- Part 2 of our Active HALLSTATT adventure. We take the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car to the Five Fingers platform, the Prehistoric Shark and one of the best Tourist Ice Caves in the world. There is also a second “Mammoth Cave” Of the two caves if you only have time for one, definitely do the Ice Cave.
The next day we ride across the lake in a 12-metre Zille, a type of barge that the locals were using 500 years ago. This takes us to the start of our hike above Hallstatt, which includes a Bare foot Hike and an exhilarating steep climb up a cliff face.

We stayed 2 nights in Wohnmobilstellplatz oberbraun on the south side of the lake before moving to Parkplatz Stranded, we preferred the first one but for the lakeside but the second was better for getting the boat into Hallstatt.
Don’t forget to see Hallstatt Part 1 where we experience the fantastic Salt Mine and a beautiful bike ride on a platform by the lake’s edge.

If you ever plan on visiting Ireland and come into the ferry post in Dublin , you are more than welcome to overnight on my property loads of space and only 25 minutes from port on main road to the west of Ireland 🇮🇪.. it's only a matter of time before we get a motorhome ( had one a few years ago) .. keep up the top class content.. Loved this video. In 2017 we had a week Obertraun our Hotel was just beside the jetty you took the boat from. Halstatt and the local area is stunning we had a fantastic stay there before moving on to

Hallstatt is one of our Fav places 😍 We could only stay 2 nights when we visited so plan to go back again..
