Thanks guys!!! I know you guys had some trouble with your rig! ya don’t have to worry as much about that with DIY or if ya do ya atleast you know where everything is/goes since you built it!
Honestly, this is the most professional “home build” I’ve ever seen 🙌👏well done! Can’t wait till you get to enjoy your handy work on your coming adventures!❤
That was amazing. Thank you for taking the time to show everything in detail. I dream of a van build like yours. Have fun and safe travels to you and your family! 🌻☀️🌻😎
Great plumbing setup! The only part I'm confused about is how your lines drain into the grey water tank. It looks like there's parts of the line that are at an incline before reaching the tank. Do you need a second water pump for the grey water?
Hello again!! How did you attach your palisade to the bathroom walls? Did you just apply them to the plywood walls or did you have to do something special? Also are they a lot more heavy than peel and stick tiles? Thanks!
Hi Kevin. Hey what was that p-trap that you used? "Hepva"? I can't seem to find anything on that and don't see it in your plumbing list. Thanks! Dan n Cheryl in the mitten p.s. The van is looking kick ass and nice job on the plumbing. I especially like the style on your garage too. 👍
@@MathersOnTheMap Thank you! Our Promaster FINALLY has a 'scheduled' ship date of Aug 28 out of Mexico and we're getting stoked! Looking forward to the road adventures...
The recirculating loop is genius!! Planning my build now and adding this to my plan and may try to improve on it with a thermostat that turns off the recirculating pump when it reaches temp. We shall see...
I'm gonna be living in my garage so my daughter and family can live in the house so I'm glad I came upon this because I can set up a sink unit. I will be able to use her shower at least but need a dishwashing setup 👍
Great progress on the van, seems like you have chosen the best quality systems out there, I hope they work out for you! The van is really looking great - inside and out. Have you considered a piece of gloss black automotive wrap between the windows on the driver side? IMO it would tie it together visually. But according to all the thought and research you do - you've probably got a plan for that section anyways! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Jonathan! I haven't thought about that area to be honest and any external upgrades are on hold until after our first trip in the van! We need to hit the road!!! haha
Great overview! I really like my Ogo toilet. Could you do a video on winterizing the system? I’m thinking about trying to use compressed air through the same outdoor shower hose connection
Plumbing 🔧 is not at the top of my DIY list... but love to watch others work at it all day long... GREAT JOB! One step closer to putting the "Van" back in "Van Life"! 👍 It's been a while... maybe a short practice warm-up trip? 🤔 May it's not be like riding a bike 🚲 ! 🤣 Back to work 🪛🔨😅... focus 👀... Buena Suerte! 😎
Been super busy at work lately, so late to the party here Kevin, but great descriptive video on the van plumbing system. Thanks and looking good. Looks like you're coming to terms with the newborn and video production conflicts :) Hoping you guys have a problem-free first test excursion. Cheers, Sev
Excellent video! Awesome improvements over your last build. Have you considered applying Fluid Film under the van for rust proofing? You can spray it on yourself or have it done. Amazon has it also.
Hey, cool system! I love my self installed Rixen’s system. Didn’t do the heated floors, but I have both indoor and outdoor door heated showers. The indoor is a recirculating shower system. I was not able to follow your explanation of your hot water circulation system. Perhaps a diagram would do the trick. Too many Ts and I could not follow the flow.
Did you link the inlet port that you installed on the outside of your van? I don't see it in the list. Also, I cannot tell where in the tank the water enters. Did you use one of the pre-drilled holes or did you make your own? I have a NWC tank and I cannot figure out which hole to use for which fitting. Do you have a diagram, by any chance, of what you did?
Do you have a link to the mixer immediately after the heat exchange? I'm using a similar system to the Rixens, and I've been trying to solve the scalding water dilemma.
Not cheap but this is it rixens.com/products/copy-of-mixing-valve?_pos=1&_sid=7a841213e&_ss=r You can maybe find cheaper on Amazon not sure if quality will match though
What happens with the mixer when using the recirc pump? After a bit of time there is no longer cold water coming in to reduce the temp right? I was thinking of returning the hot water to the fresh tank
That’s a fair point! If the recirc pump is left on for awhile you’re right the water could become very hot. The idea is to use it for just a minute or two to flush the cold out
Shouldn't there be a check valve forcing the recert hot water back through the heater and none goes towards the cold water/tank? This would maintain pressure too throughout the hot water loop.
Hi Kevin and Taylor. Love your van build videos and the detail you share. One question on your plumbing video, can you please share a link to the water inlet that you attached to the outside of your van? I cannot find a lockable inlet like you show. Thank you.
We like your new haircut Kevin, it makes you look younger 👍🏻😊
Thanks Thomas!!!
If we ever build out a van we will be rewatching all your van build videos. Great job! We are really enjoying this series.

You're spot on about Nature's Head. Thanks for sharing about Ogo! Where did you get the teak wooden slots you will be placing the Ogo on?
Great plumbing setup! The only part I'm confused about is how your lines drain into the grey water tank. It looks like there's parts of the line that are at an incline before reaching the tank. Do you need a second water pump for the grey water?
thank you!!! No second water pump, I let water stay in the line, it serves as its own p-trap.
So many shark bites, just discovered them and they are great, just used them to replace my hot water heater in my house.
Hello again!! How did you attach your palisade to the bathroom walls? Did you just apply them to the plywood walls or did you have to do something special? Also are they a lot more heavy than peel and stick tiles? Thanks!

Great plumbing system! I hear Cicadas are as bad in in the NE as they are here in OK...
Thanks Mike! Yep they are!
Excellent video! Awesome improvements over your last build. Have you considered applying Fluid Film under the van for rust proofing? You can spray it on yourself or have it done. Amazon has it also.
Thanks Rod!! The under carriage is already power coated, so you spray it on the exhaust and stuff?

Not on exhaust. Check with Mercedes to see if compatible with their undercoating. Spray all moving parts and battery terminals also.

I like how you setup the recirculating system. Does that recirculating pump run 24/7?
thanks! Only when we turn it on via switch, we only run it for a minute or two.

too damn hot!!!

That’s a fair point! If the recirc pump is left on for awhile you’re right the water could become very hot. The idea is to use it for just a minute or two to flush the cold out
One issue with returning to the tank could be maintaining pressure, not sure if the water pump would stay constantly on at that point?
Shouldn't there be a check valve forcing the recert hot water back through the heater and none goes towards the cold water/tank? This would maintain pressure too throughout the hot water loop.
I hate compost have to find some place to dump and a black works just fine for me and I don’t smell anything .
Which fittings did you use to go from the heated floor (3/8 PEX) to the Rixens system?
Pex -> 3/8 sharkbite - 3/4" FNPT -> 3/4" MNPT - 3/4" barbed for heater hose
Hey man really enjoy your content. What camera do you film with? Thanks for the upload
