Agree 100% with the info of this video. I don't have a very steady hand for hand held shots but the combination of the VC (IS) of this lens paired with the IBIS of the R6 put an end to my problem. How is the dust sealing on this particular lens? I've heard photographers having a nightmare with Tamron and Sigma's current 24-70 due to *dust* getting sucked in to the lens due to *poor* sealing on the extending lens barrel. To your knowledge, does the Tamron F2.8 24-70mm G2 have a filter between the extending barrel and the main barrel to prevent dust from getting sucked into the lens? Or in your extensive use of the lens, have you detected any issues with dust [long term use]?
Any lens that you pair with an canon mirrorless body that has ibis will actually reduce the amount of ibis you get when paired with a lens that is NOT an RF mount lens. So you won't get 7-8 stops of stabilization unfortunately.
I have noticed that too! I've been searching online on this matter that talks about VC paired with Canon (with IBIS). Would you mind sharing the article you've found? TIA!

So sorry I just came across this! I haven't used the 24-105 f4, but I did do some research for you. It seems to be a common issue with that lens. I'd say this Tamron 24-70 is sharper for sure, however, you may need to calibrate the lens with the dock that tamron sells (it's like, $60) to make sure it's perfectly sharp.(I'm currently having to do this with mine on the R6II) I can say from experience though, when this lens is sharp... it's SHARP.
Hi Paul! Have you ever had any problem between de ef adpator and this lens, specially with the IS on? Something like a little "jump" on the image? Greetings from Chile!
I’m happy to report that I have not had a single issue with this lens and the EF adapter! It’s been flawless for me! 😁 Also, greetings from Colorado! It’s wonderful to interact with people from other places! Blessings!
Hiyaa! I wanted to ask even if it’s a bit redundant, if this lens allows to record fhd in a canon. I’m asking cause I have a canon rp and won’t let me record fhd with my sigma 30 mm. If anyone has any clue would be very useful!
@@PaulStrople you dont understood. You dont need stabilization for 24-50mm for photo technically, coz u will not get blur on this amount of mm (if your hands is ok). For example. To get blur on 24mm you need shatter speed longer than 1/24. In 50mm shutter speed longer than 1/50 sec. Ofc if you shooting rock steady people (not alive), you can shoot in 1/50, but i afraid that's not your model for photoshoot. If we a talking about alive people, you need shatter speed about 1/60-1/80 if you need not to get blur from their moving and stabilization will not help U. Sooo its suitable for video to reduce camera shakes.
For everyday and multipurpose usage, would you recommend this or the RF 24-105 f/4? They both are comparable in cost. Both have IS/VC. One has a longer zoom range and one has bigger aperture. But the RF lens fits on the Canon mirrorless without an adapter and this one requires an adapter thereby increasing weight. So for all day and all purpose usage, which one would you recommend?
For all day all purpose usage, I'd actually go with the Tamron 24-70. the weight difference even with the adapter is negligible, and the wider aperture is a lifesaver in low light. However, if you are shooting with an R6... the lowlight on that camera is insane, so you can get away with the 24-105's f/4 aperture.
I want to buy the Tamron 24-70 for my Canon 80d and I will get the 90d very soon but for now I will get the sigma 24mm 1.4 the sigma 70-200 and the sigma 18-35 and I'm done so please tell me about the flash cause I need to buy one

I do use Tamron 70 _ 200 f2.8 G2 on my Eos R with adapter and it is really sharp . I don't need to go over f3.5 even for 4-5 people group.
Please let me know about 24 70 f2.8 g2 if its sharper than 24 105 canon F4L.
Thanks
It's a shame he hasn't replied was wondering the same thing because I want to buy one of the 2
So sorry I just came across this!
Also, greetings from Colorado! It’s wonderful to interact with people from other places!
Blessings!
@@PaulStrople Good to know, man. Thanks! 👍🏻👍🏻
@@bacilazo No problem man! Glad I could help! 😁
I just got mine. Very happy with it!! Last question: in video mode, do you have a little noise from the aperture baldes when you open full at 2.8?
@@bacilazo No sir I have not. It’s been nice and clean!
Hello Thank you for the video, Could you please tell me if you activate the digital stabilization in the R6 ?
Most of the time I do not. It’s just IBIS plus lens stabilization. 😁
@@PaulStrople I say that because for me on my Eos R6 i MUST activate de Digital IS because the IS from the lens not working proprely in video :s
Hiyaa! I wanted to ask even if it’s a bit redundant, if this lens allows to record fhd in a canon. I’m asking cause I have a canon rp and won’t let me record fhd with my sigma 30 mm. If anyone has any clue would be very useful!
Yup! It should record fhd just fine. 👌🏻
Why you mention that u need stabilization only for video?! For photo its almost not usable.
You might have a whack copy of the lens. Mine worked just fine! :)
The bokeh on Tamron lenses is incredible.
@@PaulStrople thank you
I want to buy the Tamron 24-70 for my Canon 80d and I will get the 90d very soon but for now I will get the sigma 24mm 1.4 the sigma 70-200 and the sigma 18-35 and I'm done so please tell me about the flash cause I need to buy one
That seems like a solid setup for now!
I’m not the guy to ask about flash I’m afraid. I never use it. 😂😂
@@PaulStrople if you don't use flash how do I get better at taking pictures at night
@@johnthomas3941 fast glass, use available light, a slow shutter speed, a tripod and a camera with good lowlight performance at high ISO values help.
@@PaulStrople sounds like a good idea
@@PaulStrople so something like 1.2 and 1.4
Hi can someone help me? I own this tamron 27-70 G2 with a Canon R6 Mark ii. I use the Ef-R-Controll-Ring-Adapter. I noticed, when I turn my aperture from e.g. F10 back to F2.8 (AV- and TV-Mode) the Aperture goes only very slowly down - step by step to F2.8. What can i do??
I have the same combo, and mine does the same thing...kind of. It's not super slow, but it's not instant either. I've never found a solution, but it doesn't really bother me.
@@PaulStrople Oh, I did! Just turn of the depth of field live view ;)
I have to get my hand on this lens I'm letting my money build up so i can get me one for my 5D mark 4 canon camera
Ah yes.. Old Reliable! I loved my 5D IV when I had one!
@@PaulStrople once I get my hands on one that's it for me I'm not spending anymore money on another camera body. But I love your video on this lens I got to try it and be satisfied with it.
I got to buy a full fame camera
will this lens fit on canon m50 ii?
Did it work?
Just beware it’s amazing lens but 1 out of four will not focus sharp out of the box. You will need the dock and calibrate it. 😊
I just ordered the dock this morning haha. My copy of the lens is tack sharp in video, but a wee bit off for photo, so I'll calibrate it!
My RF 28-70 F2 disagrees.
And my wallet disagrees with your 28-70 F2. 😂
C'mon that's a way more expensive lens
It look like is best lens for R6. Don’t need RF lens
do you make any money?
not from this review, no haha.
only i see this micro wooble ??
Fantastic lens.. shame autofocus doesnt work on my sony fx6 with metabones and mc11 tested...
You lost me with the noise. I still prefer Canon 24-70
6:10 Ajjajajajaja
No. The best lens is "Helios 40-2 85mm 1.5". Variable focal length and autofocus for weaklings! :-D
2 years later, and I'd actually agree with you, haha. Although I prefer the 44-2 58mm f/2, personally.
It look like is best lens for R6. Don’t need RF lens.
That’s my thought! I love this lens! 😁
I have canon EOS R6 too, and I got one tamron 70-210mm f4. Love the lens too. And it only cost me $349
@@chengliang7501 that’s a great lens!
I love that focal range haha. I’ve got the Canon L 70-200 f/2.8, and I love it.
I’ve had that one for a long time though.
@@chengliang7501 I've been looking to get the 70-210mm f/4 for the RP, but concern about the adapted AF and VC performance has kept me from pulling the trigger. Have you had any issues with those, particularly with the R6's IBIS?
@@landonking2937 I don’t have issue with my AF and VC. Even I used a third party adapter from Mike.
