The iron bowl is just different. You literally cannot write this script. You have to see a game like this to believe it. I'm an Alabama fan but I gotta admit playing at Jordan Hare stadium is not easy. You can say what you want about Auburn but at Jordan Hare stadium they are not going down without a fight. I'm a UGA fan and I fear Auburn every year, even if they're a mediocre 6-6 team, especially away. No stats can account for fierce rivalry + home field advantage
This is truly the greatest rivalry we have in college football now. All the penalties, turnovers and defensive breakdowns Alabama had today, they were able to find a way to win. That pass from Milroe to Bond was absolutely clutch. The SEC championship game with Georgia is the national championship game

Reminder that Jason Autrey was the ref who called the Bo Nix backwards "spike" against Arkansas 2020 not a fumble, called 2022 Kool-aid's game-sealing int against Utk pass interference 30 yards afterwards, and also fucked up Mizzou's play against LSU this year. He is so biased it's insane

Reminiscent of the Natl Champ game against Georgia in OT where Tua does a scramble drill but ends up getting sacked for like negative 15 yards and next play throws a dart to Devanta Smith. 2023 Iron Bowl: Milroe gets a bad snap and loses 10 plus yards and next play throws a pinpoint dart 🎯 to Isaiah Bond. I’m sitting at home thinking how can we lose to a non contention Auburn team and actually thought he threw it out of bounds but when Bond high pointed and came down with one foot inbounds….beer was thrown, insults were rampant and a whole lotta Tide was rolling in my household.
I would argue he got two feet down but watching them both live the Tua throw was insane and I lost my shit maybe cuz it was for a natty but this one just left me speechless like whoa did that seriously just happen
The Tide intercepted the ball on the last play of both halves of the game.
By the same player too, they decided not to give Bama the pick six in the end, they were saying that Auburn didn't get the play off in time, but they legit got it off with 1 second left

I can’t even describe the pure joy I felt rolling tides to the Auburn friends I was watching with. The way the game was going the shit talking was going back and forth but when Bond caught that td my beer flew out of my hand and the F you’s started rolling to anybody wearing orange and blue. People not from Alabama will never understand the atmosphere here on Iron Bowl Saturday.

You are allowed to go 3 yards beyond the original line of scrimmage.
Its only a penalty when they go downfield more than 3 yds and the center wasn't even a yard downfield.

Jordan-Hare Stadium is indeed a tough place to play, perhaps one of the toughest in the SEC. The only other notorious place would be Death Valley in Baton Rouge. How many times during our run did we have to survive to beat Auburn there the times we did?
2009 - 14-0 at the end of the 1st period, Auburn leads, ultimately, the "championship drive", where McElroy throws the touchdown pass to Roy Upchurch for the game winner.
2015 - Though Bama won by 16 points, Auburn played better than what that scoreboard shows, holding us to field goals multiple times.
2021 - Defensive battle in most of first half, before Auburn gets a touchdown before the end of the half. Alabama remains scoreless until the 4th quarter when Reichard kicked a field goal. Bryce Young finally throws a touchdown pass at the end to force overtime and it goes back and forth in quadruple overtime before Bryce finally hit Metchie to win 24-22.
2023 - Alabama strikes first with a 7-0 lead, but Auburn, as always, doesn't give up, as the game went back and forth, neck and neck the whole time, and Milroe throws a late touchdown pass on 4th down and 31, our last chance to win, as Bama wins 27-24.
So Auburn will fight tooth and nail whenever the game is played on their home field.
2011, Alabama blew out Auburn 42-14, at Jordan-Hare, but the circumstances were different. The Camback was the previous year and Alabama lost a heartbreaker via a blown lead. So Bama was fired up, and knew that was a must win for a rematch with LSU, so that played a role in the blowout.

The fact that Hugh birched about the officials in his post presser when every call went his way after the missed facemask proves he's meant to be at auburn.
Alabama should have won this game by three scores but had touchdowns taken off due to mistakes. Would have had a pick six at the end of the game but the runner stepped out of bounds.

As a Longhorn, I kinda questioned Saban benching Milroe after the Texas loss. After the game, I was like... that guy could be scary good. He was young and inexperienced but it seemed like he had massive upside potential. I figured it was just me being dumb, I mean Saban had to know way more than me. He has to be so frustrating for defenses because he just seems to always slip away.
Not sure what happened to our offense after the first two possessions, but thank God we pulled that out
