I super slow 240p 4k would be amazing. I think I would rather have that than 6k
Interesting to hear, my friend! As someone who absolutely loves wildlife, photography and videography. And at the end of the day, I guess, just loves slow motion! I totally get where you’re coming from.
I want both, because 6K gives me margin for tracking, zooming and stabilizing 4K projects in post.
These features are all very, looks like I'll need to remortgage my house to get one!!
You only need 5761 x 3840 (22.1MP 3:2 sensor) to get a 6K 5760 x 3240 16:9 sub-frame, but 24MP would give it some focus breathing compensation margin in 6K modes.

Not bad amigo.I like the A7SiV, but my fav is the A7S3 FOR VIDEOS. I just wish they updated the firmware with more addons. There ll be an update in March 24, but lots of people are still dissapointed as they re only bringing breathing compensation and C2PA format support. I was expecting a bit more too. Oh well..
Will they have also solved the over heating issue with the A7 IV??
I can't even wrap my head around what the a7s4 will improve upon other than say a bump in resolution. A 24MP 6k sensor with the same ISO range and rolling shutter performance, would be both only a minor incremental change and... be incredible!!
I guess only time will tell my friend. But, what about open gate? What if it shot 6K 120 slow motion? What about 4K 240?
What if it had 8 stop IBIS? Yummy.
@@BrianGJohnsonPhotography I'd be overjoyed with open gate, and the higher frame rates would be a bonus... And maybe a new, 'Active Dynamic Active' (double active) stability!
A7siii doesnt even give 1080 100fps in 10 bit right? Is it technically impossible, or is there some reason it doesn't have that but people are looking at 6k instead?
Is your picture at 0:18 in Utah? I was just there and the skyline was so amazing.

I am curious why you think 6K will be so great with the A7SIV? As far as I am aware, the industry will eventually leap to 8K from 4K. I could only see the big benefit in situations where I apply a crop to the clips. For example, I typically apply a 95% crop to most of my 4K footage taken from my A7SIII. In other words, most of the videos on my channel is not actually 4K resolution -- it is closer to around 3.8K or so after it has been stabilized.
I am hoping the big advancement with the A7SIV will be dynamic range. As you can see in a lot of my videos where I walk into the sun, the detail of the ground is horrible compared to the human eye.
I believe the next gen sensors will be stacked BSI.

I really love EVFs and a 6K/24MP A7Siv would be great, but realistically I thing heat management might force to continue only with FXn line for video centric FF mirrorless compact cameras.
6K 60P 10bit, 4K 240P 10bit and same EVF as A1 is all I want from my next camera, couldn't care less if it is A7S4 or A9iii.
6K 120P and 4K 240P and I would be in heaven.

A new A7Siv and A7v would kill off the competition. The A7R5 seems to have kicked off the new generation of Sony cameras, even the a6700 benefitted from the A7R5 features. While I don't need the new cameras, others will sell their first born for one. I plan on working my a6700 hard. It really is a great aps-c camera that has A7R5 new technology DNA. Though one day I want the R5 so bad.
Totally agree on the A7R5, that camera was the first in the current lineup. Now, in the coming weeks and months, Sony will add to that lineup.
A7Siv will definitely have 6k open gate and all the new AI features. It will have a great view finder and multi angle screen like a7R5. Hopefully it will get a 24MP sensor, BUT Sony will definitely cripple the photo capabilities (probably no mechanical shutter).

It's premature to suggest that they will cripple it. Also, I hope it does not get the 24mp treatment. Would much rather an evolution of the current sensor.
If they cripple the photo capabilities, then it would just be a crappy version of the FX3. Nothing unique stands out about it, they should at least make it into a hybird camera.
My foresight is telling me that Sony won’t release any new updates for the a7s3. They will either continue to favor the FX line or release the a7s4 in order to force a7s3 owners to upgrade in order to have access to new features that they could’ve had with simple firmware updates. Mark my words 😊…..

A7siv better be the full size body and a7rv screen lol. I can’t do these toy ass cameras that have been coming out with their terrible evf and screen. I need the real deal not watered down money grabs.
We live in 2023 and as long as there is that rolling shutter problem, nobody is a king.
