That key fob is a good concept ✊🏾 However, it’s too big not to include an auto-start feature, a locator feature connected to your phone, a feature to lock out anyone from using it without you knowing or even a feature to stop anyone from changing the settings. What do you think, Alex? Have you been able to find a key fob like that in your search.
Hi Michael! it's size is almost identical to the BMW LCD key you get with the 7 series, it actually looks like a straight copy of it lol but I also think the size is mostly limited by the need for the new key fob to fit your old key circuit board inside and the size of the touchscreen itself. But man I do really like the ideas you propose, I can see them adding a pin code or some other locking way via the next firmware update, that definitely could be done. Even the autostart (it's no fun to install, it was so frustrating when I installed one I swore I would never done one again lol) could be done like an add on for those that want the additional option. I think if enough people request this from FitcamX it could happen. Thanks for watching and commenting bud!

Yea but you have to press unlock on your fob for the doors but this wouldn't help there either would it. I guess this is a product for those that need it.
@@rueben44 Hi RayJ-HT! if you use the included Bluetooth adapter, you can enable the comfort feature which is when the key fob locks and unlocks the doors automatically for you (without having to press the unlock or lock button on the fob). Hi Abel! check out the this link amzn.to/3giyFrj they have a very nice video showing the soldering process. @@AlexAutoFun Hey just a quick question, can I (with the right DIY kit) use this to autostart a fire truck when we got in? Note fire trucks do not have keys they (usually) have push buttons with a backup power switch.
@@christopherhowson7383 Hi Christopher! if they sell a kit to autostart fire trucks remotely then yes this smart key fob could potentially take that remote (assuming it fits inside the case) and active the remote start switch for you. That being said, based on what I saw in the mfg industry of fire related devices, I probably would not recommend it for life critical applications where on demand performance is required, typical devices used in this application have several redundancies and require long development times to ensure they always function (cost goes up as well). Now if it's a Fire Truck used for parades and other non emergency services, yeah but go for it, that would probably make a really cool video too, seeing a Fire Truck start remotely! Hope that makes sense and thanks for watching!

Hi Michael! I can definitely see them adding this on the future or selling a upgraded version of it since it would add cost to the FOB, kind of like an iPhone be neat to track it, they could probably start with Bluetooth just to be able to locate in your own house (I'm always misplacing my key! I do have several RGB lighting videos here is one ruclips.net/video/vWKoJN38-Ro/видео.html and I have underglows kits coming to, stay tuned, Cheers Bud!
Hi Brad! It would be the reverse of the install, so instead of soldering wires, the wires would be de-soldered (easier than soldering) well and that assumes that you save all the original pieces of your OEM key. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Hi Jose! Yeah I always get asked about the Hudway drive when people when on the car, and when I tell them it's a heads up display they still don't get it until I have them sit on the driver's side and they go OHHH AHH very cool LOL
Hi TheBadBone23! Unfortunately nope. Remember the doors locks are controlled by the smart remote not the Bluetooth adapter (the adapter is just to let the keyfob know how far away you are from the car, it does not control the car directly). However I do think an App would be neat! but the main issue would be that the transmitter on key fobs operates in a different frequency that a smartphone can't produce. I see that there’s 4 wires to connect, what if you have 5 buttons (Lock, unlock, remote start, trunk, and panic). Also, my button has membranes, not switches. So is it still possible to solder?
Hi L! Yes if your KeyFob has more buttons that what the LCD keyfob has, then you will have to choose which are the most important to your for the installer to connect. Regarding switches, remember the LCD fob does not need to use switches or membranes, the wires for the connections are soldered to the PCB (usually to a land or trace) Cheers!
Hi aldo! yeah hopefully in the future car manufacturers can create remotes that can be easily upgraded for those that want the extra bling.. Zapata.. I like that haha!
Hi ecb116! You would still need to carry your physical key blade, this remote only replaces the remote itself not the key blade itself. However remote start can be added to the car using a kit like this one amzn.to/2Z12Xsr The contents of the remote start key would then be transferred to the LCD key fob that way you won't have to carry two key fobs. Hope this helps and thanks for watching bud!
Hi Basit! yeah I really like mine but I have to agree with you, taking apart your existing key is not for everyone. I know there are plenty of hands on people out there (btw I do have a video series on how to solder) and I had some viewers with no experience have soldered theirs but I really think the way to do this (unless you have experience soldering) is to take it to a professional to have it upgraded. I heard some dash cam installers are doing this now too which I think it makes sense since sometimes they do all like stereo installs, alarms etc..

Hi KAE Official! LOL yes I noticed that too, both the size and design look almost identical, I may borrow a BMW key just so I can show them side by side, stay tuned and thanks for watching bud!
Muchas gracias. Excelente video muy explicado
Denada Alexis! Me da gusto escuchar que ayudo, Saludos desde California!
Great video! Just wish the background music in this vid didn't have all the little clicking sounds. It confused me because when you were pressing the buttons on the remote I couldn't tell if the music clicking noises was part of the sound of the remote as you pressed the buttons.
Thank you Nick! and sorry about that! I actually just noticed that when you pointed it out, will keep an eye out for this on future videos..
@@AlexAutoFun It's good! and you have a new sub, thanks
@@nick9463 Awesome! welcome aboard Nick! 🍻
" sorry man i cant go tonight, my mf key fob charging "
all in all its a really good concept and maybe one day those will come standard with cars
LOL! Yeah I think LCD touchscreen remotes are definitely not for everyone. When BMW introduced this style of Key Fobs with their 7 Series, many people loved it while others choose to get a standard key fob. I think this is only for those looking for an LCD touchscreen or looking to add the comfort door lock & unlock system since some cars do not come with the auto door opener/locker feature. Well and for folks like me who like gadgets or want to have a Supercar type key fob while I drive my Corolla LOL Cheers Ziggy Z!
Wow this is amazing, thanks for taking the time to share the knowledge and gadgets! -BeemerBoy
Thank you David! I appreciate that bud!
Thats seems pretty cool.
Could you do a video with the soldering and go in deeper into the functions and possibilities of this remote?
I have a 2011 F450 would it work on my truck?
Thanks
"Push start engine" car key will fits
Hi Abel! check out the this link amzn.to/3giyFrj they have a very nice video showing the soldering process. It basically involves soldering wires to the existing buttons on your remote (it's universal so it should work with your Ford key fob). But I think I will work on a soldering video by itself from scratch showing how it's does if it helps! stay tuned and thanks for watching bud!
With that kind of technology, it'd be nice to see a USB-C charging port. USB-B is becoming obsolete
Hi Daniel! yeah I wouldn't be surprised if we eventually see it get an USB C port but at same time I feel like some manufacturer are taking their time transitioning, just bought a brand new Sony ZV-1 and is also still rocking a Micro USB port ugh LOL
Bro you blink faster than you talk, thats crazy! Thanks cool gadget
lol!
that is the nicest mustache i have ever seen in my life.
Thank you Hiram! I really appreciate that my friend!
Forget the "cool accessories" I want one of them mustaches!
Thank you Lorenzo! I appreciate that bud!
Nice vid Alex! Pretty dope tech too! Do you know if this key fob has like gps so it can sync with an app to track in case you lose it?
Thanks Fujibo Heavy! yeah it a pretty cool gadget, I carry mine in a soft fabric pouch because I like the finish on it so much I don't want to scratch it LOL But regarding GPS, no I does not have it, I can definitely see them adding this on the future or selling a upgraded version of it since it would add cost to the FOB but man that is a good idea!
Hi Michael! I can definitely see them adding this on the future or selling a upgraded version of it since it would add cost to the FOB, kind of like an iPhone be neat to track it, they could probably start with Bluetooth just to be able to locate in your own house (I'm always misplacing my key! LOL)..
Another great video!
Thank you Guillaume!
Subscribing for the charisma, and most importantly the dapper mustache

Next week can you please test the fender vents from AutoZone? Or body kits on pickup trucks?
Hi Matthew! I haven't done body modifications videos yet (aside from the mud flaps videos) trying to focus on gadgets but I will certainly look into them if there is enough interest and it could be done. I do have several RGB lighting videos here is one ruclips.net/video/vWKoJN38-Ro/видео.html and I have underglows kits coming to, stay tuned, Cheers Bud!

I actually never realized that, cool find Rich! Cheers!
Rocky and Bullwinkle mustache!
😁
It's a cool key but I have a question what if you want to go back to your original key and you already move the internal to that new cool key.
Hi Brad! It would be the reverse of the install, so instead of soldering wires, the wires would be de-soldered (easier than soldering) well and that assumes that you save all the original pieces of your OEM key. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
I was interested in this bud I thought it was a lil cheaper. For the price I'd rather get the Hubway drive. That thing looks legit!
Hi Jose! Yeah I always get asked about the Hudway drive when people when on the car, and when I tell them it's a heads up display they still don't get it until I have them sit on the driver's side and they go OHHH AHH very cool LOL
This is sick but HOLY CRAP your moustache is awesome.

Why does he keep blinking.? Did the stash get in his eye? Lol
Definitely something I haven't seen in a while 👨👍🏼
Hi Adrian! LOL that may be why! I didn't think about that 😁 honestly I think I need some visine!
Wouldn't be possible to use the Bluetooth adapter with a phone app to do the exact same thing?
Hi TheBadBone23! Unfortunately nope. Remember the doors locks are controlled by the smart remote not the Bluetooth adapter (the adapter is just to let the keyfob know how far away you are from the car, it does not control the car directly). However I do think an App would be neat! but the main issue would be that the transmitter on key fobs operates in a different frequency that a smartphone can't produce. Some cars like Tesla and the new Mustang Mach-E got smart, they use Bluetooth in combination with RFID instead of the normal frequency used by key fobs to operate the car. On those cars you can use your phone as the key to operate the car, which I think is pretty awesome! Hope that makes sense and thanks for watching!
Found you channel by accident, glad I did

It's nice but bulky. My 2021 Toyota Sequoia can start, unlock, lock, and read driving habits, etc off my phone. I like the video btw
Hi Palomar Family Adventures! and thank you! yeah it's size is almost identical to the BMW LCD key you get with the 7 series, it actually looks like a straight copy of it lol but I also think the size is mostly limited by the need for the new key fob to fit your old key circuit board inside and the size of the touchscreen itself. But I wouldn't doubt it will continue to get small like all technologies do. But that is pretty cool that your remote can do all that! I had heard Toyota was adding something like that so it's good to hear it works well. Hope that makes sense and thanks for watching bud!
Eating ribs, black Friday morning. Just stumbled on this video 🤘 what a beauty.
Thank you Max! Enjoy your ribs! (now I'm hungry LOL!)
The key fob looks very cool. Does this key fob only work on cars that have the push to start feature?
Hi Joshua! yeah it's pretty neat, it works with regular turn key cars also. And if you wanted to add remote start later, it could be added done using a kit like this one amzn.to/2Z12Xsr The contents of the remote start key would then be transferred to the LCD key fob that way you won't have to carry two key fobs. Hope this helps, Cheers!
It looks like a PC mouse… I wonder if it can be programmed to actually be one? Right shape, size, screen. Just as a fun bonus for your passenger’s laptop or A/V dash controller?

Congratulations for your channel and for the detailed presentations you make, I want to ask you in the package that the key comes with detailed connection instructions because in my country I don't think there is an electronic person who knows the wiring, again congratulations and thank you in advance.
Thank you Νεκτάριος Μπερτακης! Ah yes it does come with instructions for the upgrade process. Hope this helps, Cheers!
That thing is HUGE!
Hi Flip or Flop Slots! it's size is near identical to the BMW LCD key you get with the 7 series, it actually looks like a straight copy of it lol but I also think the size is mostly limited by the need for the new key fob to fit your old key circuit board inside and the size of the touchscreen itself. But I wouldn't doubt it will continue to get small like all technologies do. Hope that makes sense and thanks for watching bud!

Thanks @jasonhwu21!
@@AlexAutoFun ahh I see, thank you. I really have to put notifications on cause I didn’t see it until now, sorry for the late reply.
@lopeiaran3422 No worries, you're welcome Bud!
Hey zapata it will be nice with out welding . Just plug and play.
Hi aldo! yeah hopefully in the future car manufacturers can create remotes that can be easily upgraded for those that want the extra bling.. Zapata.. I like that haha!
What you do when you need to start the engine with the actual metal key in the ignition?
Yea
Cool key but it's really difficult to configure. If messed up it will damage the original key. So it's not for everyone I guess
Hi Basit! yeah I really like mine but I have to agree with you, taking apart your existing key is not for everyone.
@@AlexAutoFun Thanks. I'll definitely refer that too. I might be able to transform my key into this. But currently it's not available at given link. Could you pls tell me how much that key cost you?
@@BasitAbbasi Thanks for the heads up, I have update the link, it's in stock again. Please try it again..
