  • Ullapool is our next destination on our NC500 Tour of the highlands of Scotland. Of the whole NC500 the drive from Durness to Ullapool was our favourite. The scenery is dramatic every mile of this journey. Loch after Loch, Mountain after Mountain, the magical beauty just blew us away. On reaching Ullapool we were lucky enough to find a sea front pitch at the Broomfield Holiday Park.
    00:00 Intro
    01:09 Drive to Ullapool
    05:35 Arrive Ullapool
    08:54 eBike Adventure
    17:27 Corrieshalloch Gorge
    Our main activity was an ebike ride East Rhidorroch. With almost 2000ft of elevation gain over some very remote highland this was a great adventure. We were rewarded with a hikers suspension bridge at the furthest point and then the beautiful Loch Achall on our return.
    Download the ebike ride here: www.wikiloc.com/mountain-biki...
    As we leave Ullapool heading south we stop after about 20 minutes to see the Corrieshalloch Gorge. Corrieshalloch is one of the most spectacular gorges of its type in the UK and the whole Canyon is about 1 mile long. Parking is limited here so arrive early! You'll only need about 30 minutes to see the suspension bridge, viewing platform and walk around the footpaths.

    Anti clockwise is the best way on the nc500 as the views just keep giving. We went to the same fish n chips shop in Ullapool and we thought the best we have ever had. We felt we hadn't even scratched the surface of what we could do and see in Scotland. Really love your vlogs and would like to thank you as we are techno phobes and don't do videos of where we have been just memories in our heads ☺. We showed our sons where we had been on your vlog saying that's where we went.

    Thanks for taking me places I'd never go! I mean on those bike trails, not Scotland :-) Oh that truck was pretty special, he must have a very understanding wife. If I rocked up onto the drive with that monster and said "let's go tour Europe" I hate to think the reaction I'd get. Yes, you're right a bit of Sun does really make all the difference, changes the whole landscape. It's good to experience both though, as low cloud and mist give it a certain feel too. Thanks for sharing.

    Brilliant as always guys, Broomfields looks good, we were looking at Ardmair Point as a launching point from Ullapool to Lewis and Harris but Broomfield fish and chips might have changed that!! Cycle looked challenging 😂 in places. Great video though, we love Wester Ross huge empty places. Great video thanks for sharing, Ian and Lyndz.

    • @ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures
      @ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures  Год назад +2

      Thanks 😊 its great to hear you are enjoying our channel and it has reached the United States 😀 Re the NC500, The West Coast is best to aim to spend more time on that side, there's so much to see we didn't cover all of it, if you have chance go to the islands on the West Coast, we drove straight though Glencoe which along with the Cairngorms are also worth seeing. Depends how much time you have? If you are going May-Sept be aware you may face the dreaded midges. Don't worry about the small roads, there are passing places everywhere and most play fair - the rule is pull into a passing place on the left only , if its on the right the other vehicle will pull in. - thats a quick brain dump! If you have any questions happy to answer 😀 cheers...Andy&Michelle

    • @ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures
      @ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures  2 года назад

      Thanks 😀, the LPG is very close, just on the edge of the town. It's not actually a fuel garage this one, just pull up into the yard and on the right you'll see the big LPG tank. just ask one of the workers and they'll ask you to go into the office afterwards to pay. Cheers

      Thanks Mark, this route just popped out as an obvious choice when we looked at the OS Map, it was actually then also seconded by a runner we spoke to in the tourist information so we knew it was going to be a good one. Quite rough and tough in places though, even with ebikes⛰🚵‍♀️, Cheers...Andy&Michelle

    Great adventure guys, I love Ullapool, Knockencrag is a really great place for a quick visit. Drone footage was really good, what are you using? I use a Phantom 4 pro but was looking for something more portable and noticed your shots had some serious wind but didn’t affect the drone?

    • @ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures
      @ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures  2 года назад +1

      Hi, it’s great to hear you are enjoying our adventures, we are using a DJI mini2 in our latest videos, previously a mavic pro but some of the shots you are seeing may not be from a drone at all, I have a 3m pole with a 360 camera on the end which gives drone like shots, even that in high winds can be difficult to hold but at least it won’t blow away! 😀🤞 cheers …Andy&Michelle
