Great vLog. That workbench is already taking a beating 🤣
Thanks mate, they don’t last long lol think the next top I put on it will be mdf as it’s cheaper 🤣🚐
It's as easy as that, cheers Stu, hope you guys are enjoying your holibobs,
Thanks guys, had a great time with the family, the weather was poor but we made the best of it, just got home 👍🏻🚐
HI STU 😁 Great videos very informative ,maybe you could include the van build total weight as a lot of van builders dont show what the van comes in before passengers and fuel/water etc... Most van builders go over the TOTAL 3500kgs . Your builds with lightweight ply are all on spec but most home builders are using heavy PLY AND ARE RUNNING OVER WEIGHT.... Wishing you all the best with new business. 👍
That’s very true mate, our first van weighed 2640kg unloaded so had a fantastic pay load, the grey Ducato we finished in February weighed 3160kg completely loaded including fuel, water and garage loaded so very pleased with our vehicle weights after conversion 👍🏻👊🏻
You could tape a bin bag or similar to the inside roof to catch the swarf from the cutting, popping a magnet in the bag will catch it as you cut. If a magnet isn't to hand then a squeeze of mastic on the middle of the bag will catch most as the vibrations will cause them to move towards the centre.
Thanks bren that’s a great idea. We used to do put a plastic liner underneath to capture it but some always escaped and it’s still all over the roof so know we just cut all the holes and then do a deep clean
What a great video. At a great time fitting my skylight soon was sh##ing myself about cutting holes. Video has help . Keep up the good work mate 👍
Thanks Dave, glad it helps that’s what it’s there for. If you need anything specific doing for a how to let me know 👍🏻🚐
loving it.
Thanks mate 👊🏻🚐

Nice little video
Thank you 👊🏻🚐
Nice work 🙂
Thank you 👍🏻🚐
I thought this vlog was really good at explaining & showing the different steps of fitting the skylight. 👌😊
If it helps one person fit their sky light I’ll take it lol thanks guys 💙🚐
ACE VLOG Steve helps as I've one to go in and one to replace 1st time
Also have you tried a spray called Elbow grease on Google it's unreal and £1.50 . Shift any mingin green roof
I haven’t heard of that one, to be fair the two cans we got here have really bad roofs so they went outside to meet the jet wash 🤣
@@VanologyConversions 🤣🤣 yeah I spray that on then jet wash !
Good on oven fat too mate
Thanks for this, it's perfect timing as I have to replace one of my skylights thanks to a stupid pigeon headbutting it and smashing the "glass" plus part of the frame. Itvwill be the same process but the hole is already cut and the wood frame is in place. If it wasn't I would hold the frame with some clamps as I don't have props.
That made me laugh 🕊️ bet he got a head ache after that. Glad it will help you mate 👍🏻🚐
Well done thank you good luck 👍👍👍 🏴🇬🇧🇨🇦🦢
Thank you 🏴🚐
Very good vid thanks.... can i ask where I can get the adaptor plates from please?
Hi Dave, I get them from magnum Motorhomes 👍🏻🚐
Absolutely loved this, presume the fixing screws are stainless steel?
Hi Mark, thank you. Yes they are mate, they are supplied with the sky lights 👍🏻🚐
grt vlog
Thanks Phil 👍🏻🚐
Great channel and great conversions do you know how many Watts solar would be needed to be totally off grid in uk and also size of batteries .. thanks
Thanks mate, with solar it’s a case of get as much on the roof as you can fit. If there is two skylights we use our 445w panel but if only 1 skylight we can get 525w +
@VanologyConversions thank you I'm getting a mwb ducato so I'll get as much as I can, thanks for the reply !
👍😎
👊🏻😂
Hi Guys. What a shame weather in Spain video. Yes your new van is superb but way too long for me. My ex sainsbury supermarket delivery van is keeping me busy converting it. Been fitting doors. May I ask what your insurance rushes u. I got my sprinter 314 cdi 2018 for 440 with Adrian Flux. Value after conversion 15k. Good luck with yours. Now going to watch another video by van ology, don't know who that raskel is do u. Really love your videos. Best wishes to u and your wife. Also u have very well beh children. Best wishes David and Beverley Norfolk
We love the market vans we’ve some brilliant conversions done on these, we are currently with comfort mate 👍🏻🚐
Brilliant as per usual
Thanks mate 👊🏻🚐
Where can I get similar prop sticks to yours? Thanks
These are plasterboard props that I got from Screwfix mate 👍🏻🚐
Hey Stu, great informational video. Just got my 50x70 skylight for my boxer and will be fitting it as soon as it gets a little bit warmer around here.
Just a question, might be stupid, but after cutting the hole and filing it, you mention that you threat the bare metal, what are you using to threat it?
I have got hamerite but the text said you threat it before applying hamerite so just wondering what to use.
Thanks and keep it up, can't wait for the next how to video!
Thanks mate, I applied a primer to the bare metal. You can just apply the hammerite straight to it. I then applied the hammerite afterwards with about a 10mm overspill both sides 👍🏻🚐
@@VanologyConversions Thank you, much appreciated!
Probably watched all of your videos by now in preparation to gain some confidence in building my own camper.
Hi Stu, thank you for your brill videos. I've just had a disappointing experience buying 'so called' 4 way stretch carpet on ebay. So, do you have much experience with this stuff, if so are you able to recommend a good product or supplier? Cheers Baz
Hi Baz I use coveranysurface for our carpet and has been a nice thick stretch carpet that’s moulded great 👍🏻🚐
@@VanologyConversions Cheers Stu, keep up the good work!
