When I was in the US Navy stationed in San Diego, my pregnant Wife had a craving for rolled tacos at 4 AM many days. I could only find one business that was open at that time in the morning. They would see me coming and they knew why I was there, so they had a dozen ready. Quick in and out. My Son loves tacos. Wonder where He got that? :-) .
Roberto's? When I lived in SD I ate there all the time.
I miss all the 24/7 taco shops in San Diego. I was always getting 10 rolled tacos
@@ahmedmanajid 10 rolled, side of guac, and a Carne asada burrito. 😋
@Jerry O'Dell thanks for your service and for watching
@@CowboyKentRollins hi can you make fried quesadillas just buy the corn masa already made also add filling inside if u like serve it with salsa and lettuce or cream yummy
"Tah keet toes" love this guy lol
Reminds me of Marshawn Lynch on that TV show talking about his QUES-A-DEE-LA
I'm glad Kent differentiated between taquitos and flautas.
And he got it WRONG!
I like taquitos .. Flautas, Never!

From the smoky dip, to the salsa, the cowboy chutney & hatch knife everything this man sells is absolutely tremendous. Huge fan. Thanks!!!
Thanks D W so glad you are enjoying
I hope to see this old legend in the game of Red Dead Redemption 3 as a chef traveling the roads selling the best cooking recipes ❤❤❤❤
Would be honored I would
Red Dead redemption 1,2,3, awesome 😎
My parents taught me to put the taquitos on a wooden skewers so the tortillas stay closed and they can be pulled out in batches. Good stuff Kent!
Good ideal
Love your kids the way they watch you I enjoy your shows too bless you and your family
Thanks they have such hard jobs
Flautas are from Jalisco state. You can stuff them with chicken, schreded beef, mashed potatoes or cheese. The salsa of choice would be a green guacamole (made with tomatillos).
It’s a great day when I see a Cowboy Kent video!
Substitute the toothpicks with a loose paste of flour and water, brushed on the end flap. Holds very well
1/4 cup of baking soda, quart of hydrogen peroxide, 2 TBSP dawn dish soap, poor it on your dog and let it sit for up to 5 minutes then rinse off, repeat as necessary for skunk smell. just dealt with that yesterday on my dog. of course a good bath after the smell is gone. bet that skunk smell mixed great with the smell of the food cooking! lol
LOL, come for the taquitos, stay for the pet de-skunking treatments 😂
Appreciate that- will have to try next time
That's a for sure deskunk shampoo recipe. Apply to dry coat, let sit for 5 minutes!
Water makes the smell worse
@@aljohnson1191 I know.. I'm a dog groomer and I do deskunk dogs all the time 😁
My favorite chef on utube,a national treasure, Kent Rollins 👍🇺🇸😎
Thanks Donald so much
Every time you say "ice box" I smile. It what I say and what mom and dad called the refrigerator. I am 51 with a 7 year old daughter and she calls it an ice box. The little things that make you happy.
I know what you mean. I immediately thought of my mom talking about how, in the 1920s and '30s, the ice wagon would come by every week. Mom said the ice cost 25¢. She and her sister would take their ice tongs and a quarter out to the ice man and haul the ice block in and plunk it in the ice box. I never saw any of that but, in my head, I still have the image I created when Mom told me the story. You are so right - it's the little things. 😊
That's awesome! I can relate. When he said Ice Box I time traveled to my grandma's home.
Kent my MAN you’re killing it. Peace from NYC
Thanks Dan
I'm laid up after surgery right now, so this is the first time I've caught y'all's posting only **2 minutes** after posting!
- I love when you do foods that are common here in Texas, so thanks for the post today! 😉
I hope you have a speedy recovery. I was in the hospital for Labor Day and had to have surgery, I'm almost back to normal.
Take care of yourself and your family.
There was a taco stand in El Paso in the early 80's that served taquitos smothered in a red sauce. Awesome stuff!
It's still there. Chicos Tacos
Chicos Tacos right? Gabriel Iglesias did a bit on it lol
@@KingKhanate1997, just watched the "Fluffy" bit on Chico's....lmao. Always ate there when I played softball at a field close by. Good memories.
Im from El Paso. Chico's tacos has since gone from one location to a few. It's an "institution" now and definitely a must if you're ever visiting.
My uncle opened a restaurant called Tacoholics. He had a dish on the menu that payed homage to Chico's. If you're ever in San Antonio, I'd definitely recommend trying them out.
@@victorpena5217 I lived in El Paso for about 5 years, went to Coronado HS. Late 70's it was Chicos and Charcoaler😁
To us , Southern most of Texas, Rio grade valley area, flautas are corn rolled taquitos filled with barbacoa or chicken and shallow fried. Taco de harina is just the flour tortilla taco .
As a veteran, a home cook, and an avid watcher, I thank you for the shout out for the men and women who serve.
Ditto
It is our honor and we thank you for your service
Esos taquitos con una salsa de molcajete, crema y queso, que ricos!

Looks great Cowboy Kent 🙏
My dad bought us a tortilla warmer years ago in Texas. They’re great to keep them warm and handy. You can find them many places now, especially online. Thanks for another great video!
I grew up in San Diego and I know the difference and they are both absolutely delicious
So glad I found this channel! I’m not a fan of television so I only watch stuff where I learn something. I enjoy watching these videos before going to bed. Can’t even explain how much I enjoy the way you prepare some amazing food. Life is good if you can spend some time making great food.
Thanks so much for taking time to watch
Your a true American and your cooking and videos are the best! Thanks for sharing
You are so welcome
Woohoo!!! It's Cowboy Kent 🤠 time!!!
Looks good , In Mexico we call these either Tacos Dorados , or Taquitos Dorados , we also call them Flautas , but that depends on the region of Mexico , Dorados means fried crispy . Take care buddy thanks for the delicious content .
Thank you Javier for watching
Flautas are made with a bigger and thinner tortilla, and had shredder meat, mexican cream or crema and queso cotija, guacamole and some salsa
Definitely not flautas but it’s easy to confuse the two since the show both essentially the same thing
@@frijoleswithbeanss are the same, but flautas tortillas are much much thinner and bigger, it gives them a special crunch and, I don´t know why they taste different somehow
If everyone would be like kent the world would be so much better
I LOVE rolled tacos with cheddar cheese and cotija on top with a side of guacamole. I'll eat those beyond my limits 😂😂😂
Sound great to me

Damn your channel is a much needed and appreciated one, good old strong wild west....we're a dying breed.
Here in San Diego, when I get them at restaurants, they are usually covered in guacamole, lettuce and cheese. So good.
Those taquitos look really good. Cheers, Kent and Shannon! 👍👍✌️
Thanks Dwayne so much for watching
Looks like a great idea for using up leftover meat (from a rotisserie chicken, or similar) I love those Don Jose taquitos…but, I’m sure they’ll taste so much better homemade. I also wanted to give you my deepest thanks for always acknowledging our armed service members and veterans, it means a lot. They sacrifice a lot for us, and don’t need fanfare, just some decent respect…they don’t choose the war, etc. They go and fight for us where they’re told, and they fight to the death, and that deserves respect, regardless anyone’s politics.
Amen to that, we owe them all so much
Love you guys & the pups.❤🙏
Thanks so much
The end of your video's remind me of the old RED Skeleton show, he always ended with God Bless. thank You for the tip of the hat to our service men and women.

You sir are the best thing on the web. God bless you for the work you do.
Thanks Davi and God bless you
Davinoc, which for some reason comes across as Davi noc, actually stands for Dave in Orange County. Its my little identifying handle.
I love all your videos. In this world of turbulent news and high stress feelings, you dial it back down. Like entering a special place where it all melts away.
Thank you for all you do. You are a blessing for us all.

What an amazing background. Leaves changing colors. Sunset. Old Glory waving in the breeze. You picked an excellent spot.
Huge Fan Kent!, blessings from Mexico 😊
Recently discovered this channel. I love the host; his voice, his authenticity, his warmness, his humor... Charming
I am very happy that you are back on line,I am miss you a lot.
Been here every week we have
Excellent!! Thanks, I am sure we will be making some of these.
Oh...by the way....the town I grew up in, Zillah Washington had a Stokely Van Camp French fry factory. They were the first to process frozen french frys and tatter tots in the US...the tots were introduced about 1962.
In the late ‘60s there was a small place on either El Cajon Blvd or University Ave, San Diego, can’t remember now, called Azteca. Rolled tacos for .10 cents. They were amazing.
I use to go to T.J. and I would get 4 tacos and a beer for $2. Last time I went you couldn’t get a taco for a dollar let alone a beer for a dollar. I sure do miss the old days 🌮🍻
I love watching and making your delicious recipes😁 Thanks so much and keep up the great cooking!👍
Following from Nova Scotia Canada.love your channel
Very sorry about your friend Daddy Jack !!!!

Mr. Kent you are a master im learning how to cook outdoors, thanks so much for your videos.
All I have to say is that was one mighty powerful stinky cat the Duker got friendly with. Here it is Friday night at 10PM in San Antonio Texas and I was sittin’ out enjoying the breeze and watchin’ y’all and dadgum if I couldn’t smell ole Duker all the way down here. I had to pack up and move inside!!!
It's been years watching yall and every episode is as great as the last! love you guys!
Thanks so much

Thank you Deborah so much
i love how happy you are and such a great personality your awesome love the happy grateful attitude. plus darn it i get some amazing recipes and even ideas from you thank you.
Sir, i just want to say thank you for the amazing recipes. You remind me of my awesome neighbors in oklahoma when i loved there .
A bit of corn starch slurry right at the edge of the roll works good to "glue" the tortillas if you are making a lot of rolled tacos in advance.
So I am not the only one who found this secret of sealing stuff up.
These will be on our menu soon here in Denver! Thank you!
Hope everyone enjoys
Cielito Lindo on Olvera Street in downtown Los Angeles. Best taquutos I've ever had, and they've been making them since 1934. Used to go there with my grandpa.
Definitely going to make us some of those very soon, by the way, your guys coffee is perfect! Thanks for sharing you two 🤠
Poor Duker. On the up side the food looks amazing, I wish you delivered 😃
The Beagle would eat it before i got it the sack

Thanks Iris
Hey Kent, I've only seen two of your videos and I've already fallen in love with your style. You're an honest man. America needs more men like you, it's refreshing to see. I've got family in Texas and I can't wait to see them again. God bless you!
Depending where you are in Mexico, taquito either means "rolled crunchy taco" or "mini taco" aka a street taco
Don't ruin this.

Another great video Kent 👍
Ken, it is Taco Tuesdays and Taquito Thursdays I am surprised you have not heard that. In Southern California, we have Corn Burritos and they are eaten on Corn Burrito Wednesdays, Ensalada Mondays, Burrito Fridays, Tostada Saturdays, and Chili Rellenos Sundays.
I wish there were more people in the world like you and Shann... Love watching you good folks. 👍 Thank you and God bless! 🙏
Thanks so much Jayson and God bless you

Thanks Johnny
Thank you for another fine video 😀
Thank u so much for the video. Love ur red pan.
Kent, its getting close to fall season here in Dallas. My better half calls this season "Caldo Time".
Basically "Soup Season".
My favorite is the Tex-Mex version of "Caldo de Rez" with that delicious chuck roast, cut into chunks, and of course spiced, and souped with lots of veggies, potatoes, and small ears of corn on the cob. Served in a deep bowl, eat it with hot corn tortillas spread with butter and rolled up tight. Makes you all warm inside after watching another disappointing loss by the Dallas Cowgirls.
Can’t wait to try this!
Amen. God Bless you sir. Always love your videos. Just made me very hungry!!🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Ok.. yummmm….. just yummmm…. So making these !

Looks good! Thanks for video
I knew a Mexican woman who used shredded beef to make her chili. It was very good. I have been thinking about that recently and with you using a crock pot to cook the meat so it is like shredded beef. I know those taquitos were very good and I might try to make them as well.
Hope you enjoy
