    Not sure if you have seen the Karbon Audio version (K9604). It is just like the Monoprice/Daton but it has a network controller built right in. Dealer cost is the same. Not sure what dealer cost is on the Soundavo.

    question, can I have two whole home amplifiers on different floors? if so what cable do i need to run to connect together?

    • @TheKMZ1
      @TheKMZ1  3 года назад

      You could, yes. But you need to connect the ribbon cable together to link the amps together. I can make a custom ribbon cable to do this but how far away are we talking? 50ft?

    @TheKMZ1, My Multi-Zone Niles ZR-8630AV at EOL. System includes 2 Rotel 6 channel amps (RMB-1066). All my speakers are ceiling or wall. Looking at Sonos system as replacement. Can Rotels be incorporated? ThankU.

    Thanks for putting together these videos. I actually ended up purchasing a Soundavo ws66i for our new home which already has speakers throughout. I have a question about your Ubiquiti setup. I saw on your amazon shop that the POE switch is not Ubiquiti brand, has this caused any issues? I am looking to mimic your setup.

    • @TheKMZ1
      @TheKMZ1  3 года назад +1

      Good question, and actually those Poe things in my shop are actually what I use for powering things like voip phones and IP cameras and not as much for the Ubiquiti items. For those I either use the included Poe adapter or a ubiquit Poe switch. A lot of those other ones for cameras will work just fine as long as your access point is not the weird Ubiquiti 27v one, but the issue is these other poe switches a lot are not gigabit. So I try to make sure I'm powering my Ubiquiti APs with gigabit otherwise you'll lose a lot of speed. Almost all voip and IP cameras aren't gigabit so for those it doesn't matter so that's why I like those type of switches!

    Sorry just watched the comparison of the Dayton and Mono from a couple years back. I'll probably look more into this and use your code.
    What do you think of JBL speakers? Are there new speakers on the market that you think are best?

    • @TheKMZ1
      @TheKMZ1  3 года назад

      Hey there! Thanks for watching, did you see my video on my channel about the soundavo speakers? I do like those, they wont be for everyone because i know some are on a tigher budet but those are amazing quality speakers. I do still love the dayton audio speakers, i think they are the best budget/quality ratio out there. JBL is good as well I have no issues with those, what i like about soundavo and dayton audio is that they have engineered good speakers that dont have the "name brand" mark up.

    Need some close lookup
    Is there any options to integrate this to home-assistant?
    Aircast option?

    • @TheKMZ1
      @TheKMZ1  3 года назад

      The links in the description to the products have all the professional close up product photos. Yes the WS66i has airplay and an app control module, so it could be integrated but you may have to write something for your integration as I'm not sure what's available now

    You mentioned in the video buying a house that already have speakers and “old” analog volume controls where the prior owner took the matrix and amp. I bought one of those house! Can I not just hook up the WS66i (amp only) and turn those old style volume controls up to 80-90% and then use the app to control everything from there? Or should I bypass those old volume controls by removing them and splicing the wires together? Thanks for the great information!

    Hey, how about garden/landscape systems? I was very impressed with a friend’s Sonance outdoor system with the Sonos Amp. Is there a more affordable alternative to this?

    • @TheKMZ1
      @TheKMZ1  3 года назад

      I think you could use any of these in that setting, can you keep the amp inside (maybe a garage, or something) and then just use outdoor rated cable and outdoor speakers?

    • @lucaseceiza
      @lucaseceiza 3 года назад

      @@TheKMZ1 I was thinking about the landscape speakers that look like garden lights. Upon further investigating, I've seen that Dayton audio has the WP65BT speakers. From what I've read, these are connected on daisy chain so the system must be 70V. Have you looked at these kind of systems?

    For the WS66i, lets say I am in the kitchen, can I use their app to change between sources and control the volume with it? For a family that uses mainly streaming, do you still recommend the keypads and if yes, for what situation? cheers

    • @TheKMZ1
      @TheKMZ1  3 года назад +1

      Yes you can use the app to control any zone. The app works over wifi so as long as you have a connection, you can control it (amp has to be plugged into the network as well). I still like the keypads personally because I think they look good on the wall and it let's other guests be able to use it

    How does the soundavo WS66i differ from the monoprice 10761 (MPR-SG6Z)? The kit for the soundavo is triple the price of the monoprice amp.

    • @TheKMZ1
      @TheKMZ1  3 года назад

      I have a video on my channel talking about it, but are you using my discount code? That will take about $550 off. Then the difference in cost are not much after you factor in the fact that it has the app control module built in, 2 wireless streamers and a network switch in it

      @@TheKMZ1 Can the Soundavo WS66i be the master and use a monoprice as the slave 1? Since the app only runs off the master, would it still read a monoprice slave the same as a soundavo slave? Just hoping to save the $600+ on the second system.

    • @TheKMZ1
