint is heavy so you need more satin enamel to get it to float. What is the recipe you are using for the puddle paint?
Sorry…this is kind of confusing in the chat…That is the formula for the base color. What is the formula fir the color you are putting over and stretching out over top?
where do you find the Golden Gloss Color Pouring Medium? The only one I find on Blick is Golden pouring medium gloss. Are they the same thing? This was a good, clear, detailed lesson. I've been using DA SE to do the same. I love the way they come out.
I’m so glad you showed this Behr product, I’ve been wondering about using this one. So thank you for sharing 😉. Beautiful pieces, I really love them👍🏼💕💕👌
Hi Tara, thank you for your expertise! What is this pour called? Does it have a name? Dutch, cloud over? I get confused with all the names. Also what is the very first white paint? Your terrific, thanks again for sharing Tara
Hi Terri! Thanks so much for your kind words. This is a pearl cell pour and Dutch pour combo. I do list all of my paints and pouring medium on the screen and in the description box in case this isn’t the white u r referring to…I think you are referring to the pour over paint - Amsterdam Titanium White mixed with my pouring medium of 50% Floetrol/50% Golden GAC 800. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching! ❤️🙏🏻☺️
Thanks Doris. At Home Depot they hide it so you might have to ask for it. Then you have to try and get it out of their clutches without them tinting it. It’s kinda funny to watch their faces when you say you don’t want it tinted...🤣😆
Excellent tutorial!!! And a beautiful painting!!! I so enjoy watching you paint!! I have one question the way I understand it the cloud pour is the base paint, the puddle pour is the same as the Dutch pour, what is the “cloud over pour” what is it, how and when is it used and how is the mixture different?
Thank you Janine! As far as the difference between the cloud pearl pour and cloud over pour you would have to check out Sara Taylor’s videos. She is the originator of the “cloud over” pour and recipe. Her recipes are in her description box. I don’t do the cloud over so I really can’t speak to what it is exactly. I’m so sorry. ❤️🙏🏻☺️
Hi Priya! There are some metallics that you would use that same recipe on but not all of them. I have found DecoArt 24k gold and obsidian you don’t need any satin enamel whereas DecoArt Pearl White you need to add the satin enamel to. It is something you have to play around with a little. Same with pigments. I always add satin enamel to the pigments but some are heavier than others and want to just sink to the bottom and not create pearls. Those I usually do a tester to see what my ratios should be. We can go through this more in your in person class! Can’t wait! ❤️
Thanks Nicole! I’m happy to pass on any info I’ve gained! You are an amazing artist. I have really enjoyed watching you develop over the last couple months. You have raw natural talent and I’m really proud of you! ❤️☺️🙏🏻
@@PiecesofTaraArtistry oh my goodness, Tara! 🥰 Thank you SOOO much! I am truly smiling so much right now. 😃 It is an honor to hear such a compliment from you and I appreciate your kind words. You’re the best! Thank you, thank you, thank you! ♥️
Thanks Tina! Yes! I have two little Yorkies. The one in the beginning is Baxter my older dog and Finley is the little one that was digging in the middle of my video...lol. ☺️❤️🙏🏻
Great video Tara! Super informative and the pieces came out fantastic!😍 I’m pretty new to this technique, how long did you wait for the pearls to develop before you layed down the colors that you blew out? Thank you!💓
Thank you so much Latoya. I usually wait about 10-20 minutes depending on how they are developing and if they develop quicker I usually do the blow out quicker…sometime they develop slowly so I have to be patient…lol. Hope this helps! ❤️🙏🏻☺️
Hi Macska! With this technique you have to have satin enamel in the basecoat and you have to use a pour over color with no satin enamel in it. That is what makes the cool cells. 🙏🏻☺️❤️
@@PiecesofTaraArtistry honestly, no. I was just moaning to him about how I can neither get artist loft nor behr products nor decoart enamel nor golden gac 800. I substituted golden gac 800 with golden cpm, decoart satin enamel with a combo of decoart gloss enamel, decoart white paint and satin and the artist loft white with amsterdam which is available here and it was to no avail.
Thanks so much for this fantastic tutorial full of important information for this beautiful technique, now I have the Behr 7050 in white are my going to be able to use this product ? Is just the amount of water that changes ? I can use all the other ingredients?
Thank you Milly! I really appreciate your feedback. So as far as the 7050 in white…yes I can use it. You will have to dial back the water to 2 parts approx. and add Artist Loft White. So if you have the 2019 version of the artist loft white you will be ok with the white pearl cell formula of: 3pts Floetrol 2 parts artist loft white 2 parts Behr 7050 white 1.5 parts Gac 800 or Color Pouring Medium ( or 1 pt gac 800 and .5 part Liquitex Pouring medium) If your artist loft paint is 2021 version you will need to mix it half and half with apple barrel white from Walmart. The formula changed for artist loft white and it has not been creating nice pearls so there has been an adjustment to the formula. Recent videos from Sara Taylor and Michelle Galli have explained it and I will refer you to them for the explanation. Hope this helps! ❤️☺️🙏🏻
@@PiecesofTaraArtistry big thanks dear your are a fantastic lady a real gem of a person I can feel that so happy with your channel and your Dad’s many blessings 🌹💕
Wow! Thank you for the detailed explanation! I've heard others (i think it was Tammy) say that GAC800 is Goldens PM - you said you spoke with them, did they say how this PM is different from GAC800?
Thank you so much Julie! Yes, Golden GAC 800 was their first product that was specific to acrylic pouring. Basically they said that the Golden Color Pouring Medium is their improvement on that original product, if that makes sense. They are definitely not the same exact product if you look at them side by side but the company said that the Golden Color Pouring Medium has the same properties in it as the GAC800 plus other benefits. Golden is super great at getting back to you on questions that you may have. I suggest, if you want to know specifics to email them. They usually get back to you right away! ❤️☺️🙏🏻

Thank you so much I learn a lot
Thanks so much Teresa. 🙏🏻☺️❤️
Thank you so much for the tutorial Tara. You did a great job. Took screen shots and now I'll transfer to my notebook. Will try this today. God bless. Stay safe. ✌BTW, the paintings were awesome. Beautiful colors. You are so talented. Your dad too.
Thank you Little Feather. I’m glad you found it helpful. I hope you have success! Let me know if you have any more questions!
@@PiecesofTaraArtistry I think yours. Behr interior the untinted version. I just don't have Gac. Just a little Liquitex pm.
Thanks Margaret. Yes it’s the same thing. I usually get mine at Jerry’s Artarama or Blick. DecoArt works well to! ☺️❤️🙏🏻
I’m so glad you showed this Behr product, I’ve been wondering about using this one. So thank you for sharing 😉. Beautiful pieces, I really love them👍🏼💕💕👌
Thanks Kimberly! I’m so happy to share! ☺️❤️🙏🏻
Amazing 🤩
Thank you so much Jo! ❤️☺️🙏🏻
Gorgeous results . Thank you for your great detailed tutorial . Love to try this❤️❤️
Thank you Mali! I’m glad u found it helpful. Keep me posted if you try it! ❤️☺️🙏🏻
I will definitely do❤️
Love these! Thanks so much for the tutorial!
Thank you Penny! And of course, you are so welcome! I hope you have success! ❤️☺️🙏🏻
This was awesome Tara. Thank you for this tutorial. The paintings are beautiful ❤️. Xo
Thank you so much Janice. I hope it’s helpful! ❤️☺️🙏🏻
I appreciate you taking the time to explain this in detail. 😀 Now on to Home Depot to find the scuff defense base, to try this. You're awesome Tara!!
Thanks Doris. At Home Depot they hide it so you might have to ask for it. Then you have to try and get it out of their clutches without them tinting it. It’s kinda funny to watch their faces when you say you don’t want it tinted...🤣😆
@@PiecesofTaraArtistry ohhh I believe it 🤣😂 Menard's paint guys are the same way
Excellent tutorial!!!
Loved the tutorial that you use, really appreciate it. Love your painting they are gorgeous 💜💜
Thanks Rochelle! Hope it’s helpful! Thanks for watching and your support! ❤️☺️🙏🏻
Do we use the same recipe for Decoart metallics and pigments? Sorry if I missed that part. Thank you for such a detailed tutorial.
Can’t wait! ❤️
Excellent tutorial, Tara! Thanks SO much for this 🥰 And the pieces you created at the end are absolutely gorgeous! 💗
❤️❤️
Great informative video! Also are your little dogs yorkies?
Hi! Thanks for recipe. This works with just only tilting the canvas ? Or must put the other paint on ?
Hi Macska! With this technique you have to have satin enamel in the basecoat and you have to use a pour over color with no satin enamel in it. That is what makes the cool cells. 🙏🏻☺️❤️
Ur dad sent me this. I'm watching.
Thanks Toodle. I hope it’s helpful even though you are in Europe!
Can you get your hands on a white house paint in satin finish? That works also instead of satin enamel paint.
@@PiecesofTaraArtistry I'll try. Thank you very much.
This was so helpful. Thank you so much!
Thanks Rhonda! I’m so glad you found it helpful! I hope you have success! ❤️☺️🙏🏻
So if you have the 2019 version of the artist loft white you will be ok with the white pearl cell formula of:
3pts Floetrol
2 parts artist loft white
2 parts Behr 7050 white
1.5 parts Gac 800 or Color Pouring Medium ( or 1 pt gac 800 and .5 part Liquitex Pouring medium)
If your artist loft paint is 2021 version you will need to mix it half and half with apple barrel white from Walmart.
Thank you Milly. You are so kind! ❤️❤️❤️
Love em!💖💖💖👏👏👏🇦🇺
Thank you Janice! ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
