Hi Im a local, and i have been battling cancer for two years. I drive to hospital in glasgow and back three days a week, always via the Glen. This journey soothes my soul and I always stop at the Laraig Gartain or the Three Sister Carpark to breathe the air and sit awhile. This film means I can share the good bits.
This is without doubt one of the most breathtaking views in the UK, you have to drive it in person to fully appreciate the true scale. Beautiful Scotland.
Many times I have enjoyed flying into Scotland, getting a hire car and setting out for a different part of the country. Solo or with a friend...i go by the grocery store, pick up a cooler, some vittles, a fold out table and chairs and hit the road! Stop at a scenic spot and enjoy lunch while taking in the magnificent views! Oh, Bonnie Scotland! 🏔️☺️😎🌊🤗
It is Saturday morning here in Oz and am having breakfast while watching this wonderful footage, I will never cease to be amazed at the sheer beauty that nature has bestowed on this planet and Scotland has a huge share, thank you for a delightful start to my weekend. Take care and all the best.
Yea whilst God was making Scotland he said i will give them majestic hills & glens, rivers with salmon, and plentiful fruit, good arable land, highland coos, and wee shetland ponies... St.Peter bloody hell that’s a bit unfair ... god you ain’t seen their neighbours 😂😂🏴
Brought back. Many happy memories my late wife and I travelled it often over the last 30 odd years brought tears and smiles to my face thanks for letting me see my memories
This is an incredible video and yet it still doesn’t do it justice. I have travelled this road many many many times and each time I still get goosebumps. It never gets any less spectacular no matter how many times I drive through. It takes my breath away every time. I love my wee country 🏴🥰
Love the route but now, on this one and the bulk of Scottish scenic roads, there lurks an horrific pot hole situation. Don't travel with out a spare tyre.
@@ianowen7335 I haven't been along here for 12 years because too disabled to get out. We used to go to Scotland every year. I see many more places to pull off than we knew. It is a beautiful road, all the way to Skye. In fact the whole west coast from here and parts inland are spectaculrly beautiful as is Skye. I miss it very much so your post has been wonderful thank you.
Great wee video.I could not agree more.I have been up and down this stunning stretch of road countless times and it always gives me enormous pleasure. We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful country.I absolutely love it. ATB
Last time I drove north on this road it was in glorious sunshine the whole day, Scotland looked amazing. Three days later I drove back south, in dark overcast conditions and Scotland looked even better. As a Welshman my country is beautiful as well, but Scotland has a wild untamed and very expansive feeling. For anyone wondering, go, you will not regret it.
I am so proud to be Scottish.I love love Glencoe. It is my fav place and is only a mere 2 hour drive from whee we stay. Where the eagle soars and the stag roars.Thank you so much for this fantastic footage
Some 37 years have passed since my first visit to Glencoe and Ballachulish. A misty morning in late June gave way to sunshine, and the hills were deep green of summer. Making the turn from the A82 onto the single track road through Glen Etive was the best surprise of the day. Highland scenic treasure beginning to end. Thanks for sharing this excellent video of your visit, Steve. Health and peace!
55 years ago I raised the alarm for a missing hiker in these hills. His body was recovered two days later. I was told he was 18 and its only now, with dreams of Glen Coe surfacing that I realise , so was I ..... and it could just as easily been me we were looking for up there. Great video, thank you.... and in case anyone hasn't been, the actuallity is even more thrilling.
Hi Steve, I've watched this video before, but today it really moved me, I driven this road 3 times, on my way to Port Appin, then going on to the Isle of Lismore. I was blown away by the beauty of these mountains the first time I drove it, I just kept saying wow, wow, wow. I hike and wildcamp and I always feel closer to the ones who are no longer here anymore when I'm on a mountain , I lost my mother in April last year, so the combination of the beautiful music and mountains in this video, I'm not afraid to say, moved me to tears, thinking about my mother. Keep up the great work, I always look forward to your new videos releases, cheers mate 👍🙂
Drove this twice in the last week, both in 35 degree blazing sunshine, once at 4pm, the second time at 9am. The morning version saw low clouds and mist before they were burnt off, and whilst this film tries, nothing can convey the sheer beauty like your own eyes. It truly is breathtaking and never looks the same twice.
Taking these journeys with you from Texas, USA. My ancestors came from Scotland, Ireland, G.B. and Austrian in the 1700's and 1800's. I hope to travel these roads someday. Enjoyed your review of the ferry boats.
Scotland is a beauitful and amazing country. breathtaking. and unspoiled beauty. I remember driving that route in 2006. Just love watching your videos. Please continue. Thank you Steve.
Amazing road Steve. Just done it over the weekend for the first time as a Scotsman (bit embarrassed to admit that), the weather was incredible. I've never seen scenery like it in my life. Takes the breath away. Great video.
You did well getting a clear run - the last couple of times I went up that road, I got a lot of traffic in front of me several times. The weather conditions in this video showed the scenery at its finest.
As I am dying I will want to watch this video. Being a Macdonald, this wonderful video makes my heart ache for home…Glencoe. Living in Los Angeles now. Was last home a few years ago. Drove the NC500. Terrific video Steve🏴👍👍
In a word - YES! Just gone straight to the top of my Bucket List - thank you! For the first 50 years of my life I lived in Kent, down south, and apart from a couple of hours in Motherwell one day in the early 70s, delivering a lorryload of British Steel diaries to the foundry there with a mate of mine, I never went near Scotland. Since then I've made a couple of day trips to Edinburgh over ten years ago now - and that's it. God, I need to go back to Scotland and see more of this. Your Channel has opened my eyes big time! Subscribing now.... ;-))
Just found this video. The first time I travelled this road was with my aunt and uncle and cousins towing a caravan in 1959. The road wasn’t in such good condition but oh boy what a thrill. I’ve travelled the A82 on many occasions since and never tire of it, it’s got to be the most scenic road in the whole of the UK, it even tops Applecross. Thank you so much, you’ve made my day.
Cheers, Steve! My name is Sean and I live in Atlanta and I am one of your subscribers and just wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying watching this video! My roots are about a third Scottish and I think the country is breathtakingly beautiful! I hope to come back to the UK this November and I just wanted to say thanks for a great video! Sean
Thanks so much Sean! Both for watching and for getting in touch :) All the best getting back over to these shores in November - I want to come the other way and explore more of your wonderful country! All the best to you!
I drove this route in 2018. It’s absolutely stunning scenery. Took me so much longer than 20 minutes as I kept stopping to take photos! A87 Broadford to Portree is another favourite of mine.
I drove this route only a few weeks ago. Living in leafy Buckinghamshire, this scenery is stunningly beautiful. I also drove through Skye taking the Mallaig ferry crossing twice. Thanks for posting this.
Really lifted my spirit taking that drive with you today. The Lord alone knows how many times I've travelled that road to clamber amongst the hills of Glen Coe, and beyond. Every time I make that climb up from Loch Tulla, and level out on the moor, my heart soars at what lies ahead. My hill walking days are all but over, but not my travelling days, and happy to say that in a couple of weeks I'll travel that road once again, on my way to the Outer Hebrides.
Climbed up to the Hidden Valley by the Three Sisters, and stayed at the Kingshouse (@7:30) just last month. Great to see this video and recall this spectacular area - can't wait to return. Thanks for sharing with us.
This is very hard for a Yorkshire Man to say...... But WOW.............. The best video I have seen for a very long time.... Amazing Job Steve....... 10/10..... so Beautiful, I have driven over 2 million miles in my life but I have not seen too many roads like this... :-))))
@@steve-marsh Credit where credit is due Steve... I sat mesmerised through the whole video... A great piece of work.... Music and no chat just enhanced it.... Looking forward to part 2... Take care and regards to "She" :-))))) Alicja
For what its worth, Shirley boy, we live in the south lakes in Cumbria, which are of course stunning. However, we have travelled to Argyll every Whit for 20 years for a family holiday within c. 30 miles of Oban. And its the one time we come home to the lakes and say "well, not bad I suppose". Argyll trumps the lakes in every way that matters to us. Bigger mountains, bigger vistas, stunning coastline, lots of islands and ferry trips, friendlier people, roads TO DIE FOR.. (if you been to the lakes .. ugh!), sea lochs AND fresh water lochs, AND WAY FEWER PEOPLE!!! :) We will be straight back as soon as circumstances allow. Go. You will never regret it!

It reminds me the first time I went to Glencoe. March 2017. It was a sunny day (unusual hahahaha), it snowed the day before. Man... One of the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my entire life. Damn, I miss Scotland so much! Love your videos! Keep it up, pal! Greetings from Seville.
I think I've watched this 5 or 6 times and am still gob smacked at the quality of the imagery. I did hitch hike this route in 1973 and really have a feel for the awestruckness, I experienced as a pedestrian. WOW Steve!
Steve, your videos always make me homesick for my homeland. There is nowhere else like it on the planet. Sadly, because of health issues, I will probably not be able to return. Your videos are great to see. Stuck in the USA.
The amazing thing about Scotland (and much of Europe) is how far north it is. If you went to Canada or Russia at the same latitude, you would experience much more extreme weather during the winter. That Gulf Stream really gives you the best of both worlds. You get the incredible beauty of the Far North but with a more livable climate. I live in Southern California and I have to remind myself that I basically live at the latitude equivalent of Rabat, Morocco LOL. Scotland really is in a different league compared to where i live.
I remember driving this route as an eleven year old boy in 1971 with my father and mother (now deceased). Such beautiful memories came flooding back. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏.
I've driven this just after sunset with a filthy rainstorm moving up the glen and swallowing the tail lights ahead. It felt biblical. Whatever the weather, this road is a treat.
When we drove this stretch of road last summer I could feel this huge amazed smile on my face and hear sounds of wonder emoting from my voice. I, too, videoed it and watch it over and over again . I wish we lived over there so I could see it in person more often. It will be a drive we will take every time we come home to Scotland to visit my husband's brother and family.
You had a really fine day filming this Steve, but I almost think it's even more beautiful under a rainy cloud-base. I drove this yesterday from Loch Ness back to Liverpool. It is a truly wonderful, wondrous drive. I'm coming back next spring just to do it all again. The best road in the world!
My greetings from Ukraine. I want to say that Scotland is one of those countries whose picturesque nature impresses me. No seriously, there is something in these steppes, surrounded by mountains, without trees and other bushes (Although screenshots became the background of the desktop). If you have the opportunity, I advise you to try to ride with us in the Carpathian Mountains. The mountains are also very beautiful.
By far the singe best road anywhere in the UK. No other road is as beautiful as this one! Used to be up and down it all the time when I lived in Ft. William - but never driven it myself.. It really is something I have to do - especially after watching this video. You got a cracking day for that drive as well Thank yo for this one! ❤
I've drive through the national parks on the west coast of America, I've driven through the German and Austrian Alps, I've been in Switzerland but non of them come close to the dramatic landscape that is Scotland. The ice age was good for our wee country and this just shows it so well. It really is the greatest country in the world and it gives me goosebumps when I tell people I from Scotland. Thanks for a fine film. Have you been on the "old military road" going back south again. That's a special road but it takes s bit of concentration but its wel worth it.🏴
Cheers Michael - it’s so true, there are many fine places around the world, but there’s something so damn magical about how history has sculpted Scotland 😊 not done that road, love that I have many new places to explore!
Buachaille Etive Mhor is such an iconic mountain... instantly recognizable! and the Glencoe with the 3 sisters on one side and Aonach Eagach on the other ... did you have time for a pint and a pie in the Clachaig?
I stayed at the Clahaig Inn while doing the West Highland Way.The sign at the bar read "Due to unforeseen circumstances the following is no longer on the menu and there was a menu stuck to the notice...the unforeseen circumstances...the chef was pissed at the end of the bar.
@@druss69harad61 I recall many many years ago (70 something) a Canadian couple came into the bar, and one of them asked for a "whisky w/blackcurrent cordial" - the then owner/barman replied " I'll no serve ye that..." and promptly left the bar and the couple! epic!
I was smiling watching this blog , has we've just returned from your beautiful country, and we drove down this road the most amazing views ever, it was our 1st visit to Scotland, it certainly won't be our last, already got a 28 day visit for next year 😊
Kansas sweatshirt ("Rock chalk Jayhawks...KU"). Barren, craggy, snow-capped peaks reflected in a mirror-like tarn. Clear, bright-blue sky. Sparse vegetation. Light traffic. Are you sure you weren't driving on the wrong side of the road in Colorado?? What a beautiful video! Looking forward to Part 2, and I can't wait to see that great scenery for myself one of these days. Thanks, Steve!
Thank you Steve! So glad that RUclips recommended this video completely randomly! I remember this road so well! I took a trip on a whim after deciding I needed a complete reset from what had been a couple of crappy years in my life. Woke up one morning in Feb 2015, booked, what turned out to be, a fantastic B&B in Fort William. Started the drive only a few days later from Hertfordshire. Drove the route at night in snow on the way North. Didn't appreciate what the scenery was like that night as was pitch black with snow on either side. The following morning, I drove down to an old Scout haunt of mine in Lochearnhead in crisp, blue sky weather. It was the most beautiful, relaxing and awe-inspiring roads I have ever driven! This video reminded me that there are places to go where one can forget about the trials and stresses of normal life and just take a deep breath!! Thank you so much from a, now, very smiley middle aged man!!
So glad the video found it's way to you Nick! Love the fact you didn't realise what the scenery was like until daylight, what a great surprise that must've been! :) Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Brilliant part of the world, can't wait to get back up there. I love the "back way" from Fort Augustus to Inverness via Foyers too, feels really remote, and often get the road to yourself.
Scotland oh! Scotland from my first time I miss thee so dearly, from the hills and valleys to the many streams that run so nicely, and Scotland oh! Scotland thank you so much.
Wow, Steve, what an absolutely stunning video. I'm heading there on a photography event this coming weekend, and can really understand what you say about having to focus on the road. I'd love to do what you did and record the scenery (although, in April I doubt it will look as beautiful as you recorded it) but just for me to remind me of the event. Can I ask what you used to do the recording - promise you won't have any competition from me; I'm just a 75 year old beginner!!! Can't wait to see the rest of your Scottish catalogue. I live in the countryside near LIncoln, but this is my favourite part of the UK. Keep up the brilliant work.
Noooo, A cliff hanger, I can’t stand the anxiety of waiting for part 2 🤦♀️🤣 I’m so so into this awesomely beautiful drive, remembering fondly my trip with my son in 2019 as you go, my heart melting at the views and the memories ❤️❤️ Thank you for fantastic video and can’t wait to see what next part has you getting into 🙋♀️🏴💖

I live in Scotland and think the same about Australia. My dream is to do the long journey from Perth to Brisbane in a camper van. Nearly 2700 miles. I’d leave Darwin and the interior for my next visit!
Glorious scenery in winter hues - so many beautiful shades of brown and grey contrasting beautifully with the blue sky and the white peaks. *The best* slow TV along a road I have driven many times, but not for 4 decades, so lovely memories. Steve, please do the same run again in summer when the heather is in bloom. Be wonderful to see the contrast! Enjoying all your videos. Thanks mate!
To answer your question in the title: I hope not. But the music was certainly very lovely. And it's wonderful that so many people - judging by the comments - seem to love it. I guess it's all in the eyes of the beholder. Relaxing video for sure, thanks!
I’m from Glasgow, and my dad always said that he didn’t need a passport, as, Scotland ( in the right conditions) really is a quite beautiful and welcoming place
@Andrew Mallen One year at a camping site just north of Fort William I met a guy from Orkney and every year he took his holidays in Scotland. I was also surprised to hear the only island he'd been on was where he lived, Orkney! Scotland is certainly a beautiful part of the country, particularly the NW coast where i've been many times. My only venture to the East coast caused much confusion as I couldn't understand their accent!!
That brought back a lot of memories from the seventies when I would ride my motorbike up to GlenCoe and beyond on camping weekends. Maybe when this current state of affairs has been resolved I will go back and travel the road again.
it's taken me 25 mins of writing and deleting to get this...we have 1 life and to really say you have lived,is to say you have seen any part of Scotland....what a amazing place ...

Steve, I don't get home very often but a wee video of the old railway path and viaduct leading up through the Falls of Dochart and Killing would melt this auld heart. Walk, drive, cycle.....you decide.
Don’t think you can choose one, spoilt for choice in highlands, road to the isles from fort William to malaig, major wades road on eastern bank of Loch Ness applecross pass and the road from durnoch through Lairg to Durness to name but few of many.I remember doing the latter and at one point it got very foggy for about ten miles no other cars just us and the snow poles to follow ,felt like one of those si-fi films where you are in a time warp and drive the road forever. Stunning views on LOTS of the smaller roads to be seen .top up when you can though cause you don’t see many fuel stations on them and the distances can catch you out, not so much with sat nav’s now (I did all my trips before mobiles and sat nav’s.I know old fart. Wonder how the ev brigade would do going from one side of the highland to the other on smallest roads you can find 😂
Wow, great to hear from someone who’s done that epic trip! Well done, I am genuinely sooo impressed - I remember seeing just the last bit of road into John ‘Groats and thinking I’d struggle just to do that bit!
@@steve-marsh We're coming back up in June on the motorcycles to do the Nc500 plus a lot more, so really looking forward to that. I've subbed to your channel so looking forward to watching a few more of yours. I'm on nights at the moment so may even get a vid or two in tonight 👍 That's assuming the public behave!! 😂
I first drove up here in the mid 80s, and wondered to myself "what happened to all the trees?" Now I hear there are plans afoot to re-wild vast areas of these barren highlands, so I hope I live long enough to see native forests begin to re-claim what was rightfully theirs.
You would also need to control the deer that eat the trees, especially young trees. You could do that by allowing hunting, or by reintroducing wolves. Both options would probably be controversial, but the trees won't survive long without protection.
No phone and tablet accessories shop in sight, no kebab chicken takeaway in sight, no building society in sight. Instead just gorgeous scenery as far as the eye can c 😀 👍
Travelled the North Coast 500 a few years back and found that there was very little, if any mobile network coverage.......sheer bliss and beauty for a week. 🥰
Thank you Steve for sharing this drive through Glen Coe , I’ve been suffering with depression this week and I’ve just done a virtual walk to this video , it’s really lifted my spirit, we missed our holiday to Scotland this year and this is a wonderful memory of this amazing place , thanks again 😌
Thank you. So many great and also a few poignant memories tied up with this road. I am so looking forward to travelling it again hopefully in October and this film has notched up the anticipation. It always comes up as the answer both my son and I give to the question; “Last tank of fuel on earth, one car to put it in and one road to travel on, which would it be? The car usually changes, the road choice never does! My late wife finally agreed to go to Scotland in 2002 simply to stop me begging her to go each holiday, She fell in love with it and in 2008 she chose to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary in January near Loch Tay and the day trip we took up the A82 to Glencoe and her response to seeing the Three Sisters covered in ice and mist became one of her favourite memories and now one of mine. Thanks for filming and posting this video Steve, superb,
Derrick, I am so glad to stir some wonderful memories for you, that's what it's all about! Love that question as well, you've really got me thinking :) Roll on October, I wish you all the best!
I done this route every year from January for over 20 years. Used to keep an eye on the snow and ice forecast before making the journey. Glencoe for a week then onto Aviemore for a week depending on winter climbing conditions. A serious accident put paid to my climbing but when my new self build camper is done there will be no stopping me. So desperate to break out the ice gear but just to visit your beautiful country is enough. All I can say is Aonach Eagach. One of my memorial winter days in full snow and ice conditions
Hello Steve! I've never realized how beautiful Scotland is until watching your video. Thank you for sharing with us, I am a new subscriber for sure. I am from America and now based in Quebec Canada. I look forward to new videos, cheers to you!
We drove this in June. Totally stunning. 8.58, we turned off here and went down into Glen Etive. Amazed at the beauty of the area. Heading through Glencoe in September on the way up to Skye. COVID has opened oué eyes to the what is on our doorstep (though still a bit of a hike from Leeds!} Scotland is just so incredible, and so vast. So much to see. Great video, thanks for sharing.

You picked a great day for this video. I make this trip regularly when I head south to Glasgow and this time of year just about every patch of ground suitable or lay-by has a campervan or 3 parked on it. A blight on a beautiful landscape, reminds me of fly tipped refrigerators. At around 15:12 you pass a house with a very dark recent history. Love your channel and am currently working through your back catalogue. Thanks for all your work
First drove that road in 1967 in my 14-year old Ford Popular and loved every minute. Have driven it many times since and it is still a gorgeous drive (one of many in NW Scotland).
This video got me hooked on your adventures, I can watch this over and over again, it breath taking . I'm determined to get up there and see this for myself in the next year. Its made me realise that time is passing me by and I need to see this beautiful country,. Thank you again.
Four years ago, I drove this road for the first time, but the weather was miserable, and I didn't notice (or really see) much of it. Three years ago, I drove it again, and was amazed at the views. A few days later, I hiked alongside it, on the West Highland Way, and was mesmerized by the sight of Buachaille Etive Mor. Promised myself I'd climb it. Two years ago, I drove it yet again, and this time climbed not only Curved Ridge on the Buachaille, but traversed the Aonach Eagach as well. Last year I had to cancel my Highlands trip... Hoping for 2022! What an incredible place! Thank you for sharing this video!!!

Making the turn from the A82 onto the single track road through Glen Etive was the best surprise of the day. Highland scenic treasure beginning to end. Thanks for sharing this excellent video of your visit, Steve. Health and peace!
I need to do that wee road as well Kevin! Cheers and all the best to you :)
Such a sad story, to think on all those years he missed out on :(
Hi Steve, I've watched this video before, but today it really moved me, I driven this road 3 times, on my way to Port Appin, then going on to the Isle of Lismore.
I totally agree! wow - that heat has been too much for this weary adventurer! :)
Just done it over the weekend for the first time as a Scotsman (bit embarrassed to admit that),
the weather was incredible.
Subscribing now.... ;-))
Thanks so much Bob! Welcome aboard!
yes, you do, there is just sooo much to see up here, so much.
knoydart is my favourite so far.
Beautiful, stunning, breath taking,I've traveled the world, but my ashes will be scattered in glen coe, loved that Steve
Thanks so much Douglas! 😊
Oh yes, wonderful. Also the road from Broadford to Elgol and the road through Glen Brittle, and all over Torridon.
Thanks so much!
Wow thanks so much!!! A bit blown away by your comment 😊
@@orlestone My Brother lives in Kendal so I know your pain.. I have driven through Scotland with my job as an HGV driver so I know the Beauty...... All these People desperate to get back to the Spanish beaches need to look closer to Home... :-))))
I have lol
We recently done this route purely on this video. You won’t be disappointed, it was almost spiritual being surrounded by overwhelming beauty 🏴
So pleased to hear it Joe! Awesome!
Thanks so much Carlos! Missing Seville 😥
You loved these mountains and we were thinking to visit seville 😃
What an extraordinary place! the scenic beauty is so tranquil and not to mention the relaxing music to go with it 👌 thanks for sharing ☺
Thanks so much!
Steve, thanks so much for this👍A wonderful end to the week. What a fabulous country 🏴
Cheers! Hope your weekend is going well 😊
I think I've watched this 5 or 6 times and am still gob smacked at the quality of the imagery. I did hitch hike this route in 1973 and really have a feel for the awestruckness, I experienced as a pedestrian. WOW Steve!
So peaceful and calming, just what my mind needed tonight, thank you Steve💞 what a beautiful part of this world.
Thanks Kara :) I’m so glad you liked it!
Steve, your videos always make me homesick for my homeland. There is nowhere else like it on the planet. Sadly, because of health issues, I will probably not be able to return. Your videos are great to see. Stuck in the USA.
Truly beautiful drive/ area. Nothing compares in the UK.
Such a good point, thanks! Hope all is good in wonderful California!
I remember driving this route as an eleven year old boy in 1971 with my father and mother (now deceased). Such beautiful memories came flooding back. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏.
Thanks so much for watching Simon!
I live in Glasgow and this is my favourite drive it is just awesome especially on a misty morning as the sun is breaking through.
I've driven this just after sunset with a filthy rainstorm moving up the glen and swallowing the tail lights ahead. It felt biblical. Whatever the weather, this road is a treat.
Ohhh that sounds amazing!
WE did this drive about 22 years ago, and the mountains are breathtaking. Loved driving around Scotland, especially around Skye.
Steve, what a happy memory. I've been on this road before and you are correct. It takes your breath away. Thank you! Well done! This is a keeper!
Awesome Anne! So glad you’ve experienced it too :)
Absolutely love watching this. It's wonderful. Thank you so much.
AMAZING. If you didn't know you'd not think it was in the U.K. Great choice of music superbly shot.
Thanks Michael - I always really struggle selecting music! Glad it worked 😊
That's stunningly pretty landscape indeed! Just the kind of relaxing video I needed after a crappy day!
So glad I could help 😊
You got a cracking day for that drive as well
Thank yo for this one!
You cant help but fall in love with that journey every single time
Buachaille Etive Mhor is such an iconic mountain... instantly recognizable! and the Glencoe with the 3 sisters on one side and Aonach Eagach on the other ... did you have time for a pint and a pie in the Clachaig?
Oh I wish 😊 a million reasons to return though! Cheers!
I stayed at the Clahaig Inn while doing the West Highland Way.The sign at the bar read "Due to unforeseen circumstances the following is no longer on the menu and there was a menu stuck to the notice...the unforeseen circumstances...the chef was pissed at the end of the bar.
I’ve been back to the Clachaig more than any other holiday destinations 24 years of mountain biking and ridge walking 👍
@@druss69harad61 I recall many many years ago (70 something) a Canadian couple came into the bar, and one of them asked for a "whisky w/blackcurrent cordial" - the then owner/barman replied " I'll no serve ye that..." and promptly left the bar and the couple! epic!

I was smiling watching this blog , has we've just returned from your beautiful country, and we drove down this road the most amazing views ever, it was our 1st visit to Scotland, it certainly won't be our last, already got a 28 day visit for next year 😊
Steve, that was pure magic. Thank you so much for showing the beauty of our Country. Heaven on Earth.

I want down this road 2 years ago to fort William and had tears in my eyes,it's emotional to say the least, absolutely brilliant.
Haha awesome comment, made me smile :) thanks Susan!
‘Tarn‘ !
No Tarns up there.
@@A2Z1Two3 In Colorado, they're tarns. What do you call them?
Great tip! Thank you!
Scotland oh! Scotland from my first time I miss thee so dearly, from the hills and valleys to the many streams that run so nicely, and Scotland oh! Scotland thank you so much.
The whole road from Loch Lomand to Inverness,is the best road in UK and that part thru Glencoe is the icing on the cake.

Haste ye back! Thanks so much Roger!
WOW - that was excellent and yet again what a fantastic music choice - perfect :) Well Done !! - I know where I'm heading in June :)
Haha awesome! Thanks so much 😊
To answer your question in the title: I hope not.
My dad said exactly the same 😊
I think you need to explore a bit, just sayin

Me too! I just HAD to record it on this beautiful day!
Scotland and Italia, the most Beautiful nations on Earth!!!
Nepal might be up there too!

It would be great to see! If the trees were there, it would look exactly the same as it was thousands of years ago!
You would also need to control the deer that eat the trees, especially young trees. You could do that by allowing hunting, or by reintroducing wolves. Both options would probably be controversial, but the trees won't survive long without protection.
Breathtakingly beautiful , everyone needs to drive through here or climb these mountains once in their lives.
No phone and tablet accessories shop in sight, no kebab chicken takeaway in sight, no building society in sight. Instead just gorgeous scenery as far as the eye can c 😀 👍
Well said

Cheers Bill! Aw the best!
I think so. The Lake District is magnificent, but the space here trumps that for me.
Lake District is stunning too, a close run thing!
The Lake District a softer landscape tops it for me but both beautiful
How wonderful, thank you very much! I drove this road into the other direction and loved to see it again.
Great times ahead! All the best!

Heading through Glencoe in September on the way up to Skye. COVID has opened oué eyes to the what is on our doorstep (though still a bit of a hike from Leeds!}
Scotland is just so incredible, and so vast. So much to see.

Nice one Eddie! When we tried to turn off, the Etive road was closed - next time :)
Thank you. I doubt I will ever do this in person but you have brought it to me. My first journey to Scottish highlands. I love the reflection of the tall hills in the mountain lake. Many happy travels ahead for you in 2024! I look forward to them!
An absolute pleasure to bring this to you :)
Thanks for all your work
what kind of history?
First drove that road in 1967 in my 14-year old Ford Popular and loved every minute. Have driven it many times since and it is still a gorgeous drive (one of many in NW Scotland).
Very cool! Love it :)
This video got me hooked on your adventures, I can watch this over and over again, it breath taking . I'm determined to get up there and see this for myself in the next year. Its made me realise that time is passing me by and I need to see this beautiful country,. Thank you again.
Thank you, one of my favourite roads to drive in the UK. You did it justice.
Great effort! Oh yes, I've driven that road before and seen literally NOTHING! :) I'm editing our walk up Buachaille today :)

And the Red Squirrel campsite in glencoe... Been visiting, walking and climbing in Glencoe for over 40 years. So many wonderful memories.. Thank you for sharing. When driving the road you can't really appreciate it all.. This was amazing to watch
Thanks so much! Editing another Glencoe vid today :)
Thanks for this video Steve, it's practically brought tears to my eyes reminiscing about driving home to Mull via the newly opened Ballachulish bridge and the Lochaline ferry.
