I get what you are suggesting, but I'm guessing that you don't really quite mean leave it open and unblocked otherwise it seems to me that if the tank is not far off full there'll be waste water sloshing out onto the road when you drive around corners and brake to slow?! I've used a rubber bung to block the outlet (with a jubilee clip for a belt-and-braces fixing) which I can easily take off if ever I need to open that outlet again.
@user-ot1qk9hw7v Yes, that's more or less what I'm suggesting only along with the level indicator. It's for emergency only to stop grey water coming back up the shower or sink if I forgot to check the waste tank level
Stu, stick a manual inline valve before the elec dump valve. If your onsite in Scotland in the pwishing rain you dont wanna be faffing with electrics trying to work out what's gone wrong, you want an emergency manual valve and sort it when you get home. Hopefully never used ;)

Tidy! Loving those dump valves....I can see a retrofit coming on for my van! (is there a push-button switch solution - push to make/close - rather than the rocker, I wonder, because I can see the issue you've addressed there with the kill-switch.) Might or might not help but for closing off the spare waste water inlet on the CAK tank I used a walking stick end rubber (my local handicentre has them in various sizes so I always keep a few just in case - and one of them was the tightest, most perfect fit!). More power to your elbow(s)!
Not sure but would imagine there would be one out there somewhere. I looked at a few options and this was the cleanest and I wanted them to match the cbe fascia’s 👍🏻
A momentary switch would work but you would need to keep it pressed until the tank is empty. Not a bad idea but would need a 2nd pair of eyes.. would save the problem of having a latching switch accidentally switched on and dumping the tanks accidentally
The reason the pipe has three different layers is because it’s a barrier pipe! used for central heating systems it helps reduce oxygen permeation Most DHW and cold mains systems are single layer pipes 👍
