    Hey guys, got this exact set up and my CEL came on about 1 hour after install, codes P0420 and P0430...rear 02 sensor codes. Curious what yalls take is, got the 02 extenders on the way but have been talking with SPD for a few weeks and they can’t figure it out.

    • @RatchetWrenches
      @RatchetWrenches  4 года назад +3

      Hey there, I actually had this happen to me with my GTI. I put a high flow downpipe on and I got the CEL for o2 sensors (p0420). I ended up buying a spacer and it still stayed on. So I ended up buying a new o2 sensor and the code went away. I even removed the spacer and sent it back. So right now I run a new o2 sensor and no code. My point is that even with your extenders you could actually have a bad sensor and it’s triggering that light even with the trick of the spacer. I suggest buying new sensors I bet it’ll do the job.

    • @RatchetWrenches
      @RatchetWrenches  3 года назад +1

      I’d suggest tuning your truck if you install these for optimum performance. You’re increasing the airflow tremendously. But I don’t see why you couldn’t run it without a tune. I’d do some research on forums and see if you can. Ik for a lot of cars/trucks it’s almost implied to get a tune after a downpipe upgrade

    • @RatchetWrenches

      No we didn’t get a light. You could just actually have bad sensors. I have on my vw a high flow carted downpipe and that a Check engine light for it even being tuned, so I bought new sensors and it went away. You’re increasing the flow of exhaust through these so you need sensors that are reading accurate

      @RatchetWrenches  4 года назад

      Hmm use a lot of penetrating oil/fluid for the studs by the turbo. Everything will be more rusty than ours here, so have a torch if needed to break rust. I’ve heard story’s where rusted studs snap and then you’re going to need to drill them out. Drilling them out is time consuming plus the angle under there is hard for a drill to fit. Other than that this job is a pretty easy install. Goodluck! Comment if you have any questions

    • @RatchetWrenches
      @RatchetWrenches  4 года назад +1

      If by install kit you mean like the new gaskets and studs, yes I would suggest doing that. The gasket should always be replaced and the studs tend to break so it’s good to have replacements at your disposal rather then waiting around for them to come after you break them if that happens

    This was a waste of money and time. The stock exhaust is more than needed for the stock turbos. Even if you turn up the boost. It’s crazy how people think because they are making more noise. They are making more hp.

    • @RatchetWrenches
      @RatchetWrenches  5 лет назад

      That’s wrong. The diameter is bigger which increases air flow which increases performance

    • @blackericdenice
      @blackericdenice 5 лет назад

      @@RatchetWrenches The diameter is larger but it does not increase your hp because the parts you changed. Was not restricting hp. Just like you installed that cold air intake bs. All F150 use the same air filter. From the base 290 hp n/a v6 up to the 450 hp HO Raptor. Stop reading brochure trying to increase hp.
      When I'm ready to increase hp. I'm just going to turn up the boost. The stock exhaust can handle more than 325 hp.

    • @RatchetWrenches
      @RatchetWrenches  5 лет назад +1

      That’s wrong because we have a high flow cat rather then the stock one with all the restriction that goes into for emissions. We also needed a dp and the Cold air intake to accommodate our tune we just got. Our dyno run prior to the tune read about 34hp over what stock runs one. Which means the dp and Intake improved hp. And I’m not saying the stock hp from what the factory rates it at because that’s usually off, I’m saying from a dyno run with no mods on it.
