Excellent presentation, especially the third part where proper charging and discharging of the battery is discussed. I had one problem. Several screws were worn out and I had hard time removing it. Mine was purchased in 2011. I am sure there are others who had similar struggles. I got good tips from RUclips, but it sure wasn't easy.
Excellent Video !! you deserve awards for this :-) ... just FYI ... my MacBook Air (late 2011 model) had 6-Point Torx screws holding the battery in place, rather than the 5-Point Torx screws that the video specifies. The back cover does however have the specified 5-Point Torx screws. Also, it may be worth mentioning that using compressed air to blow dust away is advisable once the back cover and battery are removed.
I just finish replacing and calibrating my computer with my new battery from OWC excellent video I did it with ease and my computer works great thank you....

It's hard to say, as some batteries/products have foam pieces that you remove, others you leave to add cushion/protection. If its for this specific battery I would leave it, if its for another model I would check the specific instructions for that unit, or if its from another manufacturer, I would check the instructions they provide as well.
The last step, after the battery has been discharged for at least 5 hours and you charge it again... did you say you "can" use the computer while it's charging, or you "can't"?
so i have a question, upon taking the battery out, this little rubber part fell off. its the thats shaped like a double sided L. i believe it the little part above the fan. Do i need to put it back in? if so how? glue? is it meant to be loose? should i dispose it and leave it?

Letting it discharge completely to 0% is generally not recommended as it can shorten the battery’s lifespan. I believe this is subjective because each and every new battery might comes with different power level (some may come fully-charged some may not) so my suggestion is, trust the light indicator.
Thank you. August 2023, and my 2011 Air definitely needs a fresh battery - less than an hour, and old battery goes dead.

Worked like a charm. And now my MacBook Air (that had swollen up like a pregnant hippo) is looking normal again. I was gonna bin it! So glad I didn't.

Is Brtong is the main provider of macbook air batteries?
My replacement battery says let it discharge to 2%, then go to 100%. But you say let it go to 0, before charging to full. I am confused.
