    FUN FACT: Toyota chose the 4 cylinder 3S-GT rally engine, over the 6 cylinder 2JZ to be used in motorsports, in legendary cars such as the Castrol Supra because it was lighter, more efficient and allowed the cars to have a better weight distribution.

      @@HOTPLATEGAMING by that logic your ass should give up ICE altogether and get an all electric vehicle. For the same price of this Supra, you can get a model 3 that will absolutely smoke it in a straight line. Its also infinentally more practical for daily use. Also by your logic, Toyota shouldn't of even brought this car back - at the least, they should of just turned it into an SUV. After all, two door sports coupes aren't selling well either. The reality is, this is already a niche car, and a large portion of the niche that will actually consider buying it are interested in a manual transmission. Toyota dropped the ball here. The 86 has a manual option. There is zero reason for the supra not to have one too.

      @@SK-mi5qv yea especially with the delays sadly. And with the 2021s I heard that the euro market might be stuck with the same engine that was still in the 2020 mk5s because of emission reasons while the us and a few other markets are getting the more powerful 2021 mk5s with the Z4s engine(same engine as the Z4 but it has a lower compression compared to the Z4s B58). As much as id like to say screw the emissions for doing that to the euro market but thats sadly the way it's more than likely going to be whenever the 2021s come out.

But it resulting with 400hp is pretty high since the 2020s rated 340-350hp Other than Toyotas 335hp that they said it had stock so it's a high chance the 2021s hp is also underrated. And probably more prone to boost because of the heads.

    You, sir, are the boss and I really appreciate that you shed light on the 4-cylinder Supra as well. But, to be honest, I'm not really a fan of the 4-cylinder Supra (and the 4-cylinder Z4s, the 20i and the 30i, for that matter) because I think that if someone has come that far on buying the Supra or the Z4, then why not make the better choice and buy the 6-cylinder version?
    The 4-cylinder versions of the Z4, especially the 30i, seem to me like some more expensive MX5s and frankly, apart from showing off to your friends, neighbours and your office colleagues, I don't see the point in why to choose them. At least the 6-cylinder has the sound to make the show-off even more of a sensual experience! The 4-cylinders have a nice base sound when starting up but they just moan characterlessly in high revs while the 6-cylinder simply sings near its rev limit!
    Besides, you said it by yourself, too: ''The 6-cylinder is an efficient engine and could be more efficient than the highly-tuned 4-cylinder!''!

      @@warcryjohn the aisin is what they use in the transverse engined cars with high horsepower figures like the mini jcw gp, mini countryman jcw and the m135i/235i. The low output cars use a 7-spd dct. They've been using the zf with this engine in many other cars so, it's not specific to the supra or the z4.

    In Sweden we only have the 6-cylinder - and that is around €60K. Can't see how a €50K 4-cylinder would be worth even offering. If you can't afford 60K you won't probably afford 50K either. If it was in the 40's it would have more of a place on the market.

    What an amazing looking car. If I had possibility (place in garage) I would definetly go right ahead and buy that car. Thank you for showing us the two engine options. I would pick the 4 cilinder, it will be more than enough for Belgian roads. I wonder if this car is a good long term investment. Is this car viable for everyday driving?

    Mmmmh super interesting video ! Thanks a lot ! The Supra looks great in real ... and better than the Z4, too "complicated".. Inside, too ! More simple in toyota cockpit. This Supra has a good handling, i really liked it on track .. ! And the best surprise is the sound of the 2.0 inside and outside ! Thanks Mini .. :) Though, more natural than L6 from inside, i think. Thanks for this vid, in this no- automotive-activity time :p

    I like the new Supra but it should have been better by being worse. What i mean by that is i think they could have developed the platform and powertrain together but then went separate ways. So for example with the infotainment system, they could have easily used a Toyota one instead of BMW and save a lot of money. If they had done this they could have gotten the cost down from $50,000 to under $40,000 and the car would have made more sense. It would have also pleased the Toyota fans.

      3.0 has 50:50 weight distribution but since the 4 banger version drops 200lbs in the car so that changes it.

    The digital cluster is weird. Why they put the gear info in the middle, while put speed on the side? I mean, when you are in manual model, it makes some sense. But 90% of time ppl are driving in auto model, it is just a stupid D or S in the middle.

    a naturally aspirated straight 6 would be great:
    -better sound than this 4 an probably than the turbo 6;
    -enough power, as has the turbo 4;
    -better efficiency at WOT than all turbos;
    -about the same weigh as this turbo 4;
    -no balance shafts;
    -a bit better reliability;
    -easier serviceability;
    -the ZF 8 speed matches the 3.0 very well; the 2.0 could do with a 6 speed (manual?....hmmm).
