This is a quick tutorial outlining the process of restoring your 2011 MacBook Air. Since the MacBook Air no longer ships with system restore disks (or restore USB key), this is the only way to either restore the system or recover it from a Time Machine backup. The process I've outlined will leave you with a freshly installed copy of Apple OSX Lion. Наука
@uptramz03 Already have dude, do a search on my channel.
This Is the best tutorial for these types of tutorials. Very clear, very informative, very succinct. Keep up the good work
Hi man! I know it's been 10 years, but I was factory resetting my 10-year-old macbook air today, and your tutorial was the only one that was clear enough to help me. Now I can finally retire my trusty old mac, sell it for some money and get myself a better PC. You helped out a broke student today, thank you so much 💌💌

Quick tip: If you don't see recovery hard disk option at the very start and only your main Mac OS, use the CMD+R method while restarting your MacBook and it will take you straight to the recovery disk. Hope it helps!

So I bought a MacBook Air from my friend. It turned out he still had his password lock on the start up! He also forgot his password too. Then I came across this video that helped me wipe out all the data and factory restore it. Clear, simple, easy to follow. Great video! Thanks a bunch.
I am trying on my 2011 MBA. Also password.locked. no matter which method I tried, it will reboot to the password and account page. Anyone can help?

When it is booting up you can press CMD + R! This brings you right to your recovery HD!
THANK YOU! For anyone else that doesn't see Recovery HD as an option. This worked for me :D
this did helped me a lot thanks
Just a tip: on mid-2013 macbook air you hold down command + R instead of option key
Same on mid-2011 MacBook air too! CMD+R takes you straight to the recovery disk.
Thank you for the tips on how to reset my old 2011 mac book air have a blessed day or evening when you read this
very good explanation i like it
OMG THIS HELPS SOOOOO MUCH !!!!!!
Haha - 2021 and I still own my MackBook Air from 2011. Thanks mate!
Thanks for the vid. Appreciate it.
THANK YOU!! VERY HELPFULL!!!!
Consegui fazer tudo sem multo problema. Otimo passo a passo
Thanks! Awesome and big help!
Thank you so much I had accidentally downloaded a virus and I needed to get rid of it and this video helped me so much. If you guys don't have the recovery hold command r and the power button press the power button once and hold the command r until it shows up to where u have to erase THANKS SO MUCH😎
Had the same problem. Don't use "power + option" to access the recovery partition. Instead, hold down "Command + R" and press the power button. Hold "Command and R" until the recovery starts. Then use disk utility to clean the drive. Mine worked. I had the "couldn't unmount disk" with option key but not with command+r combination.
Is not giving me the second option ( recovery HD) what can I do?
Karim Suriel idk man
facts I only have 1 option
@@brianaandkaylee657 did you find out how to get past this?
I would assume your macbook uses a recovery disk/USB like he talked about in the video
Command + R
@RelapseLGW That's cool. I just like having the customizable PC's and variability and I can get so much done with PC. I guess it's all about personal preference and if Mac is what you like, then I can't really change that.
Thanks a lot. Really helped
THANK YOU!!! It went well.
nice video, was looking just for that.. Thx!!
Just fixed a 50usd macbook air with this video in 2021! Thanks! :)
Great video.
should post more mac HOW TO videos, really helpful
Thanks u guys saved my life
thanks bro so clear .....
In disk utility there is a repair permissions button that should fix this, after it repairs the disk you should be able to erase it. Hope this helps!
Thanks very much, very helpful.
Thanks man .
Good Job
Thanks a lot! You saved me! :D
For anyone having problems with accessing the Recovery Partition (NOTE: You must be with range of a WiFi connection that you can access):
1. Shut down and wait about 10 seconds
2. Get 3 fingers ready over the 'Command', 'Option' and 'R' keys
3. Power the device on and immediately press those 3 keys
4. This should put you into Internet Recovery Mode, Once here, allow the Mac to complete the processes it needs.
5. Follow this tutorial as of 0:55 seconds.
Hope this helps
Thanks this helped a lot was starting to get really annoyed haha thanks !
LazarouDave That didn't work for The Rock! You've got some explaining to do, son.
The Rock Why haven't you responded, it's almost been a whole minute? The Rock doesn't like people wasting his time.
Thank you solo much
The Rock you have to hold down command and R when starting up
Your video is the best
