It's looking really good. Don't throw away the oak off cuts, you never know when they will come in. I made my daughter a coffee table & a cutting board with hers and turned a few matching party snack bowls with the smaller bits (and I've hidden a few more bits in my shed for myself). It it worth just running a couple of coats of clear varnish along the bare to edges of the ply in the kitchen unit to seal it? It would only take 10 minutes and it's a good precaution if there are an spills or condensation moisture.
Thanks Tony, I never throw away oak lol always something that can be made 👍🏻 and your right about sealing the edges of ply I used ova in mine 👊🏻 should have mentioned it
The professionalism is outstanding. You can teach your children all those trades. My son is doing carpentry and he loves it. It’s a lovely van. The finish is stunning. I want that shower….
You know, actually, the smallest, the tiniest thing you did, for my personal choice, is the chamfer on that work-top ‼️ It's not too big, not too showy, definitely 'less is more' and I like it ‼️💯💯
Great video’s, quality work. When you have time can you show us how you do the cut outs for the cupboards, kitchen pod facia, I can never them that straight. Thanks.
Hi mate, thank you. I use a plunge saw on a track. You can also use a jigsaw or a circular saw but you would need to clamp down a fence to follow on the cut 👍🏻 I have shown the plunge saw in previous videos if you want to check it out
Love the channel! You don’t do your self justice downplaying your know how of gas and electricity 😊 unlike most van build videos you have real world experience in those things so I would love that you talk more in detail about that 😃
Thank you, with the gas I just run the piping but the system won’t be commissioned until it’s been tested by my gas safe engineer. I didn’t go into detail on these as I don’t want to encourage people without the skill set to try installing these themselves it’s too dangerous 💙
Looks good now matey, not sure on a 12v heater though 10% is a lot on an overcast day if people want to off grid and have 2 showers and wash up you’ll use more than a tank easy, not a criticism but definitely something to watch out. Looking forward to seeing the finished product now.
Your right there mate, I think it’s a system that can be tested and if it’s draining too much power then we can easily add another lithium battery into the system 👍🏻
You sure are a conscientious lad, exceptional workmanship, shame about the truma water heater,& possibly tambour door on the shower “ I know you want to keep the cost down “ but the rest of the build is so well done I think that would suit, excellent series & interesting to follow, from a fellow taff .👏👏👏👏🏴✊
I do like the tambour door, I may leave it open for now and give the buyer the choice of curtain or tambour cos I agree mate. I fitted one on our crafter and makes it look so much nicer 👍🏻
Very skilled professional like how you take the time show everything on the fitting and don't fast forward like some other van build channels. Cubbards and work tops look spot on 👏.

Hi, thanks for sharing, but I would love to know how you intend to finish of the gap at the B pillar, to the habitation area. This is where I am stuck. Cheers
It’s coming along nicely Stu. One comment if I may. We originally had a shower curtain in my Ducato conversion but hated it so fitted a tambour door. For less than £200 it was a game changer plus looked far better too. 👌🏽👍🏼
Yet another fab update, I love an oak worktop too. Giving me ideas for the house as well. The PO of our motorhome fitted a similar light in our shower room so seems to be a done thing. Thanks for sharing 😎👍🏻
I’m using our old motorhome lead battery and keep a battery charger close by, I checked it today and it’s got a dead cell from when I took it out of the van and left it for months
fibre washer on that fitting should work - although yes it's a rubbish design - and look at Loctite 55 pipe sealing thread .... its like old fashioned hemp and will stay sealed even when you partially undo the nut. It is fine on potable water. They stopped using hemp only because it promoted bacterial growth. Fibre washers and this Loctite stuff swells when it gets damp and makes and even better seal. The fibre washer won't cut like the rubber ones do when tightening up.
Your right mate a fibre washer would have worked but didn’t like how sharp the edges was so reverted to John guest fittings, these have never let me down 👍🏻
As a builder and a sucker for detail and workmanship I must say nice job mate, the transformation is amazing. I once did the nc 500 in a motor home and loved it, if my situation was different I’d love to had bought this off you. Nice one 👍
Hi Stu just catching up on how you did your fanastic furniture builds before I start mine in my boxer. Was trying to find a how on your door catches, was wondering if you have a footage? Thanks David
Coming along nicely, you definitely have a future in building vans. Love the finish you are achieving with that board, it looks high end with the exception of that cladding, it just looks nasty in my opinion, would sooner see ply walls with paper or vinyl like the major builders do or even carpeted walls would be better, also a shower curtain wouldn’t cut it for me, should’ve been a Tambour door. Also I noticed the outside of the van has one or two dings, are you going to get a (PDR) Paintless Dent Removal man out to sort those? They do an amazing job and quite cheaply too. Any plans for any external graphics? Be nice to at least see your Vanology logo design on the exterior somewhere 👍🏻
Thanks mate, I’m trialling different wall coverings. I tried the acrylic panels twice and wasn’t impressed with them. May still do the tambour door as these do finish it off mint 👊🏻
