      The missing data points for S20 are cutoff max speed and the survivability of S20's suspension end in a high speed crash. You should add durability score for future wheels, since EUC are known to be a crash magnet. It is known, riders' experiences based on how many bones he broke not how many wheels he has. It is known! Perhaps, range score as well, after all, curious people always ask for top speed and range for ever electric mobility!

    "Like and subscribe and we will be BFF Forever" that's "Best Friends Forever Forever" lol.
    Keep up the good work! As future S20 owner (I pre ordered) and first time rider it's nice to see some positive videos. There are more then enough critics of ALL wheels that as a new rider shopping for a wheel you don't want to buy ANYTHING based on all the bad press most EUC channels give! Don't get me wrong all the things wrong with each EUC are necessary and needed. However, there also seems to be an "overfixation" on all the flaws of every wheel and it is a huge part of EUC culture. At least until that unicorn of a wheel appears one day.
    Thanks again for the positive vids!

    The S20 seems very polarizing. People either love it or hate it. There are plenty of biased people out there who hate Kingsong (*cough* wrongway *cough*), or Gotway, or whatever, but Hsiang doesn't strike me as one of them. Personally, I think it looks sick, has plenty of range and speed for me, and I can't wait to get mine.

    • @enlightened1ne
      @enlightened1ne 2 года назад +2

      I’m not sure that Adam hates KS, since he’s published positive reviews of other KS wheels. He had mixed things to say about the S20, though I would agree largely negative. I found it interesting that Hsiang wasn’t bothered by the tire design or the pedal dipping on the S20. After seeing some of the other videos I would have been scared to push it that fast in live traffic!

    • @BunnyslippersEUC
      @BunnyslippersEUC 2 года назад +4

      Adam WrongWay doesn't hate Kingsong, but his review does feel rushed. I met him in Amsterdam last year. I asked him which wheel he wanted to review. And he said S20.
      The power of the S20, is that it is highly configurable. WrongWay discovered this also. The suspension can be moved, the footplates can be moved up/down front/back. Flat sides for different pads etc.
      We still have only seen the preproduction S20, which is build much cheaper than a proper production model.

    • @OWGAC
      @OWGAC  2 года назад +7

      I think Adam's concern is legit but at the same time there weren't anything I'd consider "really bad" which would be safety problems like cutout or difficult to fix things like a rusty bearing. A broken plastic handle is just about the easiest thing to fix actually

    • @enlightened1ne
      @enlightened1ne 2 года назад +1

      That’s good to know. It looks like a lot of fun to ride, and having a performance wheel with suspension is a game changer for riding on city streets, since you can keep up with traffic without dying to potholes.

    • @sharkyclear
      @sharkyclear 2 года назад

      I don't think Adam is a Kingsong hater, maybe if you said a Gotway hater, some might consider it, at least for me, because of a statement he made in one video, wherein he said that he's going to delete some of his Gotway videos he made. I never really checked if he did delete some videos though. Anyways, I think it was a fair review he made.
      Also, even though I don't agree with Haisang's verdict on this particular video, I also think it's fair. When reviewing these wheels, there will always be some amount of subjectivity, and the difference of great reviews, such as this one, is when the recviewer doesn't allow himself to be blinded with his/her own subjective view of the wheel.

  • @nicksilver3757
    @nicksilver3757 2 года назад +13

    Great video and content as always! But I disagree with this comparison. There's no such thing as an all around "better" wheel, it depends on what you're looking for. If you ride off road or prioritize comfort over range in your riding then the S20 is a better choice, hands down. But if you're like some of us who use their wheel as a primary mode of transportation, to ride all day running errands or travel long distances when needed, all while keeping up with 30-45 mph traffic... the S20 doesn't even compare to the Sherman. The S20 can hit 43mph but only for short distances. After that it seems you start getting seriously throttled back and the wheel starts beeping at anything above 30mph, which makes keeping up with traffic difficult and downright dangerous.
    I'm no KS hater, I have an S20 on preorder for now, but would never think of replacing my Sherman with one, that's just silly. The S20 is a fun, comfortable ride and an awesome off-road machine that can do high performance in short bursts. But its still a toy in terms of its short range, short-lived performance, & poor durability. The VS is a leap closer to being a legitimate vehicle, with long range, sustained high performance, and a much more robust build, at the cost of suspension.

    • @OWGAC
      @OWGAC  2 года назад +9

      I think I did say that if you need long range wheel the Sherman comes out ahead but this is mostly a comparison for short range performance. I mostly use the Sherman as a comparison here because it is the gold standard when it comes to speed.

      Durability? Only if you stay on the streets. I wanted to buy a Sherman before but I canceled my order just in time after I saw 5 of them died at overheat hill because of the mud. Mud twigs and small pebbles is it’s Kryptonite. I saw 2 of them died on a piece of twig. I won’t trust it trail riding alone in a forest, you won’t be able to carry it out if it dies. It’s not an off-road wheel as they wanted you to think because it comes with an off-road tire. I just wanted something that can do anything including turning heads and for that reason the S20 wins.

      @@oryxone-c3o I agree but I will not be buying a non suspension wheel again after I had a bad accident after hitting a pothole and definitely not a Sherman it has very little clearance on the upper part of the wheel, anything could jam it. I have seen it to many times don’t try to push it or dolly it to take out whatever is jamming it. It will overheat very fast and fry your motherboard. Range would not be an issue for me on the S20 because I’m only 130 lbs. I can do almost 60 miles on my S18. I can probably do more than 90 miles on the S20 easily and that’s more than enough for me.

    • @manuelsanudoguerreira7319
      @manuelsanudoguerreira7319 2 года назад +3

      @@MV-ld4wl I find hard to believe such carnage on Shermans... The Sherman goes through twigs like a shark would go through sardines... Mine munches and crushes them to splinters and go through pebbles without further problem despite the low clearance between the tire and the very machine. I've done some off-road myself so I can tell... You would only find trouble attacking a steep hill on a Sherman at a low speed. Nevertheless I think the Sherman wasn't specifically designed for that but it is a EUC that will take you almost anywhere when the tarmac is gone. That is one thing very different from ridiing it on a muddy hell. I insist it wasn't designed for that and an s20 will always do better.The risk of frying the motherboard is always there, all you have to do is to avoid that specific situation. The Sherman was designed for a sustained high speed not for hardcore climbing or off-road although it can deal with this terrains pretty, pretty good. But it is not for that,hence the low clearance of the pedals. Otherwise it's a perfect machine for just about anything you can throw at it. The s20 seems to be a very attractive product too but it's certainly a different approach, and taking account that the s20 wheel has been designed for a real punishment that we still don't know if it can properly without being destroyed... I don't think there is a better wheel so far, these two cover two different spectrums. Both combined are probably the dream team. Although suspension is the real lack of the Sherman I would never trade mine just for that. The perfect wheel would be a Sherman with some little suspension and better clearance in both aspects , tire and pedals. Let's dream a little longer... But after all it is like dreaming of a Ferrari you could savagely offroad with.😍

    Fantastic work as always, Hsiang! Even though I notice you are running the Sherman this time with a street tire, do you have any quick thoughts comparing the S20 knobby tire against the Sherman’s knobby Kenda? In particular, I’ve heard that turning/carving can be a bit trickier on the S20 due to its more dramatic tread roll off on the sides. Thanks as always for sharing your knowledge and making our EUC community even better!

      Keep in mind that I ride a monster v3 with similar sqarish tire profile and the z10 which is a wheel that according to some is notoriously difficult to turn, but to me I had zero issues with turning, even at higher speed. Now I don't do 30mph turns since in an urban setting you slow down just to be safe so not sure how it would do on a racetrack

EUCs put the most effort into the tire under hard braking... going forward, EUCs are not hard on tires. Generally, the direction of a tire is due to the overlap of the layers in the carcass... I wish these videos were not about speed all the time. IMO it defeats the purpose. an EUC is meant to be a combination of small, light, compact, and agile with acceptable range, speed, and terrain capabilities. I would not want to load an extra 50lb item in my plane, use up extra space on a sail boat, or wheel something the size of a moped into the grocery store. Not long and some legislator will notice this and want to ban or restrict them. Still like the vid and like the speed, I just pointed out something to be wary of.

    As I'm just at the beginning of the video, I'm hoping that you compared the GPS-corrected speeds!
    Your MC/scooter street tire on the Sherman will typically need -8% correction for speed and distance (or even more, that one looks pretty low profile)
    S20 stock: don't know yet.
    Okay, will watch now 😀
    Edit: no GPS correction. The real speed of the Sherman was likely lower than S20 in this comparison since it needs between -8 and -10 speed correction with the tire used.

      @supercurioTube 2 года назад

      @@OWGAC yes if you recorded a tour, then by averaging a bunch of values from a section of fairly constant speed you can get a good estimate of the correction needed.
      On Sherman I needed -8% with a Michelin City Pro 80/90-14, and 6% on the CST-C6004 street tire now (same as stock knobby)

      I'm waiting to see what flaws the Master has. Everybody is getting butthurt about a lot of minor issues found on the S20 demo wheels and acting like the Master is going to be flawless. Master will have only 1 thing going for it...a short but exhilarating rocket ride, then recharge. But what flaws will it have? What safety features will it have? Litech support is a good start, but many of the standard Gotway safety and QC concerns are still likely going to be present in the Master.

    • @UnidudeNine
      @UnidudeNine 2 года назад

      s20 and Master specs are awfully similar. I think the huge difference is how much they are allowed to draw from the battery. The more you let through, the higher the stress is on the battery. KS might be trying to make a longer lasting safer product. That's my theory anyways.

    Wonderful review! Your urban riding skills are Ducati
    I just have a few observations on the emphasis of:
    “‘“
    Outside of extremely limited circumstances in the Sherman’s time period to offer the pinochle of cruise…
    that is because you don’t have the confidence to stomp on the Sherman’s software? Or Hardware? It’s a interesting question perhaps
    I wonder if you don’t trust yourself with the Sherman? Does the Sherman give a vibe or could there be a tire choice that sufficiently mitigates the stability questions within surface changes
    Trust… hmmm
    So the s20 iteration of technology and suspension own or continue to earn your Trust?
    Reliability was definitely covered in sugar with the high performance clips
    That’s a bitter ploy to divert interest on the reliability department ~ the suspension Sherman will logically harness the reliability of the Sherman having learned from the Sherman Max platform
    Perhaps add some suspension and huge power to the suspension Sherman and the Sherman original is never beaten for original cruiser feel
    I would love to ask anyone if they are thinking this is a rematch when it’s the suspension Sherman vs. S22/3
