@chrisrindahl736 Always 7 discounted NCs. Always. 2023 CFP and the county agreed that a 2nd or 3rd string QB in the playoffs was not good football. LOL 2009 TX Freshman QB turned it over 5 times to give AL the game. Nobody believes that and the other 6 are legit.
When you see it from behind Tua, the stripe is looking right until the last second when he sights up on Devonta and "bombs away." Tua said it was his favorite play.
Ingram’s Heisman moment was when he drove down the field in the wildcat against South Carolina after our offense couldn’t get going all game. Put the team on his back. And Rocky Block will always be my #1.
Mettenberger is probably the toughest college quarterback I have seen play the game. In 60+ years I have seen quite a few. Bama beat the hell out him all night and he just kept coming back. He could barely stand up but he finished the game. 2nd and 26, D’vontae’s one handed catch against LSU and 4th and 31 are epic. ROLL TIDE!
And did you notice Dabo complaining to the ref that Alabama could NOT get the ball because Clemson had not touched it! Guess he knows the rule now. RTR!
The kicker's plant foot was offsides. But Saban knew it is rarely ever called. Go for it and if called, then kick deep. But the bottom line was, Saban planned to cheat. Clear and simple.
At every game. Saw every play. That 2012 GA game was so huge. Many others as well. Just wish we could have won these games: '13 Auburn, '17 Clemson, '22 Georgia. Three more nattys if we had.
@@Phantom24-w3c Which Clemson game? 2017? If Scarborough doesn't break his foot we probably win. I think we gave up on the run too early after that; I think RB Damian Harris was hacked off that we didn't run more. Hurts was not yet good enough to beat that team with his arm.
@@Phantom24-w3c Oh my...that one really hurts. Such a great offensive year and fairly solid defense, but it got out of hand somehow. It was a long time ago but we lost a natty game to Nebraska in 1971 38-6. RB Johnny Musso once told me had they played that great Nebraska team ten times Alabama would have likely won four of them. But a rash of turnovers and other mistakes took us out of it by halftime. That was such a great team too. Should have lost that one by ten at the most. If you play for enough years you are likely to have a few of those games on your resume. But it makes you wonder how such great teams suddenly fold when everything is on the line.

I'm just now noticing that this was about PLAYS, not games. The most memorable are easily Smith's catch vs GA, Rocky Block, and some of those on the video. But why stop with JUST the Saban era?? Here are a few of the biggest that I've witnessed in the 50 years I've been going. Does anyone remember some of these? 1) '72 Tenn> Terry Davis's 22 yd touchdown to cap a furious two minute, two TD comeback, 17-10. 2) '73 Tenn> Gary Rutledge's 80 yd TD pass to Wayne Wheeler on opening play. Also add Wilbur Jackson's late 80 yd TD run to seal the win. 3) '77 USC >> DE Wayne Hamilton's QB pressure on 2 point play that sealed upset of #1 ranked Trojans in Los Angeles. 4) '78 Penn State>> Goal line stand to win natty. 5) '79 Aub>> Steadman Shealy late TD to avoid upset, add another natty. 6) '81 Penn State> SEVEN STOPS inside 1 yd line (penalty gave Lions a 1st down on 3rd down play) to seal a 31-16 win at Happy Valley. 7) '85 Aub> Tiffin 52 yd winning FG in greatest game I ever saw. 8) '92 Fla> Langham INT and TD to win first SEC game. 9) '92 Miami> Teague's strip in natty game 10) '99 Fla> RB Alexander TD run in overtime to beat Gators 40-39 at Swamp. 11) 05 Fla> Opening 80+ yard TD pass that led to 31-3 thrashing of Gators. So many great clutch moments. Smith's catch, 4th and Milroe and 2nd and 26 will be my favorites.
None would've been possible without help from the refs and police department

5 is my favorite. I was with my Dad and sister running in place with Drake. I miss you Dad
I remember saying that no one on that team needed a play like that more than Drake did!
Yeah after breaking his leg the year before, coming back, breaking his arm that year, coming back again, Drake deserved that moment
Great list!
Great list, but I was expecting maybe some Reuben Foster/Mack Wilson hits in this too.
This list is fuckin SOLID!!!
