Can you use this remote as a substitute for your keyless fob? If I'm gonna be carrying around a mini cell phone, I don't wanna have to keychain link it up to my factory fob.
The proximity unlock is the same as the unlock button on the remote. By default, it unlocks all doors. Driver's door priority unlock can be set up to only unlock the driver's door. On some vehicles this takes extra parts and/or labor. Contact your dealer for details.
Question for anyone that might have experience. Just went to get one installed and was excited about until he told me I’d still have to carry my Dodge fob with the alarm/Autostart fob. Great question! FULL mode is only useful when you have the alarm features installed. When the remote is in FULL mode, the remote is always "on" and searching/listening for a signal from the Compustar controller (which is installed in the vehicle). When the remote is in HALF mode, the remote control stops searching/listening for a signal from the controller after about 45 minutes. You can consider it "sleeping" at that time. If you only have a remote start and NOT any alarm features, I highly suggest having the remote in HALF mode since the only time the remote needs to receive a signal is during and shortly after a remote start sequence. Great stuff, Thanks for sharing, Can I use these remotes for another car I plan to by on an Island? I plan to remotely start the car from NYC to the Island the car will be at. So all I would have to do is buy a Starter Kit "Brain", Horn Kit with Sensor, Wiring Kit and X1 Drone? Is that all I would need? Also Will the second X1 Drone that I put on the car on the island Require a new subscription?
The remotes can be programed to multiple vehicles though I would suggest using the 2nd car mode on the T13 if there is any chance the vehicles are within range of each other at any time ever. Yes, each Drone module needs a subscription to function. Enjoy!
Technically yes you can but your not going to get any support from compustar unless you're an authorized dealer. So if you run into an issue that you can't figure out. Your pretty much up the creek without a paddle.
So if you walk past your car, it unlocks. That's ONLY good if it locks again when you walk away. Did you remember to lock your car? Oh but did you _walk past it_ since you locked it? I can see this leading to many accidental un-lockings.
Simple to resolve. You can add a feature called Auto Relock. Your local Authorized Compustar Pro Dealer will be able to help you out. You can also turn off/on the proximity unlock from either remote.

CONFUSED: How is the remote such high resistant to water (even dunking into a bucket of water) when the USB port is COMPUTER OPEN to not only dust but of course water. ???
It's an IPX-7 rated device. Sorry I'm not privy to the engineering design specs but that's an international standard used for Ingress Protection. My phone is also water resistant rated and I've snorkeled in the ocean with it taking photos and video without an external case. Of course I thoroughly rinsed it off after use to get the salt off of it and continued to use the phone for years after that. I would not recommend using it consistently in the manner! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_Code has some more info for you.
No. That is max range. Any objects or interference between the remote transmitter and the vehicle can reduce the range. It's impossible to rate something *inside* of a building as all buildings are different. As such, all manufacturers rate them in open territory. With that said, these are the most powerful systems in the marketplace and we have never tested a Compustar to have less than the advertised max range in open territory and a number of them over the years have tested at MUCH greater than advertised. Enjoy!
Thanks for the demo! Most definitely a game changer. We also got the protective silicone covers for these coming soon.

@@SweetSounds nice! I have the FT-7000AS(CM7000) controller, so it seems a R5 kit (w/ ANT-TWSF) would work. Will those ever be available for purchase to have shipped, or only with installation?
@@ThomMurphy Only with install. The 7000 will need to be updated also. Visit your local Compustar Pro series dealer for help.
Will proximity unlock work just for the driver door or will unlock all the doors?
It will unlock the same as if pressing the unlock button on the remote or Drone app. Usually that is set up to unlock all doors by default but can be set to unlock only the driver's door. This often involves additional cost though.
Can you run the t 13 on a 1978 impala ????
If you're asking about for security purposes, Yes, it will work great. For remote start, without a fuel injected engine it will be difficult.
@@SweetSounds yea remote start.
What is the Starting price for the pro T13 ?
$574 without installation
Are you able to change the countdown time for the remote start? How long the car will run?
Yes.
Hi can I just upgrade from t9 prime to t13 pro by just buying the remote and the antenna or do I have to replace everything on my compustar hardware, im using the old hardware CM-DC3 with das-2 alarm kit. Looking forward to your reply thank you very much.
There is a more in depth answer previously but yes, you can, as long as the DC3 is updated.
@@SweetSounds now the problem is how to order the remote and the antena because I think they exclusively sell it to installers only.
@@learnbasic2197 I'd recommend visiting an authorized dealer who can both offer the new unit and update the existing control module. www.compustar.com/find-a-dealer/ Be sure to click the PRO dealer only box.
Do you think the proximity sensor on the T13 will work perfectly on a 2010 Hyundai Elantra GLS in your opinion? Any thoughts?
Haven't found a car yet where the proximity doesn't work well.
Will the T13 remote work with the T12 system?
It will partially work but not all the features, such as proximity unlock, will function. Full functionality requires the matching antenna and likely an update to your controller.
How do you pop your trunk?
It has been asked previously but with the T13, press and hold the "unlock" button for 3 seconds. No trunk release on the R5 without some customization from your installer. Enjoy!
Do I need to upgrade the antenna if I have the 2wt10r-ss two way remote? Or can I just buy the the upgraded remote?
If you want all the features to work you need to buy the entire RF kit and have the controller updated also.
Enjoy!
Will I have to have the original remote too or just this one to use?
That depends upon the vehicle
Hi, i have a vw amarok 2019 tdi 4 cil wich model can i install it? Thanks
Technically yes you can but your not going to get any support from compustar unless you're an authorized dealer. So if you run into an issue that you can't figure out. Your pretty much up the creek without a paddle.
Can't imagine what extra keys on key ring would do to a shiny lcd screen..scratches from Hell.
Would this work in the UK.
I have install 1 way remote start can upgrade 2 way remote
So if you walk past your car, it unlocks. That's ONLY good if it locks again when you walk away. Did you remember to lock your car? Oh but did you _walk past it_ since you locked it? I can see this leading to many accidental un-lockings.
Simple to resolve. You can add a feature called Auto Relock. Your local Authorized Compustar Pro Dealer will be able to help you out. You can also turn off/on the proximity unlock from either remote.
looks like when you use remote start, it will also unlock your car..... right? if i use remote start, i dont want my car unlocked..
This is incorrect.
@@SweetSounds thanks for the fast response,, im sold on this product. was a long time viper user,,, but its always good to try other alarms out there.. thank you..
Hi what’s the price for the T13 Thanks 🙏🏽
Would you be able to help me out with getting updated firmware/software for my op500?
I keep reading 2 and 3 mile range but is that anywhere even inside buildings with multiple levels thats within range?
Enjoy!
Just to be clear, you can turn off the proximity unlock feature? And 2. can it do proximity lock or just unlock?
Yes, via the remote. Both with the most recent update and hardware.
