It's not perfect camera., neither is it boring. I LOVE it.

    I’ve got a r6ii. But I’ve preordered a r5ii. Thanks for this good review.

Sometimes rushing a video means rushing a song selection - glad it didn't keep you from watching, thanks!

This helped me a lot! Thanks for the info! I just wanted to ask how you think it would perform in a higher vibration environment for video. I film the railroad so it tends to shake my camera enough to the point where I can barely salvage the shot in post. How do you think the R6 mkII would do for this purpose?

Hey - I’ve never used the camera in that specific environment, but the R6II is my choice for overhead cam precisely because its sensor stabilization is excellent for counteracting the constant jitters the overhead rigs introduce. If you’re very dedicated to that type of video, a global sensor camera can do this most effectively by eliminating vibration blur and rolling shutter, by combining software stabilization and fast shutter speeds. Look into the Sony A9III or Red Komodo X cameras.

Great review, agree! I found with the original R6 DR is quite expandable after some temporal noise reduction in resolve as long as there's not too much movement in the shadow areas. Also not sure if line skipping is possible with that MP count, so isn't the only non-oversampled option crop mode?

Hey, that's a really good point about the resolution required for line-skipping; I'd always assumed there was a way to drop lines or pixels as necessary to achieve an output resolution, but considering I can't think of a 6K camera that does that, it may have been a wrong assumption on my part. Thanks for chiming in!

@@MattRamseyTube I've also and maybe incorrectly assumed that 8k footage can skip every second line.
