- Purchased this trailer Oct 1st 2019 and finished the remodel Jan 16th 2020. I can tell you what got done. The master bathroom had all new plywood on the floor, and 5 other sheets of plywood used throughout the home where soft spots were. Then all new top flooring. The house had a family who smoked for 30 years in it. And it got painted over from one end to the other. Install a new bathtub and shower. A new vanity and sink. And a new toilet in the master bath. The air conditioning vents in the floor throughout the whole home had been replaced. Also the trailer skirting I've been replaced all the way around the home. A dryer vent was placed along side the skirting. Also an outlet was installed outside. New ceiling fan was installed. And this past month I put a new metal roof on. The outside got pressure washed. New outdoor motion lights. The air conditioning air handler was cleaned with a spray foam and rinsed all the tar/cigarette build up.
Ignore all the negative comments from people who don't know what they are talking about! They're probably jealous. I reno also. This is a great job!!!
Thank you Rene
Nice work. I think your audience would have enjoyed watching the process. Maybe next time.👍
You did a great job! Looks fantastic!👍
Looking good, the only thing I would have changed from first glance, was to paint all of the door trim and doors to match. I did that in my 1971 Criterion 12x65....had a front kitchen with fire damage...that made all the difference in the world. Lots of caulking and paint. New carpet and vinyl in the kitchen/bath....I was KING of my castle for 6 years.
It looks beautiful! It’s very bright and clean and that’s what matters. It can be decorated farmhouse style and be very nice!
Love it! Looks great!
Thank you.
I was glad to see that all of the AC cents were replaced. My Mom smoked for 40 years and I tried to get her to quit, I bought all of the nicorette stuff at walmart. I kept telling her that she would add 6 years to her life for every year that she quit? But she ended up passing away at age 53. 😥
Que bella quedo yo estoy loco por una pero en el estado de la Florida son muy caras y no se puede comprar
Not bad for the $, it’s all about location anyway 👍🇺🇸
Is this video shows the Before or the After ?
This was hard to appreciate because there were no “before” to look at.
You're right. Rookie move on my part. I'll know better next time.
Looks livable but with the cost of materials today it makes you wonder ,if you sold the trailer how much could you get on the return,, Maybe ten or twelve grand? Best way to get a return is if you plan to live in it yourself. But I give you an A for effort.
We just bought a lot with a 2005 Karsten FEMA trailer on it that’s in pristine condition. Are they made well enough to put money into updating them and will they last?
How did you find the FEMA trailer? I like Solitaire MH but they dont deliver to NC. At least not yet. (*double paned windows, all appliances, ash wood cabinets, they tape and float the walls and insulate to R13.)
I've been looking for a place to help a Vet who was injured in 1995 he was getting off deck during a hurricane and the ladder had some bolt or clamp that didn't hold it secured, so he fell with the ladder down to the next level deck. He's got a pretty bad head injury, and he says he lives with his parents in a MH rental but it needs repairs. He's been asking for help for 2 years, I've been following him on Twitter. I found a piece of property in his town that I can pay for from here and gift him, if I can find a nonprofit who will build him a new house? His Dad was in the Army so they could both build a place on the land, it's big enough they could have 2 acres each if they want to split it? Or I thought they could plant whatever fruit trees will grow there and I an plant a pretty big garden, then I can help build a chicken coop so they can raise 75 turkeys and 150 broilers for meat, and get 12 egg laying hens so they won't go hungry. I've raised 2 pugs and 3 cattle in 4H I could set them up if they want to do that too. That's enough meat they could split it between their homes.
I thought the FEMA trailers from that time frame were all condemned due to chemical contamination (was it formaldehyde in the materials)? I remember seeing massive amounts of them in government auctions with notes about not being inhabitable.
Looks good but, if you did not remediate the nicotine from the the cigarette smoke it is just going to eventually bleed through the paint.
4 coats of Kilz covered it up.
Where did you get your shower/tub did you go to a mobile home store or did you get it from home depot or lowes?
Lowes
Main thing with any mobile home, is whether you own the land. If you own the land then it is okay but do not buy in a mobile home park.
The big empty space next to the toilet that is first shown would make a great linen closet. Almost every mobile/manufactured home seems to need more storage. :)
That space would be better to be opened up by removing the little wall. The toilet is enclosed too much on the sides. A tall free standing cabinet or a small chest of drawers could then be slid into that space.
Did I miss the remodel part?

@@AaronRankin I thought I was watching the before in the first half and then was gonna see the after in the second half. Sorry if I offended you.
I was thinking the same thing did I miss the remodeling part
@@melvinmoore3498 Sorry for the confusion.
@@melvinmoore3498 I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I guess I was expecting to see a nice staged remodel finish.
My Floorplan almost looks the same as yours. How many sqft is your?😲
I believe my home is a 17X70 trailer. Which makes it 1190 square feet.
I'm confused. Those were the after shots? The floor looked new and part of the bathrooms. The paint looked kinda new but what threw me off was the edges. Where the white met the brown. Sorry man I'm just not sure what's going on. Maybe before pics would help.
This home set up is exactly the same as someone I know in Orangeburg, SC.. Anyhow, I loved what u did with this and was wondering if u r contracted 2 do remodelling on other mobile homes besides ur own and also where are u located?
I'm located in Conway S.C, but I'm not interested in any work at this time. I've got my hands full.
Do u do other mobile homes remodelling besides ur own? Where r u located?
Thanks.. If u know of anyone that does the remodelling, pls. let me know.. Thanks Again
Looks good, but I would have put a wall to enclose the washer and dryer.
If you spent that much, why leave the panel strips?
Yeah it kind of looks like a old painted trailer. Mold spots on the ceiling in the bath, the vent was dirty, stove is ugly. I hope you're not asking much for it.
You're a really cheerful person!
Kathy Wolgamott. That was such an idotic comment. I imagine you are jealous that this man was able to afford to do a reno and you aren't.
