- Fluid art inspirational video! This is going to a different idea, I really like the effect. It’s using Pigments first, then the translucent basecoat on top and then doing sort of a Dutch pour over it.

Mix for pigments;
I wet them with Liquitex for a medium, you can also use GAC100. After they’re completely mixed into the Liquatex I add another part GAC and another part floetrol.

My dark basecoat is exactly like my white, I just switch out the white paint for a dark paint.

Amazing beauties. The first piece is so tranquil, as if in space. Love it! The second piece you seem to capture absolute motion of a "molten metal". Brava! I dig that one doesn't need to wait for the sub-base (?? lol) to dry before the translucent base-coat is applied. Brilliant! 😊💕✌️🙏

I really love all the potential of the translucent base but I'm not having nearly the outcomes or success you're having. After a month of experimenting exclusively I decided to set it aside for a while and go back to it later. This is a really great concept, pouring over wet pigments.
Sometimes that’s the best thing we can do if a technique is getting frustrating. If you have some questions feel free to reach out.

That’s kind of going through something in particular on the first painting that I didn’t get, I honestly didn’t quite get it on the second painting either but approached it a bit differently. Definitely experimentation mode!❤️

I’m a bit confused! As usual! Did you put the transparent base under and the over the Dutch pour or was that the pearl over the Dutch pour?
Yeah this is a little different, I started with the pigments on a dry canvas, then poured the transparent base coat on top of the wet pigments, and then did a little bit of the Dutch pour on top.
That's pretty cool. Lots of layering can make such interesting effects. Did you ever torch to pop bubbles? Was your paint thinner than usual this time? Thanks!
Hey Cynthia, this was about the same consistency is my normal pearl paintings. One nice thing with the paint is this thing is you don’t really need to touch it.😁
