- The college football game between Alabama and Auburn had an absolutely as Alabama avoided a major upset on the road, defeating Auburn 24-22 in four overtimes. Alabama trailed 10-3 with about one minute left, but amazingly, Bryce Young led them on a 97 yard touchdown drive with no timeouts left to tie the score at 10-10 and force overtime. Then, each team scored a touchdown and field goal in the first two overtimes to make the score 20-20. In the third overtime each team converted their two point conversion to make it 2-22. Finally, in the fourth overtime Auburn failed to convert and Alabama did convert, giving them a hard fought 24-22 victory over Auburn on the road. With the win, Alabama keeps their playoff hopes alive and improves to 11-1.

The Iron Bowl is always a a high stakes game no matter the season record. Both teams could be 0 - 11 going into this game and it will still be high stakes. This game has bragging rights on the line.
Exactly! People from this state understand. A ton of Alabama haters online are saying Alabama doesn't deserve to be ranked in the top 4 but they have no clue what the iron bowl is like in this state. When players and coaches come to either one of these schools, the first thing they're told is "you better beat Bama" or "you better beat Auburn". Also, Jordan-Hare is a notoriously difficult place to play no matter the opponent, much less their most hated rival. When I say hate, I mean "HATE"! That's why Bama has always had issues playing at Auburn. Even last night they had to have the left guard watch until Bryce Young was set then signal for the center to snap the ball. None of them could hear anything! Sadly, casual fans have been told by sports media that Ohio State vs Michigan is the biggest rivalry in college football but that's false. The Iron Bowl is equal to and maybe even more heated than that. We commonly have people who get into some kind of physical altercation during or after that game from opposing fans who are typically friends, neighbors and even family every other day! I know, it's sad but true! lol

It's like that all over the country. Yes, the Michigan/Ohio State is as big a rivalry as there is in NCAA sports. And it goes beyond that.
I've seen families refuse to speak to each other when Duke and UNC get together and are ranked 1 and 2... _or neither could ranked at all._
The police had to come to my uncle's trailer 25 years ago "because of what Dale done to Rusty". They beat the crap out of each other. Texas vs Texas A&M, Clemson and South Carolina are told the same thing you mentioned about 0-11 and beating the other school. Tons of other schools do the same thing over an axe. An oaken bucket. A gold boot. A '100 miles of hate'. etc etc etc

I’m an Alabama fan and respect to auburn for giving us the iron bowl of a lifetime. But nothing felt better than feeling the life get sucked out of that stadium. My first iron bowl in person and I was not disappointed

The biggest mistake Auburn did was getting out of bounds in regulation. The second biggest one was not going for 2 to win the game because their qb was hurt.

If Auburn played every week with the intensity they bring in the Iron Bowl, they'd be in the playoff picture almost every year. Like Alabama. But instead they play most of the season with about 70% effort, losing several games they should win, then play Bama with 120% effort and think they've done something. Their emotion-based football is pure BS.
Everybody gets up for Alabama. It's not just Auburn!!! Literally every team play their hardest against Alabama because they're held to a higher standard. Auburn shouldn't fall in that category alone.

Alabama fan here…that was one of the best games Iv ever witnessed…I give Auburn props they laid it all on the line and it made for a classic game that will be talked about for a long time…both teams represented their schools very well and showed everybody why this is the best rivalry in all of sports

I hate that they're both going pro....but I understand. I've seen a lot of incredible Alabama running backs but Meetchie & Jameson were the best tandem in college football last season. Yes, I been following Brooks for a while, and hopefully Coach Saban uses him against Georgia this week. I know Saban traditionally doesn't like to depend on his young Freshmen players, but he needs to use these guys against a team like Georgia. That's so cool about him being your nephew, he will be playing on Sundays for sure.

I think auburn rb was trying to get the first down… it was great tackle by the defender. But its common for athletes to want to make the hero plays or ice the game play… sometimes one have to look at the smaller plays or make the high iq plays

I've been seeing a lot Auburn fans blaming Tank for going out of bounds. You can clearly see that he was trying to pick up the first but he got dragged out of bounds. There wasn't much he could do. Y'all is blind
It was 2nd down. Smarter play would be to go down before getting out of bounds regardless of whether it moved the sticks. They have a valid gripe.

Alabama had 388 total yards to Auburns 159...Auburn got away with alot of hands to the face penalties on offense and defense! This was not a classic... but Roll Tide anyway!
