- Day 27/28 Motorhome Tour , Gorges, Alpine Coasters and Lakes at Zell am See and Kaprun.
We stay at Sportcamp Woferlgut although the "Panorama Camp Zell am See" would have been our preferred choice for being close the lake (Full). That's not to say we didn't enjoy our site, the restaurant and crazy golf were great. It's just a pity we didn't get to experience the Spa but the pricing structure makes it not worth a one off visit. As mentioned in the video, you have to pay €10 pp each for every day regardless of how many days you use the Spa.
The ride around the lake is fun as is the ride over to Kaprun where you can walk up the SIGMUND THUN GORGE and have a go on the Alpine Coaster. There's a lot more to do in ZELL AM SEE and KAPRUN, the weather stopped us going high on the Chair Lifts

Great video. We went there in 2013, the town had a lovely vibe. Zell am Zee is where the Porsche motor car came into existence created by a family company. Reportedly one of the sons used to drive over the lake in the winter when the water was frozen in his Porsche, but one year the ice was very thin and the car broke through and ended up at the bottom, I believe it is still there today. Looking forward to your Hallstatt video, we stayed there in 2017. Stunning place.

Go back in the winter the skiing is great and sometimes the lake freezes over, although this is less common these days. It was when I visited in the early 90’s you could walk across from one side to the other.

We visited the Sigmund Thun gorge in September 2021 as part of an Austria /. Switzerland roadtrip. It was absolutely beautiful. The day after we hiked up the Krimmler Wasserfälle and I treated myself wife to a trip to the Swarovski museum near Innsbruck. Great times ❤

It’s just over 2 miles, the Panorama Campsite is closer to the lake than the one we stayed at, cheers…Andy&Michelle
