  • Finally a complete list of all the necessary parts you will need for your T5 swap!
Once the parts list is sorted the first step is to tackle the flywheel, pilot bearing, pressure plate, and clutch installation.
For PART 1 check out the video at the link below where I remove my old AOD automatic transmission: • How to Swap a Manual i...
In this video I install the King Cobra Clutch for a 302 5.0 SBF. This clutch and flywheel combo is meant for cars making below 400hp. The clutch, which is supplied by Modern Driveline, included the bellhousing spacer plate, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, and all ARP hardware.
In my next video I will cover the installation of the hydraulic master and slave cylinders, bellhousing, transmission, and other necessary components to complete the swap.

Awesome stuff, do you have a parts list and total cost?

Its been a little while. I want to say around $2500ish for trans (secondhand rebuilt) and all of the parts but it could have been closer to $3k after custom driveshaft and whatnot. I was able to resell some of the automatic parts so that offsets the cost.
I found an old quote but its pretty long. If you call up Modern Driveline, let them know you saw this video, and tell them your year/make model Im sure they can help you.

I'm confused. In the video you cut open the tunnel for the floor shifter and then welded it back closed.... Why? Also, how did you calculate the opening position?

Its been a bit since I made this video but if I recall the previous owner had a jagged hole cut for the previous AOD trans/cables. I wanted to make a clean hole and likely cut larger than what was needed. At the end, after I had sufficient room, I welded it back up neatly so I could install a boot and make it all look pretty. Cutting the hole takes some measurement/guess and check. Having done this multiple times its typically easier to make the hole large and then close it up at the end.
