To get $550 off the Soundavo WS66i Whole Home Audio amp, use code TKMZ at checkout! www.soundavo.c...
Ideally you would want to change them out completely, and run CAT5e/CAT6 cable for the new digital volume controls. Using your existing volume controls is not the greatest solution, BUT people have asked so I've demonstrated how it CAN work! This would still require you to use the smartphone app to change the zone sources, but it is doable!

This is what I had to do with one of my zones because I had a volume control knob but not a cat5e cable for digital. Works perfectly with the app.

Hey man it’s me again. I don’t think I ever saw this video on how to convert old analog system to digital on the Soundavo w6si amp. Do I have to run a cat cable from each of the different controller to mount the new digital control pad? If I’m right does it mean I can remove the analog knob completely from the wall?

how can I connect the Soundavo keypads and eliminate my analog volume control knobs. The knobs are currently connected via the 4 wire set up. I do not have cat 5 wire to the volume knob.

You will have to run cat 5 if you want to eliminate the 4 wire setup, as the soundavo keypads are digital, the 4 wire can't be digital

How would you put the volume on only 1 speaker on an analog volume control knob.
For example, master bedroom has 2 speakers and master bathroom has 1 speaker. All in the same zone. But I want to be able to turn the bathroom speaker off when watching TV while still keeping the speakers in the bedroom on the digital keypad.
Thank you for all your help!💜

Your 3rd speaker should be in parallel with one of the other speakers (in other words your speaker is branching off of one of those other speakers) so you would branch off of that speaker, run it to your analog volume control input, then run a speaker wire from the output of the analog volume control to your speaker. With having the volume control in the middle like this, it will allow you to cut the signal if you want that 3rd speaker off, or turn it up to let the signal pass through.

Can you control different zones with the same digital pad at the same time? I have 2 zones very close to one another (kitchen and living) and im wondering if i have to put two pads one beside the other for each zone or one pad can control both zones at once and play the same music on both zones from the same pad

With the current version of the keypad you can't. But I think they told me they are working on an LCD version that could do this. My understanding was that this LCD upgraded version would be available this year still. I was going to get my hands on one and do a video when it became available

@@TheKMZ1 also how does the system know which pad controls what speakers if the speakers arent directly connected to the pad on their zone, because all the cat cables merge into one

    • @TheKMZ1

@@raduchristian7547 yes with my Android app I built, you can create a zone group which will control all the zones the same time in that group. The way the keypad knows how to control which zone is because on the back of the keypad, there's a small red thing which has 3 dip switches on the back. A combination of up/down on the switches tells it which zone it will control. The legend is printed on the keypad, so you will know how to set the switches accordingly.

Please review the monoprice page that you bought that. See the FAQs sections, what you bought is a pre amp kit that doesn't not have an amplifier. So that kit, is not the same as the 10761 product id amp. It sounds like you need to hook up an amp (amps) to your pre amp outs, or return it and buy something different because I think it's not what you thought it was

Is there a way to connect the key pads to the amp through Wifi, vs having to run ethernet cables?
    Thanks in advance.

The ethernet cables are used as regular copper wires, in this case to pass data from the keypads to the receiver.
