11:14 "Ughck" I haven't heard that word in forever. I'm going to start using it again. Also I appreciate your calm voice. I don't spend a lot of time learning about cars but I'm listening regardless 😂

Great video and explanation. I'll be 60 years old in a few months and started working on cars in my Dad's shop at 13. This is why, even though I haven't made my living working on cars since my early 20's, I don't let anyone else touch my cars! Unfortunately, there seem to be more shops that do the kind of shoddy work you show here than true professionals like your shop. Even more unfortunate is that most customer don't have enough knowledge to know when they are getting taken advantage of...

Well thank you very much for this video. No need to apologize for the video being long because it was warranted. My vehicle was recently vandalized and I had a factory alarm on it. Never worked because the person who vandalized it never opened the doors. Only broke the window, climbed in to see what they could steal and climbed out. Now that I’m in the process of choosing a reputable Installation place for my new alarm, this video is very helpful and informative ! Thanks again for it !

Dealer alarms are a ripp off, they should be sue for charging extra for their useless security system

In my opinion whether you spend $400 or $2000 its hard earned money and you should receive quality work.

Had a CompuStar remote start installed by SweetSounds years ago in our 2010 Toyota Sienna. At 210K miles, the many things are getting old but the remote start works every time.

Does compustar offer a guarantee from a certified installer? The product is only as good as the installer. I find it very difficult to trust anyone cutting into a factory harness. I know I could do a working install myself but would love to have a top notch installer that can put those finishing touches that comes from doing hundreds of installs.

Compustar, which is made by Firstech, has a great warranty policy and you can see the details here: www.compustar.com/warranty/ In addition, most installation shops have their own warranty. I suggest looking for a Compustar PRO series dealer here: www.compustar.com/find-a-dealer/ (click on the PRO button).

Try Fortin. If they make a kit for your car then install is a breeze.

@@SweetSounds I've checked the link for Compustar/find-a-dealer, but I'm still weary as to finding someone as professional/thorough as you and your team. Would you happen to have a friend/reputable installer in NYC Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT). I really appreciate your video, and thank you so much for your time

Make sure to do a complete research and read the one-star reviews, I bought a compustart system alarm, at a place called "Covina Sound" here in West Covina California, they did a horrible job where the alarm never worked properly, someone broke into my car and the alarm system never work, they are very unprofessional just like the people that screw up this lady's car, I thought compustart was a bad product but after watching this video, now I know the installer did not know what the hell he was doing when he install the alarm system.

I am SO happy to have seen this review. I was looking for installers and they came up. I was scheduled with them even though they were priced higher than competitors. I saw other reviews about tint but not about installs. They also had low reviews.

I have been doing automotive key cutting and programming down in Georgia for the last 17 years and i do not think that I have ever seen an aftermarket remote start system or dealership starter disable installed the right way. It is very sad to say but it is true. I would say that more than %90 of aftermarket alarms and remote start systems sold are installed the wrong way.

In 2020 I got the Compustar pro T12. Got all sort of problems and couldn't get more than 430 meters (1500 feet) out of the 5 kilometers (3 miles) promessed. that is wether in the city or out of the city. The guy told me that he changed the module but all the problems remaind. Me I think he istalled a defective hoping I wouldn't notice it and I'm sure that he did not really changed the module too. This thing has mood swings. I never know when it going to work or stop working. Unfurtunately, at the time, there was only one place arround Montreal. I went so many time to try to get it fix, every time he had to reprogram it. Now he avoid me by not answering my calls or my SMS since last summer. I'm not sure but I have head that it is lifetime warranty, and if so, I don't know if I can bring it to an other dealer since there are new ones now. I'm 62 and I can tell you that I got many car remote in the pass and so far, Compustar have been the most problematic of all.

3 days for a 90 minute install is insane. I say 90 minutes because that's the method I use. 15 minutes for research, 30 minutes for wiring prep and bypass flashing, and 45 minutes for the actual install. That installer and shop should pay for the damage done. If you don't have an experienced installer, then just pass on the job. Especially on an expensive vehicle like that Infiniti.

What is the secret to getting the car to start itself on hot and cold and low battery? I'd come visit you, but I'm all the way in Indiana. This is my best guess based on the T12 and AS7000 user manuals.
      2-5=1 hot and cold starts
2-6=4 24 hr monitoring of cold starts
      2-8=3 cold start at +23F
      2-9=1 hot start at +77F
      2-13=2 enable timer mode
4-14=4 low battery warn + auto start at 11.7v
trunk + key for 2.5 sec, then press F F Unlock
      then..
      Trunk+Key F F

WOW! WTF? Who horribly failed at the poor attempt of installing that remote start? Ray Charles could do a better job, and he is dead not to mention blind. It's a shame that there is no check and balance for companies to get their business license. Especially when providing a service that requires knowledge and skill and training or atleast studying.
